Donna called 9-1-1 to come and help Marcus, who was the victim of a snake bite. The ambulance arrived and took Marcus' vital signs. They loaded him into the ambulance and got him to the hospital.
The doctor arrived and said that Marcus was a very lucky young man. He said it was a good thing Donna had gotten Marcus to the hospital as soon as she did. He informed Donna they wanted to keep Marcus overnight because he needed to stay immobilized and also needed another dose of the anti-venom antidote. Donna cried as the doctor departed when she realized how close she came to losing her son.
Donna said that she didn't know what she would have done if anything had happened to Marcus. Marcus made light of the incident and said that the next time his mother wanted snakeskin shoes, she should make certain that they killed the snake first. Marcus asked how a giant snake had gotten into the shoe crate. Donna said she was not certain, but that she had her suspicions.
Stephanie dropped by and asked how Marcus was doing. Donna asked what she was doing there. Stephanie said she was worried about Marcus. Donna said she knew Stephanie didn't give a damn about Marcus and asked her to leave. Stephanie said the accident happened at Forrester, so she wanted to know how bad the damage was.
Steffy arrived to visit Marcus and cried at the thought of losing him. Steffy said she had never contemplated that anything could happen to Marcus. She expressed her affection for him and said she did not want to lose him. He assured her that he would be just fine. Marcus promised her he wasn't going anywhere. He said he had plans for the future and they all included Steffy.
Donna and Stephanie continued to fight. Donna accused Stephanie of arranging for the snake to leap out of the crate and kill her. Donna said if it wasn't Stephanie who planned it, then it must have been her crazy sister Pam. Donna said she knew whoever planned it had meant for the snake to attack Donna and not Marcus. Stephanie was shocked that Donna thought she would actually do such a thing.
Stephanie said it was just a crazy accident. Donna disagreed fiercely and said it was not an accident,-she was targeted. Donna said if Stephanie hadn't been involved, then she was certain the attack had been carried out by the unstable Aunt Pam.
Stephanie agreed that Aunt Pam was off of her medication and was mentally ill. Stephanie tried to reassure Donna that Pam was not a psychotic killer. Donna reminded Stephanie that Pam had poured honey all over her body and left alone with a bear, who tried to eat her. Donna begged Stephanie to intervene and protect her from Aunt Pam.
Brooke asked Katie if the doctor planned to release her. Katie said yes and Brooke suggested that Katie get some rest. Katie said she didn't need rest; what she needed was time with Jack. Katie asked Brooke if Jack could please stay with her. Brooke agreed to allow Katie to take Jack home, but asked Katie if she was sure she wanted to care for Jack after she had just endured such a horrible loss. Katie said she was certain. Katie told Jack they were going home, just the three of them, Katie, Jack, and Daddy.
Nick asked Katie if she was sure she was up for babysitting. She responded that she was not babysitting, that she had requested to bring Jack home with her. Katie said Jack was a precious gift, and she could see it so clearly after her ordeal. Katie fawned over baby Jack and said he was perfect. Katie said they were blessed to have him. Nick said he could see a lot of Brooke in him. Katie disagreed and said she could only see Nick. Katie then noted that Jack looked like she did in her own baby pictures. Katie seemed mesmerized by Jack; she kissed, cooed, and expressed her love for him. Katie said she would not have made it through the day without Jack and called him her precious boy.
Ridge complimented Brooke on her kindness; he thought it was wonderful that she allowed Jack to go home with Katie. Brooke said she had gotten a weird vibe about it, and hoped she hadn't made a mistake by allowing Jack to go home with Katie. She feared Katie would become fixated on Jack. Ridge asked what she meant. Brooke explained that as soon as she handed Jack to Katie, she reacted as though she had been given her own baby, as if the miscarriage never happened.
Ridge suggested that Brooke might be overly sensitive to the situation, because it was supposed to have been Jack's first night at their home. He reminded Brooke that she had wanted that ever since she found out Jack was her biological child, and perhaps her fears were overblown. He praised Brooke again for her kindness in allowing Katie to take Jack home. Brooke said she was afraid that on some subconscious level, Katie would try to replace the baby she lost with Jack. Brooke said she overheard Katie when she called Jack her own child
Taylor had flashbacks of the choice she made to give up custody of Jack and stared sadly out her window. Rick pointed out that Taylor had been looking out the window for a long time. Taylor apologized for being such poor company. Rick said he wasn't concerned with what kind of company she was; he only wished she would share her feelings with him. Taylor admitted that she missed Jack. Rick said he missed Jack, too, but encouraged Taylor to imagine Jack with Brooke, Ridge, R.J., and Hope, and to focus on what a happy situation that would be for him. Taylor said Jack might be happy, but she was not.
Rick said he would help with her unhappiness. He announced that they would be getting married the next Friday. Taylor was shocked and asked Rick to repeat what he had said. Rick again stated that they would be married the next week and expressed his endless love for her.

At the hospital, Donna implored Stephanie to put their differences aside and help to locate Pam. Donna told Stephanie that she was certain that Pam planted the poisonous snake that bit Marcus when he opened the shipping box. She advised that the shipment had her name on it and the snake was meant for her, not Marcus. Donna explained that in Pam's sick mind, her "loyalty" to Stephanie was motivating her to get Donna out of the picture so Stephanie and Eric could reunite. Stephanie responded to Donna by telling her that she did not need Donna out of Eric's life in order to win him back. She warned Donna that she and Eric would be spending the rest of their lives together. Stephanie refused to acknowledge that Pam was dangerous and planted the snake in the shipment box. She did admit that Pam had an obsessive-compulsive disorder and had managed her illness her entire life. She said that Pam had functioned without her medication previously and was never violent.
Steffy comforted Marcus at the hospital where he was recuperating from the viper attack. Owen arrived and interrupted a kiss between them. Owen indicated to them that he visited Marcus out of genuine concern when he learned that Marcus had been hospitalized. Marcus became overprotective when Owen asked about Donna. Owen had asked where Donna was when the accident occurred, because he recalled that Marcus said the shipment had Donna's name on it. Marcus scolded Owen and told him that Donna was fighting to win Eric back. Owen admitted that he cared for Donna and would still help her if she needed him.
Taylor went to Brooke's home to inform her that she and Rick had set a wedding date for the following week. Taylor invited Brooke to the wedding. Taylor commented that Rick wanted his mother to be at the wedding; therefore, Taylor also wanted her to be there, because it was important to Rick. Brooke's response to Taylor's surprise wedding announcement was that she would discuss it with Rick. Taylor emphasized that she hoped that Brooke would be there. While Taylor was there, she admitted to Brooke that she missed Jack. She asked to see him. Brooke informed her that Katie had suffered a miscarriage and requested to take Jack home. Brooke commented that she felt that Katie's request was strange.
Taylor enlightened Brooke that it was a strange request from Katie, since women who lost their children through miscarriage often found it difficult to be around infants for a period. Taylor offered to provide therapy to Katie.
At home, Eric relaxed and played the piano. He contemplated his relationship with Donna. Eric was surprised when Donna rushed in to see him. She told him that Marcus had been bitten by a snake that was in a shipment at Forrester Creations marked with her name. Minutes later, Brooke called Donna and informed her that a car had struck Beth. Donna rushed home. Beth indicated that the car came directly toward her without trying to stop. Donna immediately assumed that it was Pam who hit Beth with the car.
Brooke requested that Donna remain there and wait for the children to arrive home while she transported Beth to the hospital. Owen made an unexpected visit to Donna. Together they concluded that it was Pam that planted the snake and had struck Beth with the car. Donna told Owen to leave because she did not want anyone to see them together, because she was fighting for her marriage.
After Owen left the house, Pam gained entry to the house and revealed herself to Donna. She told Donna that she had been watching her. Pam threatened Donna that if she did not leave Eric, Pam would kill her. Donna was in fear for her life.

Wednesday, October 8th
Crazy Aunt Pam snuck into Donna's house and taunted Donna. She reminded Donna that Marcus was in the hospital with a snakebite, and that Beth had just been hit by a car. Pam asked Donna if she thought that was a coincidence, and implied that it was not. Donna said she would call the police, but Pam lifted up her poncho to reveal a weapon She informed Donna that if she called the cops, Pam would turn her into Swiss cheese.
Donna said she knew it was Pam who had hurt her son and she promised Pam she would not allow her to hurt anyone else. Pam laughed in her face and said the cops had to catch her first, and that no one had even come close. Pam said if Donna wanted to make sure her "honey bear," Eric, didn't end up on the endangered species list, she should stay out of his life for good. Pam said that Eric was with Stephanie where he belonged, and if Donna tried to interfere, the Lemon Bar Bandit would strike again.
Donna attempted to talk Pam down. She reminded Pam that she had been off her meds for too long and that she wasn't thinking clearly. Donna said Pam was out of control. Pam said it was the exact opposite, she had never felt better or more in control in her life.
Donna asked Pam if they could have a civil discussion without guns and threats. Pam said violence was the only thing Donna understood. Pam said she got Donna's attention by hurting some of the precious Logan family. Pam informed Donna that she and Stephanie had a horrible childhood and were not surrounded by a loving family. She said Stephanie was the only good thing in her life, and that her sister deserved to live out the rest of her days surrounded by people who loved her, like Eric.
Pam said if Stephanie could not have Eric, no one could. Donna reminded Pam how horrible she felt when she realized she was responsible for Eric's heart attack. Donna said she hoped Pam was not planning to hurt Eric again. Pam said perhaps it would be easier if she just got rid of Donna at that moment. Donna pleaded with her not to draw her weapon and asked Pam to allow Donna to help her.
Donna suggested that they place a call to Stephanie. She tried her best to convince Pam that her sister would want to hear from her. Donna said that since the police considered Pam armed and dangerous, she would call Stephanie instead, and repeated that she really wanted to help Pam. Pam said that would be the day when Donna would do anything to help her.
R.J. and Hope arrived home, and Donna didn't let on that anything had happened. She asked the kids to go upstairs and get ready for bed, and said she would check on them soon. Pam said it was a good thing that she hadn't used the kids to try to escape. Donna said she knew Pam needed help and did not want to leave her alone. Pam said that was a crock; she knew Donna wished she were dead. Donna said she didn't want to see anyone killed or hurt, and especially not Hope or R.J. Pam said Hope was really cute and it would be a shame if something happened to her. Donna said she knew Pam would never hurt an innocent little girl. Pam said Donna had no idea what she was really capable of.
Donna reminded Pam that Stephanie would be horrified if Pam did anything to hurt her grandchildren. Pam said it was all up to Donna, if she would just keep her distance from Eric, no one had to get hurt and everyone she loved would be safe.
Donna said she did not know how to do that because she had spent weeks begging Eric to come back to her. Pam said she had better find a way. Pam said if she were able to save Stephanie's marriage, her life would have meaning. She said Stephanie was abused and Pam was spared because Stephanie protected her, and this was her way of doing something for Stephanie. The doorbell rang, and Pam warned Donna not to try anything tricky.
Rick, Taylor, and Steffy visited Marcus in the hospital. Stephanie popped in and expressed her condolences, but Marcus just glared at her. Beth came in and said the doctors had cleared her; nothing had been broken in the hit-and-run. Eric and Ridge also stopped by. Eric said Donna told him about Beth being hit by a car and about Marcus, and wanted to check in. Stephanie looked surprised to hear Eric and Donna had seen one another. Brooke thanked Eric for his concern.
Marcus asked if everyone would leave so he could speak to Eric alone. They complied. Eric asked what Marcus wanted to discuss with him. Marcus said he wanted to talk about his Mom - he reminded Eric of Donna's deep love for him. Marcus said Donna would willingly give her life for Eric.
Marcus informed Eric that Owen had taken advantage of Donna when she was vulnerable. He said that Eric's family had been very cold to Donna during Eric's illness and she needed someone to lean on, and just chose the wrong person in Owen. Eric said he was having a hard time forgetting what he had seen. Marcus said he knew Donna was very sorry and that her prayer was that Eric would find a way to forgive her.
Taylor asked Steffy to be her maid of honor and Steffy agreed. Rick asked Marcus if he would agree to be his best man. Marcus also agreed. Rick said Marcus was the ideal man for the job because he didn't know any of their past history and only cared about their future.
Ridge and Stephanie discussed the day's events. Stephanie said she thought it was a very odd coincidence that Beth had been hit by a car on the same day that Marcus had been bitten by a snake. Stephanie noted that the car accident seemed intentional, but Ridge said there were a lot of crazy drivers in L.A.
When Donna opened her door, it was Eric. He had stopped by to let Donna know he had visited Marcus. He said he had another reason for his visit. He expressed to Donna that he missed her and missed them together. He told her he missed kissing her and planted one on her while Donna wiggled out of his embrace like the cat from Pepe Le Pew. Donna gasped and breathed heavily because she knew crazy Aunt Pam and her loaded gun were right around the corner. Eric asked Donna what was wrong, but she could not answer.

