Monday, March 2nd
Ridge posed a hypothetical question to Brooke. If the circumstances were reversed, Ridge asked, and his son was responsible for the death of Brooke's daughter, would she be able to forgive and forget. Brooke said maybe not unless it meant she would lose Ridge and then she would have to. Ridge asked if their relationship would end if he were unable to forgive her son.
Before she answered, her phone rang. It was Rick who presumably called to check in on her. But in fact, it was only an attempt to make sure the coast was clear for Rick and Steffy to spend the night together at the beach house.
When Rick discovered Ridge was safe at home with Brooke, he told Steffy they were safe. Rick did a spot check off the beach house to ensure Stephanie wasn't hidden away in a closet like she was the last time they thought they were alone. However, they did not pull any of the window shades or pull down any blinds before making out in front of the open windows.
Steffy said it had been quite a day, and Rick reminded her that they got through it in one piece. Steffy agreed, but said Ridge looked like the life had been sucked out of him, and she hated hurting her dad. Rick said that when Ridge realized Rick really loved Steffy and was committed to her, he would accept them. He pointed out that he and Steffy were adults and didn't really have to answer to anyone, including their parents.
Rick escorted Steffy to the bedroom where he had lit dozens of candles and tossed rose petals on the bed. His show of romance took Steffy's breath away. They declared their love to one another, and Rick picked Steffy up and carried her to the bed. The two kissed and began to undress.
Ridge asked Brooke if that was Rick on the phone. She said it was. Ridge supposed that Rick called to gloat. Brooke said of course not, Rick knew it was a hot button issue between Brooke and Ridge and would not purposely cause trouble. Ridge rolled his eyes in disbelief and said Rick lived to "piss [him] off." Ridge said Rick would do anything to get under his skin.
Brooke asked Ridge to try to see the situation from her point of view. He said he had tried to, but Brooke was unable to see that Rick had manipulated both her and Steffy for his own gain. Ridge said Rick had gotten his hooks in the two women Ridge cared most about, Ridge's wife and daughter. Ridge admitted to Brooke that he was filled with despair and hate.
Brooke suggested that the three of them, Ridge, Brooke, and Rick, find a therapist and work together to find a solution to all the anger and hatred that developed after Phoebe's death. Ridge said Rick was a liar and would not be honest with a therapist. Ridge asked Brooke again to keep her son away from him. He said he lost one daughter to Rick and didn't want to lose another, or to lose Brooke. She assured him that wouldn't happen, but Ridge said he felt like he had lost her already because the love and hate and grief were all tangled up inside of him. Brooke again suggested that they get help, but as soon as she tossed Rick in as part of the package, Ridge screamed "No! Not now, not ever, not for any reason."
After Ridge and Brooke went to bed, Brooke slept while Ridge muttered to himself and said he would do whatever it took to keep his precious Steffy safe.
Pam, Thorne, Owen, Marcus, Donna, and Eric were in a heated debate about Rick staying in the role of president at Forrester. Thorne, in typical Thorne fashion, complained that it wasn't fair. His crazy Aunt Pam took Thorne's side and reminded Eric about all the horrible things Rick had done. Pam said Rick needed to be taught a lesson. Apparently it hadn't dawned on Pam that Eric gave Pam her old job back after she soaked Donna in honey and tried to get a bear to eat her just a few months before. Eric stated that Eric was the president of Forrester Creations, and a fine businessman. Eric demanded that the family treat Rick with respect, and said he was tired of all their whining. Marcus and Owen agreed with Aunt Pam, but remained silent because Donna sided with Eric and defended her nephew.
When Eric and Donna were alone, Donna pleaded with Eric to fire Pam. She said Pam was dangerous, and when Donna heard the way Pam was talking, it reminded her of all the things Pam had done in the past to harm their family. Eric said Pam was all bluster and should not concern Donna. Donna had to remind Eric that Pam poisoned his lemon bars and nearly killed him. Eric countered by reminding Donna that was before her brain surgery and there had not been any evidence that Pam was still a threat. Donna said Pam was a psychopath and asked Eric to seriously consider removing Pam from the company. Eric said he couldn't do that to Stephanie because Pam was her sister.
Back in the conference room, Thorne, Pam, Owen, and Marcus discussed their hatred for Rick. Owen said as soon as Rick got back to work, Owen would be fired. Pam said not if something happened to Rick first. Marcus asked what kind of thing might happen, and Pam said she didn't know, but had a creepy glint in her eye. She covered and said maybe Brooke would change her mind and fire Rick, after all. Marcus said he hoped so, because he and Steffy had a strong relationship before Rick weaseled his way in between them. Aunt Pam agreed that Steffy should not be with Rick.
Thorne asked Marcus and Owen if they wanted to get a drink. Owen said it would take him five drinks to get Rick out of his head. Marcus declined and said he would be lousy company. When the three of them left, Aunt Pam got that squirrelly look in her eye like she was concocting a dastardly plan.

Tuesday, March 3
Steffy and Rick were in bed together, having made love and ready to make love again. Steffy said she would never walk away from Rick because she waited all her life to have the kind of love they shared. Steffy finally was dressed and ready to say goodbye to Rick. They were outside the beach house and she said she would never give up on him. The lovers were barely able to say goodbye, kissing and clutching till the last possible moment.
From the front entrance of his house, Ridge called Taylor to ask about Steffy and learned that she wasn't home yet. Worried and anxious, Ridge headed out, presumably to find his daughter.
Brooke woke up to find that Ridge wasn't in bed and hadn't slept beside her. She got up and looked for him. He wasn't in the house. Brooke called Rick to tell him that Ridge was gone and she had a bad feeling. She warned Rick that Ridge might be on his way to see him. She asked Rick not to get into a fight with Ridge. Rick was grateful for the warning and said he wouldn't do anything foolish. He locked the door and waited to see if Ridge showed up.
Outside Rick's house, someone approached the door and peered into the window before reaching for a container of lighter fluid and squirting it all over the front door. The welcome mat was then set on fire by the unknown, gloved person. Soon, the entire door was engulfed in flames.
Steffy got home and was giddy about her night of passion with Rick. She couldn't get over how wonderful making love to Rick had been. She called Rick to tell him again that she thought it was the most romantic night of her life. Steffy promised him that her parents would never separate them.
Taylor discovered Steffy grinning like a girl in love and mooning about her night with Rick. Taylor warned her daughter to stop seeing Rick, but Steffy wouldn't take advice from Taylor, especially about Rick. Taylor told Steffy that Rick was manipulating her, but Steffy wouldn't believe that.
At Forrester Creations, Pam gave Marcus a message. They were working very late, but had both been away for a while. Pam said she had been on an errand. Marcus claimed he'd taken a dinner break. Thorne was coming back from getting a drink, but claimed that he knew that Rick was home. In Rick's office, Jake was complaining about how Rick had ordered him to clean the place up. Thorne told Jake that little Ricky would be getting burned soon enough.
Meanwhile, at Rick's, when the smoke alarm went off, Rick grabbed a fire extinguisher and then a water hose to douse the flames. He put out most of the fire. When the firefighters appeared, they were impressed with how he put out the fire, and said they had to report the incident to the cops. It was too suspicious to be just an accident. Under his breath, Rick said, "Ridge," assuming that Ridge had set the fire.
Ridge returned home. Brooke rushed to his side and Ridge said he'd been out riding his motorcycle. Brooke noticed that he smelled of gasoline. He said he'd been to a gas station and resented her asking him questions. He admitted driving out to Rick's when he learned Steffy wasn't home. When he didn't see her car in the driveway, Ridge said he drove home.
While Ridge went upstairs to take a shower, Rick showed up and told Brooke that Ridge had torched his house. Brooke told Rick that Ridge wouldn't do what Rick accused him of. Brooke asked him to spend the night and to take a shower, because he smelled of smoke. Brooke realized it was the same odor she smelled on Ridge, but she didn't tell that to Rick.
