After one character is gone from a soap, that character's importance is lowered to the point that she or he almost never existed.

I hear Jacqueline MacInnes Wood is leaving B&B. I have to her. I always liked her. Not enough to watch B&B, but liked her. And I want better for her than a lousy American soap opera. Brittish soaps are much much much better. Never thought I'd say that!