Thursday, October 9th
At Brooke's house, Eric hugged a shaking Donna under the watchful eye of Pam who was hiding on the balcony, hidden from Eric's view, with a gun. Eric apologized for taking so long to visit her. He told Donna he missed her. He told her that she crossed the line with Owen, but he wanted to give their marriage another chance.
Since Donna was shaky and crying, Eric quizzed her if something else was going on. Donna looked helpless as Pam scowled at her from the balcony, still unseen by Eric. Donna trembled, and Eric continued to ask what was wrong. Donna said she needed to talk to him at another time, but Eric told Donna he wanted to talk about their relationship immediately. Eric said he didn't want to give up on her, but Donna said it was too late. Pam gave Donna menacing looks as Donna struggled for words and Eric hugged her. Eric said he needed the healing to begin.
Donna said she saw the future and she believed it would be tragic if they stayed together. She believed Eric would be better off without her. Donna said she had to end their relationship. Eric told Donna that there was no way he would be better off without her. Donna said she would always love him, but she had to set him free.
Eric continued to ask Donna why she was so shaky. He told her she wasn't making any sense. She begged him to go, but Eric refused. He insisted that she had to tell him what was wrong. He wondered aloud if she was in love with Owen, but she didn't say anything. He emotionally reminded her that their relationship was the best thing that ever happened to him and the best thing that happened to her. He refused to give up on her and he refused to throw the relationship away. He kissed her passionately as Pam glared at them from the balcony.
Steffy visited Taylor and thanked her mother for including Steffy and Marcus in her wedding plans. Taylor said that she and Rick wanted Steffy and Marcus to be part of the future in their relationship. Steffy questioned her mom about marrying Rick. Taylor wondered why Steffy was questioning her. Steffy asked her mother if she really felt that she and Rick had a marriage bond. Steffy added that she might be selfish hoping that Taylor and Ridge would get back together. Taylor said it was natural for kids to want their parents back together again.
Taylor noted that everyone in the family wanted Stephanie and Eric to get back together. Steffy asked Taylor pointblank if she ever wondered about getting back together with Ridge. Taylor said she would always feel a lot of affection for Ridge. They shared three children together and she missed their times together. Steffy said Ridge was the love of Taylor's life.
Taylor said that she and Ridge had a complicated relationship. It was full of love and passion, but it had always been complex. With Rick, everything was simple. Taylor said she knew that she was the priority for Rick, and no one else had ever done that for her. She added that she was the center of Rick's universe. Taylor noted that Rick had always been there for her in ways that no one else had. Steffy said Rick was a really good guy, and hugged her mom.
Rick walked into Brooke's office, and they discussed how lucky Beth was since she wasn't seriously injured after getting hit by a car. Brooke questioned Rick about choosing Marcus as his best man, and Rick told her that Marcus supported his marriage to Taylor more than anyone else in the family.
Rick said he didn't want to make his mother feel bad, but it was very important to him that his mother share in his happiness. Brooke said she was concerned. Brooke said she didn't think Taylor was the right woman for Rick, noting that he had always been Taylor's hero. He saved her from one tragedy after another. Rick didn't see anything wrong with that. He added that they had been through more as a couple than most married couples, and they survived. Brooke suggested that maybe tragedy was the only thing holding them together. Rick scoffed at his mother.
Brooke pressed on with reasons why Taylor and Rick would not be happy.
She told him that he would be traveling a lot for Forrester International, and distance would put a strain on his marriage to Taylor. Rick was incredulous.
Brooke brought up another issue when she said she knew how much Rick wanted to be a father. Brooke doubted that Taylor would go through another pregnancy. Brooke told Rick that they had many substantial issues that needed to be resolved. Rick insisted that Taylor was the woman for him.
Brooke asked what he wanted from her. Rick said he wanted Brooke to go to Taylor's house and tell her that she supported the marriage and that she was happy for them. He said that if she wouldn't do that, he didn't want Brooke at his wedding.
Brooke insisted she only wanted Rick to be happy. Rick told his mother that he wanted to be surrounded by people who loved him and Taylor on their wedding day. He only wanted people around him who would support his marriage, and he was sorry that his mother did not support it. He left her alone.
Brooke walked into Taylor's house after Steffy left. Brooke laid right into Taylor about the marriage to Rick being the wrong thing for Rick. Taylor couldn't believe Brooke was there to tell her to call off the marriage. She suggested that Brooke talk to Rick. Brooke said she did talk to Rick, but like most kids, he didn't understand that she, as his mother, knew what was best for him.
Brooke said she didn't want to meddle, but mothers knew what was best for their children. Taylor shot back that Brooke was meddling. Brooke argued that mothers knew children needed to make sacrifices and suffer a little pain in the short term to be happy. She was sure that in the long run, it was wrong for Rick to marry Taylor. Brooke suggested that Taylor needed to let Rick go the same way she let Jack go. Taylor was astounded that Brooke would even suggest such a thing. Brooke defiantly stated that she would do anything to save Rick from the marriage.

Friday, October 10th
Eric was shocked when Donna turned down his offer to give her a second chance. He said she was breaking his heart. Donna said it was for Eric's own good. Aunt Pam peered menacingly at Donna from behind the curtain with gun drawn. Eric asked Donna why she had come to him for forgiveness if she didn't want to reunite with him. Donna whimpered and sighed. She rhetorically asked Eric why he had to talk about it right that minute. Eric asked if she had ever really loved him. She said of course she had. Eric asked Donna if Owen really meant that much to her. Donna said she was in love with Owen. She admitted that she knew she was hurting Eric, but it would only be worse if they waited. Eric removed his wedding band and laid it on the table. He said it was obvious their marriage was over. Crazy Aunt Pam beamed with delight from behind the curtains.
Eric asked Donna if that was what she really wanted, to end their marriage. Donna didn't respond, but took her ring off and laid it down next to Eric's ring and told him there was no other way. Eric said he really was an old fool. He said he believed Donna when she told him he was a prisoner in his life, and when she convinced him that he deserved passion. He said he had searched for that passion his whole life, and he finally found it with Donna. He said he was a lucky man, he had been loved a lot in his life, but he never believed he would find the kind of love that Donna brought to him. Eric said Stephanie had been right about Donna when she told him Donna's love was all an act. Donna said he was wrong, and she begged him to believe that she had truly loved him. After Eric left, Aunt Pam came out from her hiding place and said Donna should go off and have a really long cry and added that women like them weren't meant to be married.
Eric arrived home and Stephanie noticed his empty ring finger. She asked Eric if he ended his marriage to Donna. He said he was not sure which one of them ended the marriage, but yes, the marriage was over. Eric told Stephanie that Donna was in love with Owen. Stephanie said she was surprised, she actually believed Donna loved him. Stephanie said whatever the case, she was there for him and cared about his pain.
Donna said that Pam had gotten what she asked for and asked Pam to go back to whatever rock she had been hiding under. Donna said Pam had heard every word she said with a gun pointed at her head, and Donna did what she was asked to do. She told Pam to leave, and to leave Marcus, Beth, and Eric alone. Donna said Pam didn't understand what she had just done because no one had ever loved Pam, so she didn't know how it felt to love someone and have it ripped away from you.
Pam said it was too bad that she couldn't be certain that Eric would go back to Stephanie. Donna said if Pam wanted to kill her, to go ahead and kill her, but to leave Eric alone. Donna said she wouldn't let the sacrifice she had made be for nothing. Pam said she didn't want to kill Donna, because the police did man hunts for murderers, whereas in the case of just regular crazy people, they didn't really seem to care if they get caught.
Pam said Donna was acting very brave. Donna said Pam had taken the only thing from her that she ever really cared about. Pam said she was glad because Donna would know how Stephanie felt when Donna stole Eric from her. Pam said if Donna kept her word and stayed away from Eric, then Pam would stay away from Eric, too. But she warned Donna that she would be watching her all the time. Pam said she had nothing but time-she was always the one on the sidelines with no life, but her life from that day forward would be watching Donna to keep her away from Eric.
Taylor explained to Brooke that she advised clients to work out relationship issues by refusing to judge someone else's choices, and by realizing they couldn't predict the future. Taylor said she and Rick had proven to Brooke that their relationship was genuine and was not an act of rebellion or a vendetta against Brooke. Brooke said people never really knew why they fell in love with someone.
Brooke said Taylor did a very selfless thing when she gave Brooke custody of Jack, and Brooke did not want to pick a fight with Taylor. Brooke said she admired Taylor for putting her own feelings aside and acting in Jack's best interest. Brooke said she hoped Taylor would do the same thing for Rick. Taylor said Rick was a grown man and could make his own choices. Brooke asked if Rick was fine with a childless marriage. Taylor said they had not discussed it, but if it came up, she and Rick could adopt. Brooke asked Taylor if she really wanted to raise another child at this stage in her life.
Taylor said she and Rick were in love and they didn't feel the need to negotiate every issue up-front. Brooke asked if Taylor really believed she and Rick would be able to weather good times and bad. Taylor said yes, of course, that was the point of marriage. Brooke reminded Taylor that their whole relationship so far had been bad times: Rick helped her get over Nick, Rick helped her with her issues surrounding Jack, and Rick helped Taylor stay sober. Taylor asked Brooke if she was trying to imply that Taylor would be too weak to help Rick if he needed her. Brooke said she was concerned about Rick not having children because he married Taylor, and that one day Taylor would be too old to keep up with Rick. Taylor was dumbfounded and could not believe Brooke's audacity in bringing up her age. Taylor said it was the last time Brooke would ever be allowed to come into her house and tell her how to run her life.
Taylor said it was none of Brooke's business how she lived her life. Brooke reminded Taylor that Taylor was planning to marry her son, so it was her business. Taylor said Rick was an adult and it was time for Brooke to cut the apron strings. Brooke said that Rick didn't have a very good track record with marriage, and that Taylor didn't either. Taylor said the only reason she had a bad track record was because every time she got married and was happy, Brooke came along and poached her husband. Taylor said since Brooke couldn't steal Rick away from her, she decided to use a new tactic by playing concerned mother. Taylor said it was not working and she would not lose another man she loved to Brooke.
Stephanie pointed out to Ridge that she had not been asked to move back into Eric's house, so she had to be prepared to leave soon. Ridge said it was hard for him to visit their home when his mother was not in it. Stephanie said she didn't want to put Eric on the spot. When Eric woke up from his coma, Stephanie was already there. She said she thought Eric was about ready to make a decision for his future. Ridge offered to go upstairs and have a talk with his dad. Stephanie said he wasn't home; she believed he went to see Donna.
Ridge went home and found Steffy looking depressed. He asked her what was wrong. Steffy said she was troubled that her mom was going to marry Rick. Ridge said he heard that they planned to marry. Steffy asked Ridge if he would want Taylor back if Brooke wasn't in the picture. Ridge said he had no idea Steffy felt that way. Steffy said she loved Brooke, but she loved her mom more. Ridge said he loved the life he had with Taylor and the time they spent raising their kids, but people and circumstances changed. Steffy said no, that Ridge was the one who changed it. She said Taylor, Phoebe, Thomas, and she never wanted things to change. Ridge said he was sorry, but Taylor was going to marry someone else and so was he.
Brooke and Taylor continued to argue. Brooke said Taylor and Rick were bound to hurt one another and that Rick would feel trapped in their marriage and leave her one day. Taylor was fed up and asked Brooke to leave. Brooke asked if there was anything she could do to convince Taylor not to marry Rick. Taylor said yes, that Brooke could give her back her husband. Brooke said she could not believe that Taylor was wearing Rick's ring but was still in love with Ridge. Brooke demanded that Taylor tell her whom she would rather marry, Rick or Ridge.