Back at Forrester, Marcus told Pam he'd like to see Rick go down in flames. Pam hoped he was doing something about his hatred, not just talking.

Wednesday, March 4
Brooke replayed several conversations in her head and tried to determine if Ridge was responsible for the fire at Rick's house. Ridge arrived and noticed an extra coffee cup on the table. He asked Brooke if she expected company. She explained that Rick stayed there the night before. Ridge was very unhappy and asked why Rick didn't stay at his own house. Brooke said Rick's house had been set on fire and he had no place left to go. Ridge inquired about the beach house and how much damage it had sustained. Brooke was hurt that Ridge asked about the house and not about her son. Ridge explained that since Rick stayed at Brooke's house, apparently he survived. Brooke was appalled by his cavalier attitude.
Brooke continued and said the police suspected arson as the cause of the fire. She added that Rick believed Ridge was the arsonist. Ridge asked Brooke if she agreed with Rick. Brooke reminded Ridge that he left on his motorcycle during the night and was going to Rick's house. Ridge said he just drove by to see if Steffy's car was in Rick's driveway. When it wasn't, Ridge said he left. Brooke said she believed him.
Rick stomped down the stairs and bellowed at Brooke and asked why Ridge was in her house after what he had done. Ridge and Rick both demanded that Brooke throw the other one out, and she asked them to both calm down. But alas, they did not calm down. Rick asked Ridge if he intended to finish the job and if so, what he planned to use to kill him. Ridge asked Brooke if they had any arsenic, and her jaw dropped in disbelief.
Rick pressed Ridge for a confession. He asked Ridge to admit to Rick's face that Ridge tried to kill Rick. Ridge just glared at Rick and said nothing. Rick said Ridge wasn't man enough to admit it. Just as the two were about to erupt into yet another fight, Brooke intervened and said she would not let them hurt one another and that their fighting had to end.
Ridge said he wished he had set Rick's house on fire, but that someone else had beaten him to the punch. Rick asked Brooke if she realized that her husband, Ridge, was a psychopath who just admitted he wanted to torch Rick's house. Ridge said if he had done it, he would not have been stupid enough to admit that he rode to Rick's on his motorcycle. Ridge gave Brooke a direct order to get Rick out of the house by the time he got home from work. She reluctantly agreed.
After Ridge left for work, Rick said he still believed Ridge was responsible for the fire and was out to get him. Brooke said Ridge would never do such a thing. Rick shrugged and said he hoped Brooke believed him before it was too late.
Brooke said perhaps a drifter stopped by the beach house with lighter fluid and torched Rick's house. Rick didn't buy the drifter theory and countered with his own. He explained that something significant had occurred between him and Steffy the night before. He said although Steffy left before the onset of the fire, the arsonist could had been there earlier and known what happened.
Brooke and Rick heard pounding at the door and Steffy shouted Rick's name. He ran to the door and flung it open and she nearly knocked Rick down when she leapt into his arms. She kissed him repeatedly and thanked God he was okay. Brooke witnessed their happy reunion and said, "Oh God, you two made love."
Rick said he realized Brooke was upset, and she said that word didn't begin to cover it. She pointed out that Rick went ahead and got more deeply involved with Steffy even though he knew how much it would hurt Ridge, and thus her marriage. Rick said he and Steffy had waited a long time to be together to give Ridge time to get used to the idea, but since he hadn't, they went for it. Brooke said they should end their relationship immediately. To make her point, she noted that someone already tried to kill Rick by setting his house ablaze. She asked how much more danger he needed to be in before he took it seriously.
Stephanie arrived at the Forrester office to find Thorne passed out on the sofa with an empty bottle of tequila in his hand and wearing a rumpled suit. She said it appeared that Thorne had really "tied one on" the night before. Just then Donna walked in and was on the phone with Eric in Paris. She hung up, obviously in shock, and shared the news with Stephanie and Thorne that someone had set Rick's house on fire. In unison, Thorne and Stephanie said almost expectantly, "Did he die?"
Donna said he had not and thanked God, but she was the only one rejoicing. Owen and Marcus entered the office, too, and caught the tail end of the conversation. When the two of them learned that Rick survived the fire, they seemed mildly disappointed.
Owen noticed Thorne's sorry condition and asked if he was okay. Thorne said no, he was not okay, and it was no secret why. Owen agreed and said Rick was on Thorne's hit list, too. Stephanie said Rick had made a lot of enemies and with good reason. Marcus chimed in and said, "Damn straight."
Owen said Rick was about to ruin Owen's life, too. Donna asked what he was talking about. Owen explained that he would be fired when Rick got back to work, because the Surf line tanked and Rick needed a scapegoat. Marcus said if the person who tried to kill Rick would just try again and finish the job, they wouldn't have to worry about him anymore. Donna was sickened to hear her son speak that way.
Marcus and Donna spoke in private and he reminded her that Rick sent Marcus on a phony trip to Paris to clear the path to Steffy. Donna said she remembered, but that Steffy saw through Rick back then. Marcus said that she was falling for Rick this time around and he still believed wholeheartedly that Rick was using Steffy. Donna realized her son still deeply loved Steffy. Marcus continued on and said when Rick finally dumped Steffy she would have the heartbreak of her life.
Marcus said some more disparaging things about Rick, and Donna told him to be quiet and stop talking about how much he hated Rick. Marcus asked if, since someone burned Rick's house down, Marcus had to pretend he liked Rick. Donna reminded him that one never knew who was listening in on the conversations in the Forrester offices. She pointed out that Marcus would be a natural suspect because Rick stole his girlfriend. Marcus said a lot of people hated Rick, but Donna cautioned him again to watch what he said about Rick in public. She also mentioned that if the police questioned him, he should not volunteer any information. She asked him to be careful.
Lieutenant Baker and his son, Charlie, arrived at the crime scene. Lt. Baker chuckled and said someone had a weenie roast and forgot to invite him. Lt. Baker said the Forrester family never ceased to fascinate him. They were one of the wealthiest and most successful families in Los Angeles, yet always had some sort of criminal activity going on around them. Charlie said he finally understood why his dad assigned himself to all of their cases. Steffy arrived on the scene and, in panicked tones, asked Lt. Baker what had happened there and if Rick was all right.
The detectives assured Steffy that Rick was fine. Charlie asked Steffy if she and Rick were close. Instead of saying, "His Mom is married to my Dad," she said, "We work together at Forrester," as though they were only mildly acquainted. She asked how the house had caught on fire and if it had been an accident. Lt. Baker explained his theory about arson and asked Steffy if she knew anyone at all that would want to hurt Rick. Her eyes darted from side to side to avoid making eye contact with Lt. Baker after his loaded question.

Thursday, March 5
Marcus watched Rick pull into the parking lot and called Ridge to tell him the Rick had arrived.
Ridge told everyone that Rick was coming in, and the insults started. Thorne said he wanted to run the company without Rick, just as Rick arrived. Katie and Donna asked how Rick was doing, because they were concerned for his safety.
Rick thanked his family for their support, although it was only Donna, Katie, and Brooke who supported him. Brooke was concerned that Lieutenant Baker and his son were investigating the fire as arson. She worried that the arsonist might work at Forrester. Ridge scoffed and said everyone needed to get to work to meet the new deadline.
Ridge left and Rick took the opportunity to fire Pam and Owen, since the surf line didn't do well. Owen suggested a fire sale.
Stephanie talked to Lieutenant and Detective Baker and told them that she believed Rick set the fire himself. The Bakers said that was a serious charge, but Stephanie continued that she was confident the investigation would prove it.
Pam and Owen commiserated over being fired. Marcus told Owen that Rick should be leaving, not Pam and Owen.