Monday, October 13th
Brooke demanded that Taylor answer her question; would Taylor rather be married to Ridge or Rick. Taylor said she was finished talking about it and asked Brooke to leave. Brooke said she wanted an answer, and reminded Taylor that she was the one who asked Brooke to give Ridge back to her. Taylor said she only said that because Brooke was baiting her. Brooke said that was not true. Brooke said she needed an answer because she wanted to make sure that Taylor didn't view Rick as a consolation prize. Brooke asked Taylor point-blank if she loved Rick. Taylor said of course she loved Rick and added that Brooke was being ridiculous. Brooke said she was not being ridiculous; Taylor revealed something and Brooke was determined to get to the bottom of it.
Taylor explained that when Brooke arrived, she had just finished talking to Steffy about Ridge and that was why he was on her mind. Brooke said that she didn't believe it; she thought Taylor still wanted a life with Ridge. Taylor said of course she did, she had a life with Ridge-a beautiful life and a grand love affair before Brooke stole Ridge from her. Brooke asked if her life with Ridge was better than what Taylor shared with Rick. Taylor said it was not better, but different. Taylor said Brooke had forgotten that her marriage to Ridge ended years ago. She reminded Brooke that she had been married to Nick since the time she and Ridge split up. Taylor assured Brooke that she was not sitting around pining for Ridge. Taylor said Brooke was responsible for the breakup of her marriage to Nick, too. Taylor accused Brooke of trying to destroy her relationship with Rick just as she had destroyed all Taylor's previous relationships.
Brooke said she was concerned about her son. Taylor said she did not believe that Brooke was concerned for Rick. Taylor said it was about Brooke trying to create a roadblock to keep Rick and Taylor from getting married. Brooke said if Taylor still had feelings for her ex, she should not be getting married to anyone else. Taylor laughed at the irony of those words coming out of Brooke's mouth. Brooke was offended that Taylor laughed at her. Taylor said she could not help it; those words were hysterically funny considering Brooke's own history.
Brooke said Taylor was trying to deflect and make it all about Brooke. Taylor said it was about Brooke and her pathological need to make Taylor miserable. Brooke said she thought they had gotten past all the animosity between them when Taylor gave Brooke custody of Jack. Taylor said that decision was made solely on the basis of what was best for Jack.
Brooke said she understood that Taylor had been through a rough few years, and that understandably she wanted to blame someone. Taylor agreed and said it was true, and that she blamed Brooke. Taylor said she could not blame Brooke for the fact that Taylor was presumed dead, but she did blame Brooke for refusing to accept things when Ridge chose to go back to Taylor. Brooke defended her actions and said she was only fighting for her family. Taylor said Brooke had not considered Ridge and Taylor's family: Phoebe, Thomas, and Steffy.
Taylor said Brooke wrecked their lives. Taylor admitted that Ridge was the love of her life. Brooke's jaw dropped and she said she could not believe Taylor would admit Ridge was the love of her life on the eve of her wedding to Rick. Taylor said she supposed Brooke would prefer that Taylor be an old maid and never get remarried, but Taylor wanted to move on with her life. She said she wanted to be with a man who loved her and only her, and Rick was the only man Brooke couldn't try to seduce away from her. Brooke said that proved Rick and Taylor's impending marriage was about getting revenge. Taylor told Brooke to stop trying to break up her and Rick. Taylor kicked Brooke out of her house. On the way out the door Brooke said she hoped Taylor would pray long and hard before she married her son Rick. After Brooke left, Taylor got out a box and looked through a stack of photos of Taylor and Ridge.
Eric informed Stephanie that Donna was out of his life for good. Stephanie said she was sorry and hugged him. Eric said Stephanie had been right about Donna. Stephanie said she would not say "I told you so" to Eric. She said she knew that Eric had given everything to his relationship with Donna and had fought to keep it going. Stephanie said maybe it was just a detour on Eric's road back to her. She added that she realized he had not actually come back to her. Eric said, "Yet." Stephanie said she would leave that choice up to Eric, and Eric said that Stephanie had never left anything up to him. The two of them shared a warm laugh. Stephanie said she was thankful that Eric was home and was alive and that was all she needed for a while. Eric thanked Stephanie for understanding
Donna stopped by to visit a shirtless Owen. She told him she had ended her marriage to Eric. Donna started to explain what happened, but then decided she should not be there and picked up her things to leave. Owen stopped her and begged her to let him know what was wrong. Donna said she didn't have anyone else to turn to. She explained to Owen that Aunt Pam had come to the house and threatened her. Owen asked if Pam was in custody, and Donna said no. Owen grabbed the phone and dialed 9-1-1, but Donna grabbed it away from him and hung up. She said that she made a deal with Pam and if they reported Pam to the police, everyone she loved would be hurt.
Owen said that Eric would not believe her because she had worked so hard to win him back. Donna explained that she convinced Eric that what he had seen was real and that she had developed feelings for Owen.
Owen, still without a shirt, brought Donna a drink. He said that Donna needed a place to stay and suggested she move in with him. He reminded her that Pam was watching and she had to convince her whole family that Owen and Donna had a relationship. He said they also had to convince Pam and that he knew she would be watching them. Donna said Owen was right - she did not want to give Pam any reason to question her or to hurt someone else she loved. She said she had to act to protect her family. Owen said she did not have to do it alone.
Steffy fought off the tears and said she didn't know why she was so upset about her parents getting remarried to other people. She said it had been a long time since they were together. Ridge asked Steffy if she wished he and Taylor were back together. She said she did, and added that Taylor told her it was normal for a child to want divorced parents to reunite. Steffy said she realized it was bad timing for her to bring it up right before Rick and Taylor's wedding, but if she did not say something then, she would have missed her chance to speak her mind.
Ridge said he was sorry, but it was unrealistic for Steffy to hope for that, because Taylor no longer loved him in a romantic way. Ridge said that even though he, Taylor, Phoebe, Thomas, and Steffy didn't all live under the same roof anymore, they were still a family, and would always be connected and love one another.
Brooke went to Ridge's office and told him about her meeting with Taylor. She said she tried to talk Taylor out of marrying Rick. Ridge said perhaps Rick and Taylor actually were a good fit. Brooke said Taylor didn't love Rick the way he deserved to be loved. Ridge said Brooke had been saying that since Rick and Taylor first got together. Brooke said she suspected it all along, but she finally had proof. Taylor's relationship with Rick was only a bandage on an old wound. Brooke said Rick was Taylor's second choice. Ridge asked second to whom, and Brooke said second to Ridge. Brooke informed Ridge that Taylor was still totally in love with him.
Ridge said that was nonsense. He said that he and Taylor shared three kids together and there was bound to be some residual feelings. Brooke said Taylor called Ridge "the love of her life." Ridge said that was just a figure of speech. Brooke said no, there was more to it than that. Brooke said Taylor was in love with Ridge, and predicted that she always would be. Brooke informed Ridge that Taylor blurted out that Brooke should give her back her husband. Ridge said he was floored. Brooke begged Ridge to talk to Taylor and said he was the only one Taylor would listen to. Ridge agreed. Ridge went to Taylor's house and laid his hand on her shoulder. Taylor said, "Brooke told you that I want you back." Ridge said he was glad that Brooke told him how Taylor felt.

Tuesday, October 14th At Taylor's home, Ridge intentionally visited her to address what Brooke had told him-that he was the love of Taylor's life. Taylor did not deny her words. She explained that it had been extremely painful to leave Ridge years earlier and that she was trying to move on with her life. Ridge knew that Taylor was embarrassed that she had called him the love of her life. Ridge tried to support her by commenting that he, too, had feelings, and he had also cared about her. Ridge explained that he would always care about her. He remarked that their marriage was a special time for him. He characterized his life with Taylor as being just as special as his life with Brooke had been, but also different. Taylor questioned Ridge about why he had not married Brooke yet. Taylor insinuated that Brooke continued to have feelings for Nick. Ridge acknowledged what Taylor said. He commented that he trusted Brooke when she had said it was over between her and Nick.
Meanwhile, at Forrester Creations, Brooke met with Rick. She informed him that Taylor had called Ridge the love of her life and that she still loved him. Brooke added that Rick was Taylor's second choice. Rick was very cynical of Brooke's revelation. He accused her of having pushed Taylor's buttons once again. Brooke's son did not believe a word from his mother. He told her that she was out of line and had no business meddling. Rick warned his mother that if Taylor still loved Ridge, then she would worry about him, not her son.
At Owen's house, Donna was intoxicated and became completely unraveled. She was grieving because she had ended her marriage to Eric. Owen suggested that she should have met with Eric in private and informed him about Pam's threats. Donna commented that she had thought of Owen's idea, but she didn't want to place Eric or her family in jeopardy from Pam. He assured Donna that he would help her through her bad time. He told her he would help her get Eric back. Owen asked Donna to stay at his house because she was tired and intoxicated. Donna went to Owen's room and sobbed over Eric. Owen tried to console her. He and Donna kissed passionately for a moment, then Donna backed away from him. She told him that she was sorry but she could not make love to him because she loved Eric. Donna remarked that she wanted to remain loyal to Eric even if they were apart.
Taylor questioned whether leaving Ridge were the right thing to do at that time. She recalled that she and Ridge had ended their marriage so he could parent R.J. with Brooke. She continued to ask questions such as whether Ridge was happier with Brooke. Taylor expressed her disappointment that she and Ridge were not together as a family with their children. Taylor called Ridge the love of her life. He responded by calling her "Doc" and telling her that he still loved her, too. They gave each other a warm embrace. Taylor passionately kissed Ridge. Ridge acted surprised by the kiss. He held Taylor in his arms and comforted her.

Wednesday, October 15th,
Taylor dreamt of kissing Ridge. Rick said Taylor must have had a wonderful dream because he caught her smiling. He said he loved waking up to the most beautiful fiancée in the world.
Rick told Taylor about his conversation with Brooke. He said Brooke said that Taylor had called Ridge the love of her life. Taylor admitted that she had said that, but explained that she and Ridge had shared three kids and a life together, and had shared a lot over the years. She said that one day she and Rick would share a connection like that, too. Rick said perhaps he would be the love of her life someday.
Taylor said Ridge was her past and that people moved on. Rick asked Taylor if she had done that. She said yes, of course she had. She said she had not forgotten Ridge, just as Rick had not forgotten Amber. Rick appeared peeved. Rick asked her what her plans were for the rest of the day. Taylor said she planned to attend Jack's birthday party. Rick said they had discussed that and concluded it would be a bad idea. Taylor said she changed her mind and felt as if she should acknowledge her son's first birthday. He said fine, but reminded her to meet him for some wedding appointments. She said she would be there and that she could not wait to be married to him.
Ridge woke up and thought of Taylor. Brooke woke up and said she understood why Taylor wanted Ridge back. She asked Ridge if he had spoken to Taylor. He said he did and Taylor did not deny that she had feelings for him, but she still planned to marry Rick. Brooke said disgustedly that Taylor would do it, even though Rick was her second choice. Brooke said Rick deserved better. Ridge said he felt for Taylor and reminded Brooke that Taylor had been through a lot. He said he suspected she would have a particularly rough time since it was Jack's birthday. Brooke asked if they could celebrate Jack's birthday at their house instead of at Nick's. Brooke expressed that she thought it would be too hard for Katie because she'd just lost a baby. Ridge agreed that it would be a good idea. Ridge said he wasn't looking forward to hanging out at Nick's house, anyway. Brooke said she would run it by Nick.
Brooke called Nick and asked him if they could move the party. He said no because Katie had put a lot of effort into decorating the entire house. Brooke said she was worried that it would upset Katie if she celebrated Jack's birthday. Nick said it was just the opposite; the party planning had brought Katie back to life. Brooke looked puzzled. Brooke informed Ridge they would have to attend the party at Nick's. Ridge said he wanted to give Jack the best life possible and would do whatever it took to make that happen. He just hoped he could do it far away from Nick.
Ridge took a phone call, and informed Brooke she would have to go to Jack's party without him. He had a work situation to handle and would catch up with her later. He said he didn't mind going late because Nick gave him the willies. Brooke said Nick was their co-parent and they had to get along with him. Ridge said he would get along with Nick for Jack's sake.
Ridge handed a stack of reports to Stephanie and asked her how Eric was doing. She said he was still heartbroken over the end of his marriage to Donna. Stephanie said that she did not understand why Donna had suddenly thrown in the towel and given up. Ridge said he didn't care; he was just glad she was gone. Stephanie said Eric was the love of her life. Ridge said that was the same thing Taylor had said about him. Stephanie said Ridge's life had gone to hell since he left Taylor. Ridge said it didn't matter, that Taylor planned to marry Rick. Stephanie wondered what would happen if Ridge were available.
Ridge explained to Stephanie that Taylor had made changes in her life such as giving custody of Jack to Brooke. Stephanie assumed Ridge would not marry Brooke. Ridge said no, he still planned to marry Brooke; the two of them would raise Jack together. Stephanie could not believe her ears and told Ridge point-blank it would not work.
Ridge left for Jack's party and Stephanie made a beeline for Taylor's house. Stephanie reminded Taylor that if Nick and Brooke were working together to parent Jack, a spark could possibly reignite between them. Taylor said the Ridge was committed to Brooke. Stephanie said she heard that Taylor still had feelings for Ridge, and this could be her last chance to put her family back together.
Nick informed Katie of Brooke's phone call. He said that Brooke was concerned about her. Katie brushed it off and said Jack's party was therapeutic for her. Katie said she would not have been able to cope after her miscarriage without Jack, She said she was very thankful for Jack; he was just like a son to her. Nick looked concerned by her statement.
Jackie arrived for Jack's party and said Jack was a blessing. She gave baby Jack an art set and Katie took him into the kitchen with her to spread it out and play. Jackie mentioned that Katie appeared to be doing well, and Nick said it was because of Jack. He said Katie loved being around the baby. Jackie asked how Brooke and Ridge felt about it. Nick said, "How do you think?" Jackie responded that Brooke would probably be sensitive to Katie's needs, and she expected Ridge was resentful. Nick said that was an understatement. Jackie asked how Ridge felt about attending a party at Nick's house, and Nick replied that he didn't care. Nick stated he would not allow Ridge to dictate what he did with his son.
Brooke arrived at Jack's party and hugged and kissed him. Katie took him upstairs to change his clothes and Jackie went with her. Nick asked why Ridge wasn't there, and Brooke said he was coming. She asked Nick to be nice to Ridge when he arrived. Nick said it wasn't easy for either him or Ridge. Brooke said she understood that, and it was not easy for her, either.
Ridge arrived at the party and discovered Nick, Brooke, and Jack posing together for a happy family photo. Ridge said to Brooke that they should sing "Happy Birthday," cut the cake, and leave the party. Brooke asked why Ridge was so upset. He reminded Brooke that he had told her at the outset that he would not share her with Nick.

Thursday, October 16th
After Ridge freaked about the photo Brooke and Nick had taken with Jack, it triggered a discussion about sharing. Ridge said he would share Brooke with Jack but not Nick. Brooke was upset that Ridge treated her like a possession. She was also upset that they had to stop the party to have the discussion.
Ridge said that he didn't like the way she looked at Nick with love in her eyes; that should only belong to Ridge. Brooke told him she didn't want to worry about his feelings every time she was with Nick. Ridge said she had a connection to Nick and it was obvious in the way they looked at each other.
Rick sat with the wedding planner at Il Giardino, but Taylor didn't show up. Rick explained that she was running late. He and the planner talked about sampling food and wedding cakes. Rick wasn't really listening to her as he wondered where Taylor was. The planner flirted with Rick and he asked her to make a meal with the selections he had chosen.
At Taylor's, Taylor was getting ready for the birthday party and wrapping a gift for Jack. Stephanie told Taylor that she still had a chance to get back together with Ridge. Taylor said she couldn't get her hopes up. Stephanie told Taylor that she had hoped all along that Taylor would end up with Ridge, and encouraged Taylor to fight for him. Stephanie hugged Taylor and they said they had missed each other. Taylor added that she and Ridge had moved on to other people. Stephanie said that Rick was too young for Taylor. Taylor admitted that she missed her family being together, but she knew Rick loved her. Taylor left and Stephanie called to find out where Rick was.
At Nick's, Taylor arrived for the birthday party, but found Brooke arguing with Ridge. Taylor told them she didn't want Jack being a part of that negative environment. Taylor told Brooke she couldn't believe that Brooke was still waffling between Ridge and Nick. Ridge admitted to Taylor that he had a problem with Nick and Brooke looking at each other. Brooke tried to downplay the argument and said everything was fine.
Taylor wondered if she made a mistake giving Jack to Brooke, but Brooke insisted everything was fine. The heated discussion continued, and Ridge and Taylor left to get away from the party.
Nick asked Brooke what was wrong, and Jackie huffed out of the party. Nick and Brooke discussed that Ridge was upset about the photo. Brooke told Nick they needed to be more sensitive about Ridge's feelings.
Rick called Taylor's phone, but she didn't answer, and he sat with the wedding planner, as they were ready to eat the sample meal. Stephanie arrived and interrupted. Stephanie blabbed that she didn't think Taylor would marry Rick, because Stephanie believed that Taylor was still in love with Ridge. Rick said he knew all about his mother baiting Taylor and the ensuing conversation. Stephanie told Rick it was much more than that. She had just left Taylor and had an interesting conversation with her. Stephanie didn't think Taylor had forgotten Ridge. Rick refused to believe Stephanie and insisted that he and Taylor would be getting married. Rick brought up all of Ridge's shortcomings with women, including his mom. He excused himself and left.
Ridge and Taylor shared some time together at his office. Taylor hated the fact that Brooke had made her angry and had such an effect on her, and Ridge apologized for interfering with Jack's birthday party. Taylor said she didn't blame him.
Taylor told Ridge that she agreed with him that Brooke and Nick were being insensitive. She added that she never thought about the impact Jack would have on Ridge's relationship with Brooke. Ridge told her not to worry. He wished that Taylor had come to him earlier to discuss all of her problems. Ridge said he knew that she needed someone who understood her. Taylor admitted she had been ashamed. Ridge convinced her that he would do anything for her.
They chatted about their upcoming weddings to Rick and Brooke. Taylor wondered if Ridge would truly be able to raise Nick's baby boy. She told him to get out before it was too late, because she felt Ridge was in for a lot of misery. Brooke overheard the conversation and blew up at Taylor. Brooke said she knew that Taylor didn't love Rick, and she wanted Taylor to leave Ridge and her alone because they were getting married. "Stay the hell away from us," she shouted.