Brooke asked Donna about Marcus, and Donna warned her not to dare to accuse her son of hating Rick so much, that he would set fire to the beach house. Donna told Katie and Brooke that Rick had no right to fire Owen. Brook said Rick had made some mistakes, but she was worried about his safety. Brooke reminded Donna that Marcus was revengeful against Rick because he sent Marcus to Paris and then stole Steffy away from him while Marcus was gone. Brooke said she didn't want to accuse anyone, but she was worried that someone wanted to kill Rick. Donna insisted that it wasn't Marcus. She added that Rick should have gone back to Paris where he would have ben safe. In Los Angeles, he had a lot of enemies.
Marcus barged into Rick's office and threatened him. He said that he hoped Steffy would see what a punk Rick had become. Rick defended himself and his decisions, but Marcus warned that things could blow up in his face.
Stephanie found out that Rick had fired Pam, but she said that wasn't going to happen. She encouraged Pam to crochet a line of purses for Forrester. Donna insisted Pam had to go because of all she had done to the family. Pam defended herself using the excuse that she had a brain tumor, but Donna didn't buy it. Stephanie said her sister wasn't going anywhere.
Lt. and Det. Baker popped in on Marcus to ask questions. Marcus instantly became defensive. The cops suggested he shouldn't have anything to hide. Marcus came clean that he hated Rick because Rick stole Steffy from him, but Marcus would never harm Rick. Donna showed up, and told the Bakers they wouldn't find anything to connect her son to the arson.
Owen stopped by to threaten Rick before he left Forrester. Rick told him to go spend some time with his surfer buddies. Owen warned that since he no longer had a job, he had more time for a barbecue on the beach. Rick added some snide comments, but Owen got the last word. He told Rick that Rick's reign at Forrester might explode.
At Taylor's house, Taylor and Steffy talked about the fire at Rick's house, and Taylor discovered that Steffy had slept with Rick. Taylor shouted at Steffy that she had made a huge mistake. She added that Ridge would go crazy if he found out. Steffy said he would have to get over it. Steffy blabbed that she and Rick were in love. She also said that Rick believed Ridge might have known about their lovemaking, and started the fire as revenge after Steffy left. Taylor told Steffy they had to tell Ridge before someone else told him about Steffy and Rick.
At Forrester, Stephanie warned Ridge that Brooke seemed more concerned about Rick than Ridge. Brooke barged in and said she wanted to talk to Ridge alone. Ridge shared his suspicions that Rick set the fire himself. Brooke was adamant that Rick was innocent, and she wanted Ridge to forgive Rick. Ridge told Brooke that he didn't want Rick at Forrester, but he had to see him everyday thanks to Brooke backing down about sending him away. Brooke refused to abandon Rick.
Ridge said Rick was messed up, and didn't want Rick anywhere near Steffy. He freaked out and told Brooke that if Rick laid a hand on Steffy, he didn't know what he would do. He was very emotional and angry. Brooke fought back and said that if Rick and Steffy wanted to be together, no one could stop them. She said it was just like when his mother tried to come between them. Ridge was insulted. Brooke said that she believed Rick and Steffy truly cared about each other. Ridge warned that if Rick ever violated Steffy, he wouldn't stand for it. Brooke looked guilty, since she knew Rick and Steffy had already been intimate.
Ridge's phone rang and Taylor said she needed to talk to Ridge about Rick and Steffy. Ridge wanted to know what Rick had done.

Friday, March 6
Taylor asked Ridge to promise he wouldn't do anything if she told him about Steffy. He did not promise, but said he wanted to know what happened, anyway. Taylor hesitated to respond. She made some vague comments about needing to get Steffy away from Rick. Ridge asked again for Taylor to tell him exactly what Rick had done. She danced around it and merely said things between their daughter and Rick had gotten serious.
Ridge admitted he had ridden his motorcycle to Rick's to see if Steffy's car was there and it was not. Taylor said that was because she had already left, but informed Rick that Steffy was at Rick's prior to the fire. It dawned on Ridge that Steffy and Rick had sex and he started pounding his fists on the desk and said he was done playing games with Rick.
Owen boxed up his things to leave and stopped by Thorne's office on his way out. Thorne tried to console Owen and said Rick had treated Owen unfairly. Thorne offered Owen his support for the future and said he would write Owen a letter of recommendation if he ever needed one. Owen was touched by Thorne's offer. Thorne offered that an enemy of an enemy was his friend.
Steffy walked by and overheard Thorne and Owen, and pointed out that it was in bad taste for them to bond over their hatred for Rick. She reminded them that someone torched his house and nearly killed him. Owen said that was no reason for Rick to fire him. Steffy said Rick fired Owen because his surf line had bombed. Owen disagreed and thought it was personal.
Steffy said nothing could be more personal than someone trying to burn Rick's house down. She appealed to their best nature and asked them to look at things through Rick's eyes and imagine how it felt to be in a building where everyone was out to get him and he could never feel safe. Thorne said if Rick wanted to feel safe, he was in the wrong building. Steffy left in a huff.
Pam was rooting around in Rick's office. Rick stopped in and reminded her that she no longer worked there because he had fired her. Pam said Stephanie had rehired her to crochet handbags. Rick tossed her his car keys and assigned Pam some menial errands to annoy her. When she balked, he reminded her that she just said she still worked there.
Lt. Baker and Charlie stopped by the mailroom to question Marcus. Donna objected and said they were not allowed to barge into Forrester and question her son. Lt. Baker said they could take him downtown if she preferred. Donna insisted Marcus hadn't done anything wrong. Charlie asked why he had a box of matches if he didn't start the fire. Marcus said he kept them around in case any of his co-workers had birthdays so he could light their candles. Lt. Baker asked if anyone had a birthday in the past few days. Marcus said maybe someone left them on his desk when they went outside for a smoke. Lt Baker said they were going to take the matches and test them against the ones they found at the beach.
Rick and Brooke argued, and she said that Ridge could never find out the Rick and Steffy had made love. Rick said he didn't care if Ridge found out; he and Steffy were adults and had every right to be together. Brooke asked why he had to push things with Ridge. Rick said it was obviously a foreign concept to Brooke, but many adults did things without Ridge's permission.
Brooke went to Ridge's office to find him, but he was gone. She found Taylor there instead. Taylor asked Brooke if she knew that her son, Rick, had seduced Steffy. Brooke asked Taylor if she had spoken to Ridge about it. Taylor nodded yes. Brooke was terrified and asked Taylor why she would do such a thing. Brooke said she was going to get Rick out of the building and asked Taylor to stay and wait for Ridge. Taylor grabbed Brooke by the arm and said Brooke needed to make her "sick son" get out Steffy's life. Brooke said she tried to keep Rick away from Steffy, but the two of them were in love and didn't want to stay away from one another. Taylor said Rick didn't know what love was. Brooke said his feelings for Steffy were genuine. Taylor asked Brooke is she had planned to tell Ridge that Steffy and Rick made love. Brooke said no, because she knew he would go off to confront Rick and someone would get hurt. She wanted to avoid that. Brooke left to find Ridge and Rick to try to stop whatever fight was brewing
Rick called Ridge and asked to meet him at the Sky Lounge immediately. They both arrived and stared one another down. A couple of Forrester employees came in. Ridge asked them to leave and give him some privacy. Rick said he didn't come to fight; he wanted to talk and reason things out together with Ridge. Rick said his feelings for Steffy were sincere, and that Steffy loved him, too. Rick pointed out that everyone had told Ridge that, but he wouldn't listen. Rick hoped Ridge would listen to him this time because he wanted to ask Ridge for Steffy's hand in marriage as a show of good faith that he was serious about her.
Ridge said Rick would never touch Steffy again and he didn't buy the marriage proposal. Ridge said Rick was only there to cover his tracks because Rick slept with Steffy and knew Ridge would find out. Ridge promised that Rick would never touch Steffy again.
Rick said Ridge could not control everything. Rick reminded Ridge that Steffy was a grown woman with a mind of her own, capable of making her own choices. Rick said Ridge had to accept Steffy's choices if he wanted to keep her in his life. Rick reminded Ridge that Ridge had not listened when Stephanie demanded Ridge stop seeing Brooke, just as Steffy would not listen to Ridge when he demanded she stop seeing Rick-like father like daughter.
Rick said he was weary of fighting and was going back to work. Ridge said no he wasn't and demanded that Rick leave the premises. Rick said he would go, but he would be back the next day, and the next day and the next day, so Ridge had better get used to him. Ridge insisted Rick go straight down to his car and leave. Brooke arrived just as Rick left. She asked Ridge where her son was. The two of them watched Rick heading to his car from their rooftop vantage point.
Rick went to his car and ran into Steffy in the parking lot. She asked how things went with her dad, and Rick said he thought Ridge hated him more than ever. He explained to Steffy that he had to leave and she watched him walk to his car. As Rick approached his car, it exploded and fire filled the night sky. Brooke screamed Rick's name as she watched her son's car get lost in the flames

Monday, March 9th
Rick narrowly escaped the blast when his car exploded. As Brooke watched from the Sky Lounge, she noticed the angry glares exchanged between Ridge and Rick. Steffy brought Rick back inside and wanted to call an ambulance, but Rick said he was fine. Brooke arrived and the two ladies were falling all over themselves to take care of Rick. Ridge watched in disgust.
Rick told Ridge he missed, and Ridge said if he wanted Rick dead, Rick would be dead. Rick reminded Ridge that Ridge specifically demanded that Rick go to his car and leave the premises right away. Rick said it was obvious Ridge tried to kill him again. Steffy gasped when she heard Rick's accusation against her father. Rick believed that when Ridge found out that Rick and Steffy had made love, Ridge would rather see Rick dead than with his daughter. Brooke and Steffy both said Ridge would never do that. Ridge said Rick probably blew up his own car. Brooke and Steffy said Rick would never do that.
Marcus heard the blast from the mailroom and Lieutenant Baker ran to see what the ruckus was and asked Marcus to stay put. When Lt. Baker heard it was Rick's car that blew up, he noted that Rick was having a very bad week.
Lt. Baker and Charlie went to the office where Ridge, Brooke, Steffy, and Rick were arguing. Rick accused Ridge, and Ridge accused Rick. The officers said they would get to the bottom of it. Brooke said that someone was trying to kill her son and she wanted the perpetrator found and put in jail.
Owen and Bridget ended up at the same bar and Bridget pulled up a stool next to him. Bridget mentioned the Owen looked like he'd had a bad day, and he said Rick had fired him from Forrester and it was his last day. Bridget said she was sorry and understood why he felt so blue. She said she knew how fashion could get under someone's skin and how satisfying it was to create something no one else had ever seen. He pointed out that was an odd point of view from a doctor. She said she guessed it was in her genes.
Owen said he had done well at Forrester until Rick got in the way. Bridget said Rick had some issues, but was good at heart. She mentioned that she might be able to help Owen get hired by another fashion house. Aunt Pam called and informed Bridget about Rick's car exploding. Bridget excused herself from drinks with Owen and left to check on Rick
Pam, Thorne, Donna, and Marcus discussed the explosion. Pam noted the police showed up quickly, and Donna said they were already in the building at the time. Marcus said at least he would have an airtight alibi for the car exploding, because he was with the detectives when it happened. Aunt Pam said maybe not-the bomb could have been on a timer. Donna pointed out that no one said it was a bomb, and suspicious eyes turned in Pam's direction. Donna said after everything Pam had done to her, Pam had better not make accusations against Marcus.
Marcus said he bet Lt. Baker felt foolish that he had tried to pin the fire on Marcus. Lt. Baker said there was no way to know if the two crimes were related, so Marcus wasn't off the hook just yet. Donna pointed out that there was a known psycho in the house, namely Aunt Pam, and Donna thought Pam should be the first person questioned.
After everyone else had gone, Steffy and Rick made a list of Rick's enemies and realized Ridge wasn't the only one who wanted him dead. Steffy said she was afraid, and Rick said the only thing he feared was not being able to build a life with Steffy. The two kissed. Rick informed Steffy that he had asked Ridge for permission to marry her.
Rick said they would have to put their plans on hold. Someone was trying to kill him and he didn't want Steffy anywhere near him, because he could not keep her safe. Steffy said she needed Rick. When they had made love, Steffy felt a connection like she had never felt with another man. Rick was touched, but was worried about her safety. Rick asked if she has seen his PDA, because he wanted to call the insurance company.
Ridge said Brooke had nothing to worry about because Rick barely had a scratch on him. Brooke asked Ridge what he and Rick had been talking about before the blast. Ridge said Steffy, but barely squeezed her name out of his clenched jaw. Ridge said Rick had announced he wanted to marry Steffy. Brooke said that proved Rick really loved Steffy. Ridge said it only proved Rick was scared, because he knew Ridge found out that Rick and Steffy made love. Brooke said Rick talked to her about it earlier in the day and she told Rick it was unacceptable. Ridge was furious that Brooke knew and hadn't come to him about it.
Brooke explained that she had only found out herself. She didn't go to Ridge right away, she explained, because she didn't want to upset Ridge. Brooke thought she might have been able to stop Rick and Steffy from doing it again. Brooke said all she could focus on was that someone was trying to murder her son. Ridge looked doubtful, but Brooke implored Ridge to believe Rick had not blown up his own car. Ridge said if Brooke believed it, that was good enough for him. Ridge said he would be there for her. He said he lost a child and it was the worst pain a parent could endure, so he understood Brooke's fear. He said he didn't want Brooke to lose a child, so he would help her find out who was trying to kill Rick. She fell into his arms sobbing.
Rick called Lt. Baker to inform him about a death threat note he found in his office drawer that read, "The end is near."
A montage of guilty-looking possible suspects danced across the screen including Owen, Thorne, Pam, Marcus, Donna, and Ridge

Tuesday, March 10th
At Forrester Creations, Brooke told Carlos that, because of the attempts on Rick's life, the security at the company was heightened. She made sure that Carlos checked all of the IDs at the company's parking lot entrance and building entrance, and that he escorted delivery people from the lobby through the building.
Donna, who was present in the office with Brooke, was surprised that Pam had been allowed back into the building after Rick had fired her. Pam informed Donna that Stephanie had re-hired her. Pam sarcastically asked Donna if Marcus had been arrested for his attempt to kill Rick. She commented that the bomb that blew up Rick's car had a timer, so that Marcus could have planted the bomb even though he was speaking with Lieutenant Baker at the time the bomb exploded.
Pam and Dona's discussion escalated into another argument. Stephanie arrived and told Donna to end the argument. Donna complained to Stephanie that she didn't trust Pam even though Pam had recuperated from her mental illness. Pam boldly inserted her comments into Donna and Stephanie's conversation. She bragged that she didn't kill Phoebe or manipulate Eric for the president's position, and she didn't sell out the company to its competition. She then reminded them that Rick had done all of those things.
Donna sarcastically asked Pam who she thought would have attempted to kill Rick. She asked if it was possibly the woman who tried to kill her mother, Marcus, and Eric. Pam's response to Donna's sarcastic remark was an explanation that she had a mental illness when she committed those acts.
In his office, Rick viewed security video. As he did that, Brooke noticed he viewed the footage in front of Ridge's office. Brooke became angry and tried to make Rick understand that it had not been Ridge who had attempted to kill him. Brooke became adamant with Rick that his killer was still out there and could make another attempt on his life.
Meanwhile, Taylor and Ridge met with Steffy, who voiced her concerns about Ridge's belief that Rick staged the attempts on his own life. Steffy told her parents that she wouldn't allow them to control her life and she hoped they respected her as an adult, even if they didn't agree with her decisions. Steffy reminded her parents that she loved Rick and was committed to him. She reiterated that she wouldn't walk away from Rick.