Friday, October 17th
Taylor, Ridge, and Brooke were all together in Ridge's office. They argued about a statement that Taylor had made and Brooke overheard. Brooke heard Taylor tell Ridge that he shouldn't marry Brooke, and Brooke was furious. They made snide remarks back and forth, and Ridge's phone rang. Eric was back in his office for his first day since becoming ill.
Eric was alone, and holding a drawing of Donna in her wedding dress, with an intent, but disappointed look on his face. He said to himself, "Donna, why would you do this?"
Back at Owen's home, Donna was crying and remembering a conversation with Pam, when Pam threatened to kill Eric if Donna did not end the marriage.
At Eric's office, Thorne, Felicia, and Stephanie came in and welcomed Eric back to the office. Ridge joined them for a moment. Thorne made a comment about Donna, and Eric quickly told them that Donna was not to be mentioned again. Stephanie said she had something she needed to attend to, and left.
Back in Ridge's office, Taylor and Brooke were still arguing about Taylor not wanting them to be married. Taylor told Brooke that she just wanted to love and care for Jack. Brooke came back with, "Like you want to love and care for Ridge?" Brooke accused Taylor of giving Jack to her just so the complications of having the baby would cause problems for her and Ridge. Taylor brought up Nick and said she didn't think the parenting arrangement was going to work out, because she overheard the argument that Ridge and Brooke had at Jack's birthday party.
Over at Owen's house, Owen was trying to cheer up Donna by suggesting a walk on the beach. Donna was freaking out because she thought Pam was watching their every move. Owen told Donna she needed to tell people the truth about what was going on between her and Pam, and said he was not afraid of Pam. Donna was in a panicked state, and said Pam would come after her family and try to kill Eric again. About that time, Stephanie rang the doorbell and Owen answered. Stephanie insisted she needed to speak with Donna. Owen didn't want to leave them alone, but Donna said she would be fine. Stephanie insisted she wanted to know the real reason Donna gave up on the marriage and did a complete turnaround. She asked what game Donna was playing and asked if Donna had ever loved Eric. Donna became angry and told Stephanie she always loved Eric and she was doing what was best for Eric by leaving him. Stephanie said, "Well, Owen doesn't seem like such a bad guy," and, "I hope I never see you again," as she left.
Back in Ridge's office, the fight was still going on between Brooke and Taylor. Taylor told Brooke she would go back to Nick, because she always did. Brooke retaliated by saying it was none of her business. Taylor got even angrier and told Brooke that anything to do with her son was her business, she carried the baby for nine months and gave him life and just wanted what was best for him. Brooke asked Taylor if she was threatening to take Jack back, and Ridge walked in to break up the ongoing argument. Brooke said she had to leave. Brooke walked over to Ridge and hugged him and gave him a very passionate kiss, then looked back at Taylor with a smile.
Back at Owen's, Owen and Donna were still discussing Donna coming clean and telling people the real reason she ended the marriage. Donna was terrified of what Pam would do. Donna became distraught and went to the terrace for some air, taking her cell phone. Owen picked up his cell phone and called Stephanie. He said there was something that she had to know. While Donna was on the terrace, her cell phone rang -- it was Eric. He asked if Donna had done anything about their divorce yet and Donna said no. Eric said, "Don't you think it is time we do?" Donna agreed, and Eric asked her to come to his office that afternoon and to bring her attorney.
Stephanie showed back up at Owen's door, and he quickly answered and hushed her when she started to talk loudly. He obviously didn't want Donna to overhear. Owen told Stephanie that Donna's story wasn't true; he wished it was for his sake, but Donna loved Eric. The real reason she ended the marriage was Pam. He told Stephanie all about the threats to Donna's family and Eric. Stephanie was shocked and asked Owen why she should believe him, he said, "Why would I lie?"
Donna was still outside and her phone rang again. Pam could be seen leaning from a window and looking through binoculars. "I can see you, but you can't see me," she said, and continued to taunt Donna. Pam wanted to know why Stephanie was back. Donna said she wasn't, because she had left. Pam disagreed and said Stephanie had come back a minute earlier. Pam laid the phone down and grimaced with pain, rubbing her temple.
Owen told Stephanie of the whole Pam problem, and said, "You have to know Donna loves Eric." Donna rushed back into the room after her phone conversation with Pam. She told Stephanie to get in her car and leave -- immediately! Donna was furious that Owen had told Stephanie. Stephanie asked if it was the truth. Donna repeated that Stephanie had to leave immediately, because Pam was watching them and she would kill Eric. She asked if Stephanie grasped the weight of the situation, and said her sister was crazy. Donna confessed that she had always loved Eric. Stephanie had a very perplexed look on her face, like the truth was finally dawning on her.
Back at Ridge's office, Taylor and Ridge were alone and discussing how Taylor feared all the controversy with Nick, Brooke, and Ridge would be bad for Jack. Taylor said that when she couldn't bond with Jack, it destroyed her confidence that she was a good mother. Ridge assured her she was a wonderful mother, and he was in awe of her ability to sacrifice her happiness for baby Jack's well-being. Taylor continued to talk, and said there was one option, even though it didn't seem right. Ridge asked what that would be. Taylor said it didn't seem right for a child to be raised by three parents, and that Jack should be raised by his own parents, Brooke and Nick. She said it seemed that was meant to be. Ridge looked at her quizzically and asked if Brooke and Nick were together, where that left Ridge. Taylor looked at Ridge and said, "With me. Maybe you should be with me." She leaned in close and softly kissed Ridge. He looked at her with a puzzled expression.

Monday, October 20th At Owen's, Donna freaked out on Owen and Stephanie. She was angry with Owen for telling Stephanie about Pam. Stephanie told Donna her sister was ill. Donna told her to leave. She worried to both Owen and Stephanie that Pam was watching, and they were all in danger. She was especially worried about Eric. Donna told them that Pam had threatened to kill Eric if Donna messed up. Stephanie wondered whom Pam had threatened. Owen told her that Pam had threatened everyone in Donna's family, but most seriously Eric, whom Pam had poisoned.
Donna told Stephanie that Pam had already confessed to hurting Marcus and Beth. Stephanie offered to help, but Donna told her to go before Pam became more suspicious. As soon as Stephanie left, Donna got a call from Pam who wondered why Stephanie was at the house. Donna lied that Stephanie wanted Donna to hurry up and sign divorce papers with Eric. Donna told Pam that she was going to the office to meet Eric to sign the papers. Pam was furious and insisted that Donna could not see Eric. Donna countered that she had to sign the papers to end her marriage. Pam appeared to be having some kind of head pain, but warned Donna that she had better not try anything because Pam was watching her every move. Pam told Donna that her meeting to sign the papers would be the last time she ever saw Eric.
Stephanie stopped in at Eric's office. Gloria, Eric's attorney came in. When Donna and Owen showed up at Eric's office, Eric couldn't believe Donna brought her lover, but Donna remained quiet. Owen told Eric that he was there only to review the papers since he was a paralegal. Donna was confident that Eric would be fair about the divorce. Eric told Donna that he was keeping the house. Donna didn't want anything and hesitated to sign the papers.
Eric couldn't believe she had nothing to say. He goaded her into signing the papers. Then, he signed the papers and stormed out. Donna accused Stephanie of enjoying the scene, but she told Donna she needed to find her sister and help her because Pam was mentally ill. Stephanie needed Donna's help. Donna said she had nothing to gain by helping Stephanie find Pam, but Stephanie said Donna would easily get Eric back if she helped.
After Taylor kissed Ridge, she admitted that she still loved him. Ridge asked what she was doing. Taylor said it was something she had wanted to do for a long time. She wanted to know what happened to all their dreams and their plans. Ridge explained that plans changed and their lives changed. They were planning to marry other people.
Taylor walked away from Ridge, and she apologized. She told him to forget the kiss. He asked what he would do if he couldn't forget the kiss. She said she knew all his feelings were still there. Ridge told Taylor she was the mother of his children and he would always love her.
Taylor said she gauged every relationship she had been in after Ridge with how happy she had been with Ridge. She said she measured the passion, the love, and everything. She said she missed their family, and Ridge agreed. Taylor said she had been repressing all her feelings for too long. She caressed his face and told him that it seemed like nothing had changed at all. Ridge grabbed her hand.
Ridge gently reminded Taylor that he and Brooke had waited a long time to be together, and he didn't want to mess that up. Taylor told him his life with Brooke was a fantasy. She reminded him that every holiday he would be watching Nick and Brooke with Jack. She warned Ridge that his dream with Brooke would be stressful because of Nick. Ridge told her that wouldn't happen.
She admitted that she would rather be with Ridge just as Brooke had said. He said it was not that simple, and he asked about Rick. She planned to end her engagement to Rick, and hoped that Ridge would end his engagement to Brooke. Taylor said she missed their family and wanted their life together again. She reminded Ridge that every time they had been separated, they found their way back to each other. She told him all he had to do was want to be together as much as she did.
Ridge said that they would never duplicate those beautiful memories of their time together. He said his future was with Brooke. He wasn't going to make mistakes again with her. Ridge said he had promised Brooke and himself to act differently and not make demands. He told Taylor he loved her. Taylor told him to stop being afraid. She reminded him that his life with Brooke would fall apart just as it had many times before, and she would be waiting for him when it happened. She kissed him, and left.
Rick returned to Taylor's empty house with wedding cake samples. Later, he came out of the shower, and Taylor had returned. Rick said he knew she was busy at Jack's party so he brought the cake to her. Taylor told Rick he had always been good to her and wonderful for her. She thanked him for always being her hero. She announced that she couldn't marry him. Rick wanted to know what was going on. She apologized repeatedly. Rick looked puzzled.

Tuesday, October 21st
In Ridge's company office, Taylor admitted her true feelings to Ridge. She declared her continued love for him and compared the acknowledgement of her true feelings as "waking up from a sleep." Taylor told Ridge that she missed being together with him and their children. She also predicted that Brooke would again disappoint him. She suggested that he could turn to her and reminded Ridge that they had been apart before and had reunited. Taylor's comment was that if Ridge really wanted to reunite with her, it could happen once again.
Taylor suggested that when Brooke and Ridge's relationship came to an end, she would be there waiting for him. Taylor decided that because of her deep feelings toward Ridge that she could not marry Rick. Taylor admitted that she had used Ridge as a measurement for her happiness since their divorce. Taylor boldly admitted that what she really wanted was to remarry Ridge.
Ridge gently responded to Taylor's disclosure of her feelings. He told her that he still loved her, but his future was with Brooke. Taylor did not believe him. She left his office with the hope that they would reunite.
In Eric's office, Donna met with Eric to sign the divorce papers. Owen, a paralegal, accompanied Donna and assisted her with the paperwork. Donna started to sign the papers. She hesitated with the last ones. Eric became enraged and told her to just sign the papers. Later, Stephanie who was still in the office, told Donna that she planned to help her with locating Pam. Donna commented that she did not know if she could trust Stephanie. Stephanie bitterly acknowledged that she was the only one who could help Pam and Donna. She commented that, with her help, Donna could get Eric back.
Meanwhile at Eric's house, Stephanie was surprised that Eric had planned a dinner and was apologetic towards her. She decided to inform him of the truth about why Donna divorced him. She explained that due to mental illness, Pam had threatened to harm Donna, Eric, and Donna's entire family if Donna had not divorced him. She explained that Pam's motivation was to get Eric back for her sister. For a moment, Eric was stunned and disbelieved Stephanie's revelation.
When Taylor arrived home, Rick sensed something was wrong. Shortly after, Taylor admitted that she loved Ridge and could not marry him. Taylor confessed that she did not realize the depth of her feelings. Rick assumed that Brooke had convinced Taylor not to marry him. Rick was heartbroken and distraught when Taylor called the wedding off.
Rick telephoned Ridge and demanded that he meet with him at the Forrester Creations corporate offices. Ridge assumed that Taylor had called off her wedding to Rick. Ridge tried to calm Brooke and agreed to accept responsibility for Taylor and Rick's breakup, rather than her. When Rick saw Ridge, he called him an arrogant jerk who had hurt all of the women he was ever involved with, including Brooke and Taylor. Rick voiced more hostility and became angrier.