Ridge explained to his daughter that he was trying to protect her because if she had been in Rick's car when it exploded, she would have died. Ridge asked her what she would tell her own daughter about someone like Rick. Steffy told her dad that she would allow her daughter to make her own mistakes and accept her daughter's decisions. Ridge then told his daughter that they were there for her always and that, if her decisions did not work out, Steffy should trust in her parents to confide in them.
Ridge expressed his hope that Rick would not hurt her, but was worried that he would. Ridge told Steffy that he wanted her to be happy, even if he didn't agree with her and Rick. Later Steffy announced to Brooke and Rick that Ridge wouldn't stand in the way of their relationship any longer. Brooke questioned Ridge if he intended to leave Rick and Steffy alone.
At the police station, Lt. Baker and his son received evidence from the lab that made them suspicious of Owen. However, after intensive questioning of Owen, they believed that he was not a suspect. Lt. Baker asked Owen who else had been involved with the Surf line of clothing at Forrester Creations. Owen informed him that Donna and Pam had also worked on the Surf Line. Later, Lt. Baker received evidence that the fiber on Rick's desk was the same on the glue and a special kind of yarn used in crocheting.
Lt. Baker and his son paid Pam a visit at Forrester Creations. They both observed the yarn that Pam was using, and realized it was the same yarn as in the lab report. Stephanie, who was present, was horrified when she realized that Lt. Baker believed that Pam was a suspect in the two attempts on Rick's life.

Lieutenant Baker and Charlie stopped by to visit Pam. Stephanie was outraged that they considered Pam a suspect in Rick's car explosion. Pam said she had nothing to hide. Lt. Baker noticed Pam crocheting and asked her what she was making. She said she was making purses and asked if his wife might like one. Lt. Baker buttered her up and said she just might like one.
He asked if she was the only person who crocheted those bags and Pam said she was. He delved a little further and asked if she always used the same yarn. Pam said Forrester only used that particular blend with cashmere, the finest yarn around. Stephanie smelled a rat and asked Lt. Baker what all the yarn questions had to do with his investigation. He cryptically remarked that time would tell. Charlie whispered to his father that he would bet money the yarn fibers they found at the crime scenes were the same as Pam's purse yarn.
As the detective searched Pam's office, she gave them various reasons why she could not be the suspect. She said she hated loud noises, so she would never set a bomb, and she was meticulous, so if she had pasted together a threat note, the letters would have been straight. The detectives noticed Pam had a surf magazine, every issue but one month was missing. They also found a towel that smelled like lighter fluid and remnants of some explosive materials. Pam said she had never seen those items before. Stephanie suggested that they question Owen, since it was his office before he was fired. The detectives said they had questioned Owen, but the evidence pointed towards Pam.
Donna, Marcus, and Katie saw the police heading to Pam's office. Donna said it would make sense for Pam to try to kill Rick. Not only did Rick fire Pam, but Stephanie blamed Rick for Phoebe's death. Donna said Pam knew it and had appointed herself as Stephanie's personal attack dog. Donna said it would make sense if Pam were the failed killer.
Lt. Baker and Charlie informed Pam she was under arrested and handcuffed her. Pam shrieked "No! No! No" at the top of her lungs, but the police didn't stop. Stephanie tried to calm Pam down, to no avail. Pam said they had the wrong person and insisted she was not guilty. As they lead Pam out of the building, the ruckus she made drew the attention of the rest of the family.
Rick, Brooke, Ridge, Steffy, Donna, Marcus, and Katie watched as Pam was dragged down the hallway. When Rick heard Pam was being arrested for making two attempts on his life, he was shocked. Pam looked him in the eye and swore she had nothing to do with it. Rick paused for a moment as if he considered believing her.
After she was out of the building, the family expressed shock to find out she was behind the crimes. Donna said after everything Pam had done in the past, she had no trouble believing Pam was behind it. Ridge said Pam deserved her day in court. Rick laughed and said it was typical of Ridge; he defended the woman who tried to kill Rick. Ridge said he had no sympathy for Pam after what she had done to Eric, but he felt she deserved a trial before she was condemned.
At the police station, Lt. Baker asked Charlie to put a rush on the lab tests so he could book Pam. In about four seconds, Charlie came back and announced that all four lab tests were a match - yarn fibers, lighter fluid, plastic explosive residue, and oil from Rick's car. Lt. Baker booked Pam while she sobbed. Stephanie promised Pam she would get her out of it and that nothing bad would happen.
Steffy joyfully disclosed to Brooke that Ridge would no longer stand in the way of Steffy's relationship with Rick. Brooke asked Ridge if it was true; she wanted to know if he had actually given Rick and Steffy his blessing. Ridge said once Steffy made it clear she intended to be with Rick, he decided he would rather let them be together than alienate his daughter. Steffy beamed about her victory.
Brooke was also smiling and said just when she thought she couldn't love Ridge any more than she already did, he gave her another reason to love him. Steffy asked Rick if he was happy, too. Rick expressed doubt about Ridge's change of heart. Rick said he found it odd that Ridge suddenly decided to help Brooke find out who was trying to kill him, and suddenly decided to accept Rick's relationship with Steffy. He just didn't buy that Ridge could come around so quickly.
After Pam's arrest, Ridge and Rick halfheartedly apologized to one another for accusing the each other of trying to set Rick's house ablaze. Rick mentioned that Marcus didn't seem very happy that Rick hadn't died. Rick said it was clear Marcus still hated him.
Down the hall in Donna's office, Marcus admitted just that. He told his mother that he hated Rick and if Pam hadn't tried to kill him, Marcus would have. Donna said Marcus should not talk that way. Marcus said he couldn't help it; he hated Rick and always would.
Steffy and Rick went to dinner. Brooke pointed out how happy they looked when they left. Ridge said he noticed, but wondered how long that happiness would last.
Stephanie went to see Pam in jail. She asked her very tenderly, sister to sister, if Pam had taken her medication. Pam assured Stephanie she had taken it and had been very careful not to miss any doses. Stephanie asked Pam to be honest and tell her if she had done anything to try to hurt Rick. In desperate whimpers, Pam said she hadn't. She pled with Stephanie to believe her. Pam said she had done bad things in the past due to scar tissue on her brain, and since her surgery she had not done anything bad. Pam begged Stephanie to believe in her innocence and the two sisters hugged tightly.

Wearing prison garb, and her normally perfect hair a total mess, Pam begged Stephanie to believe she was innocent. She told Stephanie she had no reason to want to kill Rick. She realized that she had done some terrible things to people before her brain surgery, but she promised Stephanie she did not try to hurt Rick.
Stephanie didn't look convinced, but relented and then wondered aloud who did try to kill Rick. The two sisters eventually figured it could be Marcus, because he was so hurt that Steffy dumped him for Rick. They also figured Donna helped Marcus and the pair framed Pam. Stephanie promised to get Pam out of jail.
Brooke and Ridge got romantic at home. Brooke said she was glad to see Ridge finally smile again. She thanked him for supporting Steffy and Rick's relationship. Ridge told her she always made him smile, because she was so soft and so sweet.
Marcus interrupted Rick and Steffy's make-out session in Rick's office. Rick told Marcus he appreciated that Marcus had been cool about losing Steffy. Marcus seethed as he called Rick an ass. Marcus added that he knew he could never have Steffy because she never looked at him the same way she looked at Rick. Marcus said he hoped Steffy realized what a jerk Rick was before Rick hurt Steffy. And, Marcus said he was sure that Rick would hurt Steffy. It was just a matter of time.
In Eric's office, Donna left Eric a note and honey bear jar. The note asked him to meet her in the steam room. Stephanie returned to Forrester and saw Donna's note. She made a beeline for the steam room and made Donna think Eric had come in. Stephanie poured a bucket of cold water on her and told her to get upstairs for a meeting.
Donna and Stephanie met in Eric's office, and Stephanie accused Donna and Marcus of trying to kill Rick and frame Pam. Donna said Stephanie was nuts. Stephanie said Pam was innocent. Donna disagreed, and left. Outside the office, Jake was chatting on the phone and telling Rick to have a good time with Steffy at the beach as Stephanie was eavesdropping.
Rocco Carner returned to Forrester from Forrester International in Paris where he had worked with Rick. Rocco visited with Thorne and Felicia. Thorne said Rocco had just arrived, but Rocco said he had arrived a few days earlier. Felicia wondered if Rocco had worked closely with Rick in Paris, but Rocco said he didn't want to talk about or to Rick at all. Felicia wondered if Rocco disliked Rick. Thorne chimed in that Rocco had wanted to return to Los Angeles, but Rick refused to allow it. Thorne told Felicia he brought Rocco back and they were working on a dynamite project together.
Rick saw Rocco in the hall and introduced him to Steffy. Rick wondered what Rocco was doing in Los Angeles and Rocco said he finally got the transfer he wanted. Rick said he never approved a transfer, but Rocco said Thorne approved his transfer. Rocco added that he and Thorne were working on a top-secret project that would be the bomb. After Rocco left, Rick told Steffy he should have fired "that loser" years ago.
Rick and Steffy showed up at the beach house where Rick had a candlelit dinner all set and he offered Steffy wine, but warned that she would have to spend the night if she drank. They started making out on the couch as Stephanie unlocked the door, barged in, and insisted that Steffy had to leave with her.
Rick was furious. Stephanie tried to reason with the lovebirds that someone was trying to kill Rick, and Steffy could end up getting killed in the crossfire. Rick said Pam was safely put away in jail so he was safe. Stephanie argued that Pam wasn't guilty so the real killer was still out there.
Stephanie would not give up. She started pulling at Steffy and physically trying to force her to leave. Steffy shouted at her grandmother to stop. Rick told Stephanie to get out. He added that she was just as crazy as her sister. Stephanie slapped Rick twice and angrily tried to force Steffy to leave with her again, but Steffy refused.
Stephanie told Rick that if he really loved Steffy he would want to keep her away from him so she would be safe. Rick and Steffy claimed that Steffy was safe with Rick. Stephanie warned that if anything happened to Steffy, she would kill Rick herself. Stephanie left and Steffy cried.

Stephanie filled Taylor and Thomas in on Pam's arrest. Stephanie was firm in her conviction that Pam was truly innocent of the crimes she was accused of committing. Stephanie said she was especially concerned that the real culprit was still on the loose and would try to kill Rick again. Stephanie urged Taylor and Thomas to get Steffy away from Rick's house because he was still in danger.
Brooke and Ridge shared a romantic moment and Brooke said she couldn't remember when she had felt so free. The two lovebirds cuddled in bed, smiling and content. But then the phone rang and it was Taylor, who was in the idle of a meltdown. Taylor insisted Ridge come to see her immediately because Steffy was in danger. Ridge dutifully got up, got dressed, and headed off to see Taylor, much to Brooke's chagrin.
Katie stopped by to visit Brooke and they discussed Pam's arrest. Katie asked where Ridge was, and Brooke explained that he had gone to see Taylor. Katie asked if Taylor was telling the truth about Steffy being in trouble. Brooke said no, Taylor just wanted attention, as usual.
Katie asked if Ridge knew what Taylor was up to. Brooke said no, Ridge was still vulnerable when it came to Steffy, so Taylor played that card every chance she got. Brooke suggested Taylor probably felt guilty for her involvement with Rick and how much that relationship hurt Phoebe, and was overcompensating with Steffy.
Ridge walked into Taylor's office and found Thomas, Stephanie, and Taylor all waiting for him. They told him their theory about Pam being innocent and the real killer still being on the loose. Stephanie said she thought Taylor and Ridge should go to the beach house together and force Steffy to leave. Ridge asked if his mother wanted him to drag Steffy out by her hair. Stephanie said yes, if that was what it took to protect Steffy from danger.
Ridge said maybe they were all just overreacting. Stephanie said that was Brooke talking. Ridge said Steffy wanted to be with Rick, and if Ridge continued to push her, he would alienate her. Taylor said Rick had made a lot of enemies, and one of them was intent on killing him. With that in mind, she did not want her last remaining daughter near Rick as long as his life was being threatened. Taylor begged Ridge to go to the beach house to get Steffy away from Rick.
Rick and Steffy kissed and had a conversation, which was filled with double entendres, about how she wanted her steak. Steffy said she did not want to leave the beach house, and Rick said since Ridge agreed to accept their relationship, Steffy could stay as long as she wanted.
Stephanie barged into Brooke's bedroom and walked in on Brooke dressed in lingerie. Stephanie commented that all the Logan girls must sit around in their underwear all day waiting for a man to appear. Brooke was not amused and asked Stephanie why she was there. Stephanie pitched her notion that Pam was falsely accused and the real killer was still on the loose. Brooke didn't believe it for a minute and said the police had enough evidence to lock Pam up for life. Stephanie said Pam would be released as soon as Rick's would-be killer made another attempt on his life. Brooke said she was certain the true culprit was already behind bars - Pam.
Ridge, Taylor, and Thomas burst through the door at Rick's house and insisted that Steffy go home with them. She refused and told them to get out. Ridge said he had to protect her. Steffy said she already heard her grandmother's theory that Pam was framed and Steffy didn't believe it. Steffy asked them to leave and refused to go with them. Rick asked Ridge if that was his way of "not getting involved," and Ridge said he would do anything to protect Steffy.
Rick screamed at Ridge and insisted they all get out of his house. As Rick walked toward Ridge, Thomas punched Rick in the face and knocked him down. Thomas and Ridge dragged Steffy, kicking and screaming, out of Rick's house. Rick pulled himself up and watched in absolute disbelief as they left.
Brooke reminisced about the beach wedding between her and Ridge, and about the vows he made to her. Rick rushed in and interrupted her daydream to explain that Ridge, Taylor, and "their freaky son Thomas" had broken into his house and abducted Steffy. Rick said Ridge's whole family was insane, and vowed that he would find out where they had taken Steffy.
Ridge, Taylor, and Thomas took Steffy to the family cabin in Big Bear. They were trying to soother Steffy's anger with a roaring fire and hot cocoa, but she was not in the mood. Steffy said they could not hold her captive forever. Taylor said it would only be until they caught the person who was trying to kill Rick. Steffy said she needed some air and went outside; Ridge joined her.
Taylor and Thomas stayed inside and talked. Thomas said he was getting tired and headed off to bed. Taylor picked up a sweater Thomas forgot to put away, and noticed it had a "Made with Love by Pam" label in it. When Taylor folded the sweater, clumps of yarn fiber came off in her hand, just like the ones left at the crime scene, the ones that got Pam arrested.

At the cabin, Taylor holds Thomas’ sweater while recalling Stephanie talking about the fibers in Pam’s crocheting being used as evidence against Rick’s attacker. Thomas comes in and Taylor says she wants to spend some time with him just the two of them while Steffy and Ridge are out for a walk. Thomas says fine and they discuss Pam getting arrested. Thomas doesn’t think she could have done anything to Rick and wonders how they can get her out of jail. Taylor says Stephanie is on it and will leave no stone unturned to find out who really attacked Rick. Taylor talks to Thomas about everything their family has been through and how tough it has been on him. She thinks her choices in men have affected him and Thomas is happy she didn’t end up with Rick. He gets a sick feeling thinking about Phoebe, as well as Rick with Steffy. Taylor understands he’s always been protective of his sisters and knows how much family means to him. Thomas thinks Taylor is implying he was the one to attack Rick. Thomas at first denies it, but then he admits he just wanted to scare Rick. He says, “Yeah, I did it. It was me.” Thomas hates Rick because he broke Phoebe’s heart and then hooked up with Taylor. He gets worked up explaining how he couldn’t stand having him around and describes how awful it was to see his mother with Rick. He doesn’t think Rick deserved her or Phoebe, but there was nothing he could do, so he kept quiet and went along with it. He was thrilled when Taylor and Rick broke up, but then Phoebe died and Rick went after Steffy. Thomas couldn’t take it anymore and wanted to take away Rick’s power over their family. Thomas apologizes because he knows it was stupid and regrets that Pam is in jail. Taylor embraces her emotional son, who admits he really screwed up.