Wednesday, October 22nd
At the Forrester mansion, Stephanie and Eric hoped that Stephanie's undisclosed plan would work to get Pam to come out of hiding. Stephanie said she had recruited Donna to help. At Owen's, Donna worried that Pam wouldn't fall for Stephanie's plan to get Pam over to the Forrester mansion. Pam was watching and called Donna. Pam said Donna looked so sad that she ought to try cucumber slices for her puffy eyes.
Pam said she was sure that Stephanie was celebrating her reunion with Eric. Donna said Stephanie was not celebrating because her mother was sick. Pam didn't believe her. Donna told Pam she was sorry, but Pam should call Stephanie. Pam called Stephanie who confirmed that their mother was ill. Stephanie begged Pam to come to the house to see their mother.
Owen and Donna watched as Pam raced out of the house next door. They called Stephanie and told her that the plan worked. When Pam arrived at Stephanie's, an ambulance sat in front of the Forrester house, planted by Stephanie to convince Pam that her mother was ill. Pam cried outside the door, hoping her mother wasn't dying.
Inside, Eric and Stephanie wondered where Pam was and hoped she would arrive soon. Stephanie shooed Eric upstairs for his safety. She said she wanted to talk to Pam alone. Eric disagreed at first, but finally agreed. Pam knocked and Stephanie opened the door. She hugged Pam and told her sister how happy she was to find out that she was okay. Pam wanted to see her mother, but Stephanie explained that she needed to talk to her first. Stephanie grabbed her sister's hands and told her that their mother was not there. Pam questioned why Stephanie would lie to her. Stephanie explained that she knew everything Pam had done, and she knew why Pam had done it. Pam immediately spouted off that she never intended for Eric to get hurt. Stephanie told her they had to talk. She wanted to help Pam.
Taylor barged into Brooke's house and encountered her in her bedroom. Brooke wondered how Taylor got in, and then Brooke laid into Taylor for breaking Rick's heart. Taylor countered that Brooke had wanted them to break up, and since they had, she still wasn't happy. Brooke said she had warned Taylor and Rick earlier that their relationship would not work.
Brooke chastised Taylor for throwing herself at Ridge, a man she couldn't have. She warned Taylor that Brooke and Ridge were committed to each other. Taylor said that when she and Ridge kissed, Ridge didn't seem like a man committed to Brooke. Surprised at the kissing news, Brooke deflected it. She said it must not have meant anything to Ridge because he didn't mention it. Taylor stayed on track and told Brooke that she was confident Brooke's relationship with Ridge would blow up, and Taylor would be waiting when it did. Brooke haughtily declared that absolutely nothing would keep Brooke and Ridge apart.
At the rooftop lounge atop Forrester Creations, Rick and Ridge argued. Rick laid into Ridge for ruining his life by leading Taylor on and making her believe that there was hope for a relationship with Ridge. Rick was convinced that Ridge persuaded Taylor not to marry him. Ridge argued that he was very clear to Taylor that he was marrying Brooke and that he would not have a relationship with Taylor. He told Rick that Taylor made the decision not to marry Rick on her own. He said Taylor didn't love Rick. He said it was obvious that Rick wanted to blame someone, but it wasn't Ridge's fault. Rick disagreed and continued to blast Ridge for everything he had done to his family.
Rick said Ridge had hurt Brooke, Taylor, Bridget, Rick, and Eric. Rick was furious and told Ridge that he would not allow Ridge to hurt anyone in his family again. Ridge apologized, but Rick continued to harass him until Ridge finally lost his temper and told Rick it was his own fault that he lost Taylor. Ridge softened a bit and said he knew Rick wanted a family of his own and that it wasn't meant to happen with Taylor. Ridge reiterated that he planned a life with Brooke, not Taylor. He said that Rick was too young to understand that Taylor was dwelling on her past life with Ridge and the kids. Ridge wasn't going back to that, and he started to walk away.
Rick warned Ridge not to walk away from him. He punched Ridge and knocked him down. Ridge warned Rick to stop. Rick didn't listen and popped him again. Then, Rick baited Ridge to get up. Ridge warily stood up with a bloodied face. Rick got behind Ridge and started to choke him in a headlock. Ridge fell backwards with Rick on his back. As Ridge gasped for air, Rick wound up precariously balanced in a sitting position on the narrow brick ledge that surrounded the rooftop lounge.
Rick still had one arm wrapped around Ridge's throat in a choke hold, but Ridge broke the hold and Rick lost his balance on the narrow wall and fell to the ground below. He was sprawled on his back unconscious as Ridge screamed his name.

Thursday, October 23rd At the Forrester mansion, Pam talked about how her mother was never around for her and Stephanie when they were young. She said their mom wanted to pretend they had the perfect family. Pam said she regretted that she couldn't help Stephanie when their father beat her. Stephanie said she understood.
Pam said all her recent actions were because she was trying to help Stephanie. Pam couldn't live with herself for letting their father beat her as a child. Pam confessed that one of their teachers, Mr. Garcia, knew something was wrong when they were kids. Pam admitted that Mr. Garcia had asked her repeatedly about abuse at home, but Pam said she lied that everything was fine. Stephanie hugged Pam and told her it would be all right.
Pam frantically told Stephanie she wanted to make it up to Stephanie that she couldn't help her when they were young. Pam admitted she had made mistakes, and she never meant to hurt anyone. She just wanted to scare them. Eric asked why Pam would hurt him. Pam remembered that her mother had said Pam would make a better wife to Eric than Stephanie would. She babbled about her mother, and Stephanie agreed their mother didn't understand marriage.
Pam said she was angry with Eric. She wanted him to remember that he loved Stephanie, not Donna. Pam wanted him to remember that he belonged with Stephanie. Pam couldn't believe that Eric had hurt Stephanie so much by chasing after Donna, a woman who was so much younger than he was. Pam resented Donna for killing Tiny. Eric reminded Pam that Tiny died from a heart attack and Donna had nothing to do with it.
Pam said that every time anyone hurt Stephanie, she wanted to rescue her because she couldn't do it when she was younger. Pam believed Eric had hurt Stephanie by marrying Donna. Stephanie explained that Eric and Stephanie had a wonderful marriage, but Eric had loved other women. She told Pam that Eric loved Donna, and Pam needed to accept it. Pam refused and started to break down. Pam said she couldn't understand what was wrong with her mind. She knew she hadn't taken her medication, but she thought it was more. She was afraid she was crazy. She wanted Stephanie to put her to sleep.
Stephanie uncovered the truth about everything. Pam admitted that she had sent the snake to Donna, but never intended for it to bite anyone, especially Marcus. Eric asked Pam about nearly running Beth Logan down with a car. Pam said she never meant to hit Beth, but didn't turn away fast enough. She just wanted to scare the Logan family.
Pam admitted she told Donna that if Stephanie couldn't have Eric, no one could. Pam dismissed it and said she really didn't mean it.
Stephanie recognized that Pam was frightened. Eric and Stephanie listened as Pam babbled about her hair and what she had always wanted to do. She said she wanted to be a nurse, but her parents discouraged her from pursuing a career. Her father said she was too pretty, and her mother insisted nursing was too dirty. Instead, she had taken care of their mother. Pam cried at what she had become as she looked in the mirror at her disheveled hair and clothing.
Stephanie told Pam she needed help, and Stephanie promised to take her to the hospital. Pam told Stephanie she was a bad person and needed to be locked up away from people so that she couldn't hurt anyone. Pam continued to jabber, then stopped and appeared to pass out as Stephanie hugged her and Eric offered support.
At Owen's house, Donna worried that Stephanie's plan might have backfired. Donna was concerned that Pam would try to hurt Eric again, but Owen was confident Stephanie had control. Donna wondered about Pam's mental illness. Donna was concerned that Pam loved Eric.
At Forrester, Rick and Ridge scuffled and Rick fell off the roof. Ridge raced down the stairs and asked a guard to call 9-1-1. Ridge begged an unconscious Rick, who was sprawled on his back on the pavement, to hang in there until the ambulance arrived. After Rick was taken to the hospital, Ridge called Brooke and told her there had been an accident.
At the hospital, Bridget took over to find out what happened. Ridge apologized to Brooke and told her about the fight that sent Rick flying off the building. He assured her it was nothing like what happened in Australia. Ridge started to explain, but Brooke asked him if he had anything to do with it. Bridget interrupted and told Brooke she could see Rick. Bridget wondered why the police had stopped to see Rick.
Brooke stood over her son and begged him to wake up. Bridget said the doctors had run some tests and Rick would be in surgery if his doctors felt he needed it. Bridget said some horrible things could have happened, and they didn't.
Brooke hovered over Rick who remained unconscious. Brooke asked where Rick's doctor was. Brooke dramatically worried about God taking her child from her. She begged Rick to open his eyes.
Rick opened his eyes and saw Brooke and Bridget. Brooke told him he was in the hospital, and she knew he would be fine. She told him she loved him so much. She kissed his hand. Brooke kissed her son's head, and Bridget looked relieved while Ridge looked anxious.