Donna comes to see Pam in jail and brings her presents to keep her company. First, she gives her a stuffed animal that looks like Pam’s dog Tiny. Pam is touched until Donna flicks the dog’s head off and laughs. Next, she pulls out a pair of crocheted handcuffs. Donna laughs, but Pam doesn’t see the humor. Donna taunts Pam about her almost killing Rick, but Pam denies she did anything wrong. Donna says for the first time in a year, she feels safe. Pam thinks maybe Donna framed her to get revenge and accuses her of doing those things to Rick. Donna dismisses it as another of Pam’s crazy ideas, but Pam blames her and Marcus. Donna thinks the police have made their arrest and this time it will stick.
Steffy calls Rick and says she misses him and Rick says he is worried about her. Steffy says she’s okay; her family is just trying to protect her. Steffy asks Rick to be careful, but Rick jokes that he is invincible since he already survived an explosion and fire. Rick doesn’t want her to tell him where she is because he would come and get her. He wants her to spend some time with her family, just so long as they don’t brainwash her against him. Steffy assures him that won’t happen and tells him she loves him.
Ridge calls Brooke but doesn’t want to tell her where he is so Rick won’t find out. Brooke doesn’t approve of what he did, but Ridge explains he's worried about losing another daughter. He also says Rick could still be in danger and despite everything that’s happened, he doesn’t want anything to happen to him.
Marcus enters Eric’s office at the bequest of Stephanie. She questions him about whether or not he was the one to attack Rick and promises if he fesses up, she will get him the best lawyer in town.
Rick walks into Brooke’s house and they talk about Thomas hitting him and Steffy being kidnapped. Rick doesn’t think Steffy is in danger, but if she were he would be the first one to say so. Rick worries about Steffy being with her parents, but Brooke wants Rick to seriously think about his relationship with Steffy because it will cause him nothing but trouble. Rick assures Brooke he and Steffy will be together, but bemoans the fact that everyone is trying to destroy their relationship. Brooke worries that the person who is after him is still out there.
On their walk, Ridge tells Steffy she was brought to the cabin for her own good. Steffy doesn’t see it that way and wonders why Thomas hit Rick. They continue to discuss the situation and Ridge tells her he wants her to be safe and she will be, with her parents and brother.
Back at the jail, Donna leaves the visitors room and runs into Stephanie. Donna tells her there is no evidence against her or Marcus so she shouldn’t try and pin this on them because it will be a waste of time. Stephanie retorts that if Donna is put away it won’t be a waste of time at all.
Stephanie goes in to see her sister and Pam shows her the stuffed animal and says Donna and Marcus should be behind bars not her. Stephanie promises she will get her out as soon as she can.

Rick tells Brooke Ridge is pulling away from her, but he thinks there might be a silver lining in it. Brooke thinks Ridge is doing no such thing and that he is just worried for his daughter’s safety. Stephanie comes to the door and Brooke asks where Ridge is. Stephanie is elusive and Rick notes she won’t give out that information. Stephanie confirms this because she doesn’t want Rick to go to Steffy. Rick thinks Steffy is safe because Pam is behind bars. Stephanie insists Pam didn’t do it and warns Brooke that her and her children could be in danger. Brooke feels safe with the cop car outside her door, but Stephanie tells her Lt. Baker is just doing her (Stephanie) a favor and will take the car way in 24 hours. She urges Brooke to take the children somewhere else, but Rick interjects that Brooke is being manipulated. Stephanie tells Rick many people would be happy if he weren’t around, but Pam is not one of them. Rick doesn’t think Pam needs a reason to be crazy, she just is. Stephanie resents hearing that and Brooke doesn’t want to talk about it anymore so as not to upset the kids in case they overhear. Rick thinks Brooke should be concerned that Ridge and Taylor will grow closer at the cabin, but Brooke isn’t worried. Stephanie says Ridge likes his adventures, but he also likes to know he has a safe place to come home to – something he doesn’t have with Brooke because he will always be second choice.
Later, Stephanie urges Brooke to let her take the kids home with her so as to keep them safe. Brooke asks if there is any evidence proving that Pam didn’t do it. Stephanie wonders how Pam would know where to buy explosive materials. She also thinks this whole thing is ironic because Brooke always talks about her destiny with Ridge because of their children, but their children are the very things that are keeping them apart.
Up at the cabin, Ridge continues to try and get through to Steffy, but Steffy resists listening to what he has to say. Steffy reminds her father that he told her she was an adult who could make her own decisions, but Ridge insists she’s not safe. Ridge admits he’s still feeling raw after Phoebe’s death and Steffy says she will always feel like something is missing. She thinks that maybe she should be living a bigger life instead of a smaller one since Phoebe never had a chance to live hers. Ridge thinks maybe they should do the things they would do if she were still there. Ridge asks his daughter to not hate him for loving her the way he does.
Thomas swears to Taylor he didn’t want to hurt anyone, but Taylor can’t understand the things he did. Thomas says he just wanted to get Rick to back off by making him afraid of something he couldn’t see. He thinks Rick would never have been afraid of him because he just stood by while Rick slept with his mother and sister. He says he was the man of the house, but he was a joke. Thomas thinks it was up to him to do something and wanted to talk to Rick, but then he saw him and Steffy getting intimate at the beach house. He found the lighter fluid outside and set the door on fire to scare him. He also said he gave Rick plenty of room when the car exploded and then just stuffed all the evidence in a box in the office, but he didn’t know it was Pam’s. He doesn’t know what to do now that Pam is in jail. Taylor is upset because she didn’t know he was carrying all this around with him. Thomas thinks he has to confess to Lt. Baker and thinks maybe his sentence will be light since no one got hurt. He worries his mother will never look at him the same way and Taylor is sorry all this has happened.
Ridge and Steffy come back with a bucket of chicken and notice Thomas and Taylor are upset. Steffy doesn’t want them to shed tears over her and Ridge asks if they can all just be happy that they are together because it doesn’t happen that often. Thomas thinks Ridge is right and wants to enjoy it while they can. They gather around the coffee table, eat chicken and reminisce about Phoebe. Ridge notes it’s getting easier to think about her without feeling so raw. Thomas looks guilty and says sometimes and Steffy tells her family she loves them, but she wants to get back to her life. Ridge reminds her that life includes being with a man someone wants dead and until that person is in custody, she isn’t safe. Taylor wants to talk to Ridge alone and Thomas and Steffy leave to go on a walk.
Outside, Thomas wonders what happened to their family because they used to be so connected. Steffy says that was then, but time has to march on. She says, “What was breaks down and no matter how hard you try, you can’t put Humpty Dumpty back together again.”
Ridge asks Taylor what’s wrong and she thanks Ridge for planning tonight so they could have one last happy moment before the day is over. Ridge thinks there will be more happy times, but Taylor doesn’t think so. She tells Ridge they have to go back home because she knows who set the fire and blew up Rick’s car and now it’s time for Ridge to know.