Friday, October 24th
At the hospital, Stephanie and Eric awaited word on what was wrong with Pam, who was unconscious. One of the hospital staff pointed out that Pam was a fugitive and wanted by the police. Stephanie begged them to help her sister. Doctors said they would certainly help Pam, but they had to notify the police.
After an MRI, a doctor explained that they had discovered a mass in Pam's brain. The doctor believed it was scar tissue that was putting pressure on her brain, and it had to be removed. The doctor said an old injury must have precipitated the scar tissue that had recently repositioned in the brain. Stephanie said Pam had fallen down the stairs as a child while running away from their father.
Stephanie inquired if the mass would have prompted Pam's erratic behavior, and the doctor agreed it was a possibility. Stephanie asked to see Pam before surgery.
At Owen's house, Donna worried about what happened with Pam, Stephanie, and Eric. She called the Forrester house and Eric answered. Donna was surprised to hear his voice, and she asked if he was all right. Eric briefly told Donna that Stephanie's plan had worked, and something was terribly wrong with Pam. He had to go to the hospital to meet Stephanie, and he promised to call her later.
Donna worried to Owen that Eric was falling for Stephanie again. Stephanie had had weeks to show Eric how much she loved him. Owen said he knew that Eric loved Donna, and vice versa. Donna apologized to Owen and told him that if it hadn't been Eric she fell in love with, it would have been Owen.
At the hospital, Eric offered to stay with Stephanie and Pam, but Stephanie was gracious and told Eric she appreciated his thoughtfulness. She knew he wanted to see Donna, so she sent him off to visit Donna. Stephanie told Eric she appreciated his thoughtfulness more than he would ever know. She kissed him and they embraced.
Before surgery, Stephanie told an unconscious Pam that she would be fine, but she had to fight. Stephanie said Pam's injuries were related to their father's violence, and she warned Pam not to let their father win. He had stolen their childhood and their innocence. Stephanie told Pam to fight to get well because the best was yet to come.
At the Forrester mansion, Donna met with Eric, and he told her that Pam was not well. Eric said he felt sorry for Pam, but Donna couldn't agree, since Pam was so dangerous. Eric couldn't believe that Donna would sacrifice their marriage to save his life. He was honored that she would do something so noble, and said no one had ever done anything like that for him.
Donna said she hated that she had to hurt him, but she told Eric that while he was trying to make up with her at Brooke's, Pam was on the balcony with a gun. Pam had threatened Donna and her family if she didn't end her marriage to Eric. Donna was afraid Pam would shoot Eric if she didn't end it.
Eric wondered why Donna didn't come to him secretly after Pam left, but Donna said she was terrified that Pam would find out. Eric told her he was worried that something could have happened to Donna. She cried and fell into his arms, relieved that they were both all right.
In another area at the hospital, Rick was alert and joking until he noticed Ridge in his room. He warned Ridge to get out of the room. Rick wondered why anyone would allow Ridge in the hospital room, since he had attacked Rick. Bridget asked everyone to leave as Rick continued to shout at Ridge about knocking him off the building, while Ridge insisted it was an accident. Bridget tried to get Rick to calm down and relax.
In another room, Brooke was teary-eyed when she asked Ridge what had happened. Ridge said he did not push Rick off the building. Brooke accused Ridge of starting a fight with Rick and antagonizing him, but Ridge told Brooke that it was Rick who started the fight. Ridge said Rick was out of his mind with anger, and there was nothing he could do to calm him down.
Ridge said he tried to walk away, but Rick punched him. Ridge told her he walked away again, and Rick punched him again. The final time Ridge tried to walk away, Rick grabbed him from behind and started to choke him. Ridge was convinced that Rick would have killed him if he hadn't broken Rick's chokehold on him. Brooke was conflicted about what to believe, but she hugged Ridge.
Bridget and another doctor talked to Rick and told him he was very lucky. Rick said the painkillers were working, and he really couldn't feel anything.
When Ridge and Brooke returned to the room, the doctor told them how lucky Rick was. He said he would perform a neurological exam on Rick. He told Rick he would feel a prickling sensation in his legs, and he rolled an instrument along Rick's leg. He continued to roll the instrument back and forth, but Rick asked when the test would start.
Bridget looked at Rick in shock as the doctor asked Rick if he felt anything. Rick responded that he felt nothing. He wondered when the doctor was starting the test.
Bridget and the doctor looked at Rick as Brooke tensed up in horror. Rick looked up frightened and felt his legs with his hands and gasped, "I'm paralyzed. I'm paralyzed!"
Ridge was clearly agitated and guilt-ridden.

Monday, October 27th
At the hospital, Rick cried out that he could not feel his legs and was terrified that he was paralyzed. Brooke and Bridget discussed further tests, but Rick claimed his problem was obvious: he was paralyzed. He also berated Ridge for causing not only the recent accident, but for taking his mother away from his father when Rick was a child. He shouted at Ridge to leave and warned him that being in a wheelchair would not prevent him from protecting his mother. Ridge and Brooke stepped outside the room, and Ridge tried to comfort her.
Eric and Donna had a touching reunion, and Eric blamed himself for not helping Donna handle Pam. He explained that Pam was not just crazy, but that doctors had found a mass of scar tissue in her brain, the result of a childhood injury. Pam was undergoing surgery, so Donna decided to go to the hospital, and Eric accompanied her.
Stephanie waited at the hospital to hear word of Pam's surgery. Donna and Eric found her, and Donna continued her harangue that Pam was a psychopathic killer. A nurse came to tell Stephanie that her sister had survived the surgery well and was headed to recovery. Donna ranted that Pam should be behind bars for the rest of her life.
Eric came in and the nurse explained to the family that because Pam was a prisoner, she would soon be transferred to a state facility for recovery and rehab. Donna was still reluctant to believe that the tumor the doctors had removed was responsible for all Pam's aberrant behavior.
Bridget told her mother and Ridge that Rick's MRI showed his paralysis was caused by a swelling around the spinal cord, and there was no apparent damage to the cord itself. The doctors were hopeful that time would reduce the swelling and that Rick could walk again. Ridge assured Brooke that there was no way he would hurt her son intentionally.
Stephanie went to see Pam, who was coming out of anesthesia. Donna wanted to know where the police were, and Stephanie snapped that the nurse had already explained how the tumor had caused her sister's strange thoughts and actions. Pam suddenly awoke and asked for her pet, Tiny. Stephanie explained that Tiny had died months earlier, but Pam had no memory of that. Donna spoke up and listed all the horrible things Pam had done to her and her family, but Pam was most concerned about the loss of her pet.
Brooke asked Rick if he had heard the good news from Bridget about his MRI, but he was not encouraged. He told her to let Ridge go and to put him first in her life. He begged her to get Ridge Forrester out of their lives, once and for all.

Tuesday, October 28th
From his hospital bed, Rick ranted to his mother that Ridge had pushed him off the terrace wall and that he was almost was killed by the fall. He continued his unabated tirade against Ridge to Brooke. He made it clear to his mother that he did not want her to marry that horrible person. Rick commented that he always felt that he had come in second to Ridge. He informed his mother that if she couldn't get Ridge out of her life, he would get out of her life. Rick again threatened Brooke that if she married Ridge, she was out of his life. Brooke protested to Rick that she and Ridge were committed to one another. He didn't want to hear anything that Brooke had to say about Ridge.
After Brooke left, Rick dwelled on his accident. He recalled the struggle with Ridge that led to his subsequent fall. As Rick continued to wallow in misery over his fall and injuries, Taylor arrived. He rudely asked her to leave, but she chose to stay, anyway. She responded to Rick's rudeness and told him that she still cared about him. He raged at Taylor and told her that "Ridge put [him] in a wheelchair." He sarcastically described what his relationship with her had been. He told Taylor that he was a "crutch" that she used to build herself up and regain her self-confidence so she could pursue Ridge. Although Taylor attempted to calm him, Rick would not accept that Taylor did not treat him as he described. He told her that their relationship was the best thing that she ever had. He asked why she had ended their relationship to reunite with Ridge, who had treated her badly before? Rick demanded that she leave his room. Taylor left, but told him she would always care about him.
After Taylor left, Steffy stopped by to visit with Rick. Rick described her father as the love of Taylor's life. He called him "the great and powerful Ridge Forrester." Steffy questioned if Taylor really loved Ridge. Rick warned Steffy that he could no longer stand Ridge's arrogance, and he planned to stop Brooke from marrying Ridge.
Meanwhile, at home, Broke informed Ridge that Rick had threatened her that if she remarried Ridge, he would be out of her life. Ridge asked her not to worry about it. They were committed to their family, and things would work themselves out.
At the hospital, Pam recovered from brain surgery. Donna disbelieved that the surgery took place. She believed it was a scheme of Stephanie's to stop her from testifying against Pam. Eric showed Donna that the surgery was real. He rationalized if Pam's erratic behavior was due to a brain tumor, the police should not arrest her, and he did not want her charged with a crime.
Stephanie explained to Donna and Eric that Pam couldn't receive proper medical or mental health treatment in prison, and required a psychiatric hospital. Stephanie reminded Donna that Stephanie showed compassion for Donna's brother, Storm, after he shot Stephanie. She asked Donna to show the same mercy for Pam.
Ann arrived from Chicago to be with Pam. She begged Donna to show compassion to Pam. She promised that if Donna did not testify, Ann would take Pam to Chicago to a hospital for treatment.
Donna finally agreed not to press charges against Pam. She informed Stephanie that her request was that Ann would take Pam to Chicago, "place her in a hospital somewhere safe, and keep her there." Stephanie and Ann expressed their gratitude to Donna and thanked her.
Later, Donna went back into Pam's hospital room. Pam thanked Donna for not pressing charges. She apologized for her bad behavior. However, Donna didn't believe that her apology was genuine. Pam wanted to know if Donna had forgiven her for all the trouble she had caused. Pam explained that without Donna's forgiveness "she just couldn't bear it." Pam's choice of words, "bear it," worried Donna.
Brooke went to Taylor's office. She blamed her for causing Rick's injury. Brooke badmouthed Taylor and became completely irrational. Brooke said that she had declared war on Taylor.

Wednesday, October 29th
At Nick's, the babysitter from next door held Jack and told Katie that she just loved watching Katie's son. Katie admitted that Jack was actually her sister's son, but Katie loved him like he was her own. Katie asked the sitter if she took Jack to the park so he could play, and the sitter said that she had. Katie said she loved the park almost as much as Jack did. Katie loved seeing all the kids and the moms.
Katie told the sitter she was getting busier at work and she might need the sitter more often. After the sitter left, Katie sat and held Jack. She told him that she felt like his mom, and she wished that she were his mom.
Nick walked in and overheard Katie. He interrupted and said he was glad to see his two favorite people. Katie said Jack was such a great kid, and everyone thought so - all the moms at the park and even the babysitter.
Katie said she felt like Jack was really starting to bond with her, and felt that Jack should stay with them full-time until the crisis with Rick's paralysis had passed. Nick said he didn't think it was a good idea because they had agreed that Jack needed stability. Nick pointed out that Brooke was the boy's mother. Katie sarcastically agreed. She said they couldn't forget that Brooke was Jack's biological mother. She said, "Jack is the child you share with my sister."
At Taylor's office, Brooke and Taylor argued. Brooke shouted at Taylor that Rick was paralyzed because of Taylor. She told Taylor that Rick was devastated when Taylor dumped Rick because she wanted Ridge.
Taylor admitted that her life had gone into a tailspin when she met Rick and he saved her. Brooke raged at her that while Rick was planning a wedding for Taylor, she was busy pursuing Ridge. As a result, Brooke said her son was lying in a hospital bed, but she said she should be grateful that Rick wasn't lying dead in a ditch like Darla.
Brooke wondered how many people Taylor had hurt with her recklessness. Taylor admitted she had tried to find comfort in drinking and in other men, but only after Brooke took Ridge away from Taylor more than once.
Taylor turned the tables and reminded Brooke that Rick had grown up taking care of her when she was crying all night over men. Taylor told Brooke that it was no wonder Rick was drawn to older women like Ashley and Taylor, because he was so neglected by his own mother.
Brooke scowled at Taylor as Taylor shouted that she wouldn't take any more of Brooke's garbage. Taylor said she was done playing fair with Brooke. She told her it was war, and Taylor planned to take back her territory and her husband. Brooke sneered that if Ridge wanted to be with Taylor, he would have been with her. She insisted that Ridge would be staying with Brooke and her children. She said there was nothing that Taylor could do about it.
Taylor smiled and said that she didn't think the marriage would ever happen, but if it did, she would respect Brooke's marriage the same way Brooke respected her marriage. Taylor warned that things were going to be different. She added that she was not the same sweet goody-two shoes she was before, because she had hit rock bottom and had nothing to lose. She planned to claw her way back up and didn't care how long it took to get what she wanted.
Brooke squinted and said she couldn't believe that Taylor would keep banging her head against the wall, but she smirked that Taylor could knock herself out. Brooke said she had felt sorry for Taylor giving up Rick and Jack, but she knew she was wasting her time. Brooke said she was beginning to believe that psychiatrists were usually craziest of all.
Taylor warned Brooke that when Ridge tired of Brooke's lack of commitment, he would be looking for a safe place, and Taylor would be waiting. Taylor announced that she was taking back what was hers, "and there is nothing you can do stop me."
At the hospital, Eric tried to calm Rick down, but Rick expressed his disgust and anger about Ridge. Eric promised to find a specialist to help Rick. He told Rick that he was young and strong, and that the entire family would help him get well. Rick said it wouldn't be the entire family. Rick said if it weren't for Ridge, Rick wouldn't be paralyzed. Rick refused to believe that his condition was an accident. Rick blamed Ridge for trying to keep him out of the family and the company for years.
Rick said that Ridge's arrogance was out of control. Eric replied that Rick was angry because Taylor had broken the engagement. Eric said he knew that Rick loved Taylor. Rick interrupted and said that Ridge was using Taylor and his mother the same way he always had. Rick said that Ridge had opened the door with Taylor again and told her he still had feelings for her. Rick was convinced Ridge did it to ramp up his mom's insecurities. Rick was convinced that Ridge wanted to keep these two women at each other's throats forever. Rick insisted that Ridge wasn't going to get away with it again. Rick wouldn't allow it.
Eric said he understood that Rick was in a bad place. He knew he had lost feeling in his legs and he was confused and hurt by Taylor. Eric told Rick his legs and heart would heal. Rick said he would heal, but he wouldn't forgive Ridge. Rick told Eric that he had urged his mom to end her relationship with Ridge. Eric begged Rick to set aside his negativity, but Rick told Eric to stop defending Ridge.
Ridge met with Stephanie and told her that the accident with Rick happened when Rick was choking him. He told Stephanie that Rick thought it was all Ridge's fault that Taylor called off the wedding. Stephanie wondered about Brooke, and Ridge admitted that Brooke was very worried.
Ridge tried to change the subject and asked about Pam. Stephanie said Pam didn't remember anything. Ann wanted to get her into a psychiatric facility in Chicago. Ridge wondered how that would happen, but Stephanie assured him that Eric and Donna agreed not to testify against Pam, so the police didn't have a case. Ridge was surprised that Eric and Donna agreed. He asked if Eric had called off the divorce, and Stephanie said she didn't know.
Stephanie brought the conversation back to how elated she was that Taylor didn't marry Rick because she was still in love with Ridge. Stephanie told Ridge that he was always happiest with Taylor and never had any real long-term happiness with Brooke. When he was with Taylor, Stephanie insisted Ridge had peace and contentment. She dared him to look her in the eye and tell her that he didn't love Taylor. Ridge admitted he would always care about Taylor. Stephanie encouraged him to pursue his family with Taylor.

Thursday, October 30th
At the hospital, Rick was impatient as he told his mother and Bridget that he had a difficult time sleeping because he couldn't move his legs. Bridget suggested a sleeping aid because he needed his rest in order to get well.
The doctor entered and told Rick that it was understandable that he was impatient. The doctor agreed they had no way of knowing how long the paralysis would last, but normally swelling around a spinal cord dissipated with rest. He stimulated Rick's foot, and his foot moved. The doctor asked Rick if he felt it, and Rick said he thought so. The doctor stimulated his foot again and Rick's foot moved again. Rick laughed and said he felt it. Rick, Brooke, and Bridget were elated.
The doctor told Rick that the movement was a very good sign. Rick asked if he could be released. The doctor said he thought it would be a great idea, since Rick would recover more comfortably at home. Bridget asked where Rick wanted to stay. Brooke insisted that Rick would stay with her so she could take care of him. Rick said he would enjoy some quality time and wanted to stay with his mom. Brooke asked Bridget to get the release papers. Rick stopped her and insisted he would not be in the same house with Ridge. Rick asked his mother to ask Ridge to leave. Rick became angry when his mother tried to talk him out of making Ridge leave. Rick shouted that Brooke's relationship with Ridge was not good for his mother.
Bridget said it would be best if Rick stayed with her because she could take care of him and he wouldn't be in the same house as Ridge. Brooke told Rick that he needed to be with his mother. Rick apologized and said that he couldn't be in the same house as Ridge. He shouted that Ridge tried to kill him, but Brooke insisted it was an accident. Rick became angrier. Brooke told Rick to calm down. She said she would take care of everything and return for him later.
At Brooke's house, Nick and Katie showed up to pick up Jack, and Nick wondered why Ridge wasn't at the hospital with Brooke. Ridge explained that Rick didn't want him there. Nick scoffed and told Ridge that he knew what happened. Nick said Rick was angry because Ridge led Taylor to believe that Ridge wanted her back again. Nick accused Ridge of throwing Rick off the building. Ridge said it was an accident, and that Rick was enraged and attacked him. Ridge said he was only defending himself. Nick asked Ridge how it felt to be right back in the middle between Taylor and Brooke again.
Nick said he didn't want Jack living in a house where Rick and Ridge would be fighting. Ridge became angry and said Nick needed to respect his decisions. Ridge insisted that everything would work out and that he and Brooke would be married, and no one was going to interfere.
At Taylor's house, Thomas had returned home, and Taylor met with Stephanie, Thomas, and Steffy. Taylor told her kids that she wanted their father back. She said that Ridge's relationship with Brooke wasn't good, and it wasn't healthy. Stephanie agreed. Taylor said she wanted to show Ridge that he would be happier with her family.
Taylor added that she knew something about addictions, and she believed that Brooke was an addiction for Ridge. Taylor was convinced that Brooke intoxicated Ridge with her affection. Taylor knew that Brooke would let Ridge down again, and she inquired if that was what the kids wanted for their dad.
Thomas said that he had always wanted his parents back together, but he didn't see how it was possible, since Ridge loved Brooke and planned to marry her.
Taylor said she planned to fight for Ridge. She said she gave him up before because Ridge convinced her that he would be happier with Brooke. Taylor insisted she was going to get Ridge back whether anyone wanted to help her or not.
Stephanie said that she believed Brooke needed to be with Nick rather than Ridge. Taylor said that Ridge and Brooke were going to be challenged with the situation with Rick, and she knew Ridge would feel trapped.
Taylor said Brooke had been a good parent to Phoebe, Steffy, and Thomas while Taylor was gone, and she didn't mean to diminish that. Taylor added that Brooke was wrong for Ridge. She said that Ridge was never truly calm and happy with Brooke. There was always conflict.
Thomas worried that if Taylor put all her efforts into Ridge, she would be devastated if the relationship with Ridge didn't work. Steffy agreed. Taylor told the kids she was much tougher than she had ever been. She also told them not to worry.
Brooke returned home and gave Ridge the good news that Rick was regaining some feeling. Ridge wondered when Rick would be coming home, and Brooke looked uncomfortable. Ridge said that Rick's return would be good for all of them. He and Rick could resolve their differences and they could bond as a family.
Ridge said everything was working out, and they would be resolving conflicts. He and Brooke embraced. Brooke agreed that Rick wanted to come home, but she told Ridge that Rick didn't want Ridge in the house. Brooke said she wanted Ridge to temporarily move out. Ridge was dumbfounded, and Brooke caressed him. Brooke said she needed to ask Ridge to move out for Rick's sake.
Ridge couldn't believe that Brooke wanted him to move away from Brooke and the kids. He insisted that Rick was manipulating Brooke. He was very disappointed. Brooke promised Ridge that he wouldn't be gone for long and they would have their life together. She said everything would be fine. They embraced, and Ridge looked pensive.

Friday, October 31st
At Brooke's, Brooke and Ridge fussed over the hospital bed they brought in for Rick. Brooke told Ridge that she needed to take care of Rick. She said Rick made it clear that Brooke had not been there for him when he was young, and he needed her more than ever since he had been hurt in the fall. Ridge wanted all of them to work out their issues as a family, but Brooke said it wouldn't work.
Ridge started to argue, but Brooke told him it would only be a short time that he would need to leave the house, since Rick was regaining feeling in his legs. Eric came in as Rick was wheeled into the room and they settled him in the bed. Rick wanted to know what Ridge was doing there, and Eric offered to take Rick home to his house. Rick asked Ridge to leave. Ridge said he was going to pack a bag and go.
Ridge later returned to talk to Rick, but Rick laid into him again about how Ridge had manipulated his mother all the years that Rick and Bridget were growing up. Ridge told Rick that he and Brooke loved each other and they were going to be married. Rick replied that he wouldn't be able to stand up for Ridge because he was paralyzed after Ridge threw him off a building.
Ridge left to talk to Brooke, and he told her he would miss her. Rick watched Ridge and Brooke kiss, as he could see them on their balcony from his window. He tried to lean over to remove a picture of Brooke and Ridge from the nearby dresser, but he couldn't reach it.
Brooke returned to Rick and asked him what he wanted for lunch. He told her that he wanted a grilled ham and cheese sandwich like she used to make for him. Brooke laughed and they shared memories of Rick living with her before he left for Paris. Brooke reminded Rick that she loved him and would take care of him, but she would marry Ridge when Rick was well enough to be on his own. She left for the kitchen.
Rick again tried to reach the photograph of Ridge and Brooke, and he pulled his legs over the side of the bed so that he could sit. He was frustrated because he still couldn't reach the picture. He remembered all the times Ridge had threatened him, and he suddenly stood up and grabbed the photograph.
He surprised himself, and saw his reflection in the mirror. He took a couple of shuffled steps, and then sat down on the bed in relief. He smiled.
By the time Brooke delivered lunch, Rick had returned to bed and didn't let Brooke know that anything was different. She gave him his sandwich and then rubbed his leg, but he jumped. She asked if he felt her touch him, but he denied that he could feel anything, Brooke looked disappointed and told Rick she would be down the hall if he needed anything, After she left, Rick vowed that he would find a way to get Ridge out of his mother's house no matter what it took.
At Taylor's house, Thomas, Stephanie, and Steffy discussed that they would work together to get Ridge and Taylor back together. Taylor told everyone that she didn't want them to be plotting anything. She just wanted them to be honest.
Ridge entered Taylor's house looking for Steffy, because they had a lunch date. Taylor said Steffy was ready. Ridge shared that he was unhappy that Brooke had asked him to leave for Rick's sake. Taylor was surprised at first, but then told Ridge that Brooke was doing what Brooke always did. She was letting Ridge down again.
Steffy came out and Thomas showed up. Ridge was happy to see Thomas back in town. Stephanie came into the room, and they all told Ridge that Phoebe would have been there if she could have. Ridge wondered why they were all ganging up on him. Taylor told Ridge it shouldn't seem out of the ordinary that she wanted her family around for support.
Thomas said they just wanted Ridge to be happy and didn't think that would happen with Brooke. They wanted to be together as a family. Ridge said he was the only one who could make that decision, and Taylor asked him to consider what would make him happy.