Wednesday, March 18
At the cabin, Ridge asks Taylor if she knew who it was, why she didn't say anything. By way of explanation, Taylor says Thomas looks up to Ridge and wants to be like him - when Ridge said he didn't want Rick with Phoebe - he felt that way too. Taylor says the way things were, they had made it impossible for their children to be honest with them! Ridge says they did the best they could. Taylor explains that when the family fell apart - Thomas felt like he failed. Ridge doesn't get it - only one person is responsible for what happened to Phoebe that night. Taylor then lets Ridge know that that the one person responsible for what happened to Rick - is Thomas! Ridge is shocked! Taylor admits that Thomas told him that he did it. She explains that he was just trying to scare Rick - he was trying to step up as a man!
Steffy is outside of the cabin talking to Rick on the phone. He tells her that her grandmother has been like a tick on a dog, but that he's safe now that Pam is in jail. In the background, Thomas watches Steffy talk. Rick and Steffy argue about who misses who more, and then exchange 'I love yous'. After they hang up, Thomas tells his sister he knows who she was talking to - she needs to give it up with that guy. Steffy doesn't understand what he has against Rick - he needs to relax. She tells him that Ridge is back and no one needs him to fix what's broken. Thomas asks her if she wants to make a run for it.
Brooke is inside her house, arguing with Stephanie, who tells her she can marry Ridge all she wants, but he'll always turn to Taylor! Brooke says this idea she has of Ridge and Taylor together is tiresome. Stephanie says for the sake of her children she needs to listen to her!
Thomas goes into the cabin just as Taylor has finished telling Ridge the truth. Thomas tells Ridge he's ashamed for letting Aunt Pam sit in jail, but he's not sorry about trying to keep Rick away from his sister! Ridge glares. Thomas notes that Ridge has another family to look after - looking after this family is his job. Taylor says she can do that, but Thomas asks how she was doing that when she got involved with Phoebe's boyfriend! Ridge asks to speak to Thomas alone. Thomas tells him that he had to do something even if it was wrong! Rick is sick - he's responsible for Phoebe being dead! Ridge grabs Thomas in an strong embrace and tells him he understands! Thomas says everyone just stood by and watched as Rick fed off the women in their family. He admits he did it all wrong though. He asks Ridge if he's ashamed of him, but Ridge says he's saying things he's thought to himself! Thomas laments that now he'll have to take Pam's place in jail.
Rick goes back into the house and tells Stephanie he is sick of her stalking him. He surprises Stephanie by telling her he just got off the phone with Steffy. She says he's going to get his - and he won't even know it's coming! As Stephanie goes to leave, Brooke points out that nothing has happened since Pam was arrested. Stephanie says maybe nothing has happened because they have police protection! She says many people would like to get Rick!
Outside the cabin, Steffy and Taylor chat. Taylor apologizes to her for what happened with Thomas. Steffy notes that Thomas isn't sorry. Taylor tries to explain that he thinks he's protecting the women in his life. Steffy says she's not in danger back home - Taylor agrees - nobody is trying to kill Rick. Steffy asks why they're there then. Taylor says she knows who did everything - it was Thomas. Steffy expresses disbelief - he must be covering for someone! Taylor says he just wanted to scare Rick - he's been carrying a huge burden, and he wanted to protect her! Steffy runs toward the cabin!
As Thomas and Ridge continue talking about Rick in the cabin, Steffy comes in and tells Thomas that what he did isn't love! He protests, but Steffy yells that he tried to kill the man that she loves! Thomas tells her that he warned her to end it, but she didn't! He says he couldn't stand by and watch her hurt herself - it's sick - someone had to step in! Steffy says he had no right! Thomas insists that she will not see Rick anymore, yelling, "I'm not going to let that happen!"

Monday, March 23
Nick has a heart to heart with his mother, Steffy is angry at Thomas, Brooke visits Pam in jail, and Ridge and Taylor discuss how to protect their son.
Steffy yells at her brother for trying to kill Rick and calls him crazy. Thomas explains that he was only trying to protect the family from Rick, but Steffy doesn’t think she needs protection from him because she loves him. Thomas recalls the night of the press conference and how he saw her with Rick. Steffy is appalled, but Thomas explains the evening’s events. Steffy is still furious, but Ridge and Taylor remind her no one was hurt. Steffy thinks Rick needs to know, but her parents don’t think so. Steffy gets a call from Rick and answers, despite Ridge asking her not to. Steffy tells Rick she has to talk to him because she thinks he needs to know something. Ridge pulls the phone from her ear and begs her not to punish Thomas for this. Taylor asks her daughter for more time so they can figure this out and Steffy tells Rick she’ll talk to him later because she will be home soon and then nothing will keep them apart again. Steffy thinks it’s wrong to let Pam rot in prison while Thomas runs free. Thomas agrees that he should tell the police and Rick, but Ridge and Taylor think otherwise. Ridge thinks Rick will take his revenge out on him by sending Thomas to jail. Steffy thinks she can talk to Rick, but Taylor and Ridge believe that Thomas is their priority and they won’t lose him on top of everything else.
At Jackie M, Nick urges Jackie to take a break, but she thinks there’s too much work to do. Nick wants her to enjoy a moment not worrying about the company, but Jackie responds that she would enjoy having him back with Bridget and Katie out of his life. Nick thinks if Jackie had a love life of her own, she wouldn’t interfere in his. Jackie says she has enough going on in her life, but Nick thinks it’s okay to feel lonely. Nick denies this saying he just wants her to be happy. Jackie thinks there is more to life than love, i.e., family and work. Nick points out that something is missing in her life and wonders if she really wants to be worrying about him and Katie. Jackie admits she doesn’t want everyone else to be miserable just because she is. Nick thinks there is someone out there for her and Jackie thanks her son for being so concerned about her.
Brooke visits Pam in jail and asks her to admit that she was the one who attacked Rick. Pam doesn’t think Brooke believes they have the right person for crime, but Brooke urges Pam to confess for Brooke's own peace of mind. Pam says if Brooke really loves Rick she should try and get her out of jail so the police will look for the one who really tried to kill him.
Brooke goes home, where Rick is waiting for her. She tells him Pam denied everything and Rick thinks Pam and Stephanie are just trying to make them doubt Pam’s guilt. However, Brooke worries that the person who did try to kill him is still out there.
Steffy tells Thomas how scared she’s been thinking someone was after Rick. Thomas is sorry and Steffy says she knows and hugs her brother. Steffy looks at her phone and Thomas tells her he can't stop her from calling Rick and leaves saying, "Do what you have to do.”
Steffy calls Rick who says he will come get her to bring her home. Steffy assures him she’ll be home soon enough. Steffy says she’ll see him in a few hours and Rick can’t wait. Steffy hangs up as Thomas lurks in the doorway.
Rick tells Brooke he and Steffy are safe, but Brooke still worries. Rick thinks Ridge only kidnapped Steffy to brainwash her against him. Brooke reminds him there is a squad car outside of their house, which proves Ridge has real concern, which she is starting to share.
Ridge and Taylor privately discuss how they have to keep their son safe so they don’t lose him. Taylor wonders what happened to their family and Ridge admits he didn’t see this coming. Taylor didn’t either and they both agree protecting Thomas is the most important thing right now. Taylor worries that Thomas has so much anger locked up inside of him, but Ridge thinks they can’t look back, they have to look forward. He doesn’t think Rick can know and believes Steffy will keep the secret. Taylor doesn’t want to do anything to get them in deeper, but Ridge tells her they have to be strong for their children. Taylor tells Ridge he is the only one who is able to comfort her since Phoebe died and Ridge promises he is there or her and that they will get through this together. Taylor wonders if they can save Thomas and Ridge says they have to no matter what it takes.
Alone, Jackie ponders Nick telling her someone is out there for her who will appreciate her for who she is.

Tuesday, March 24
Ridge, Steffy, Taylor and Ridge leave the cabin, Stephanie and Brooke spar, Rick and Steffy are reunited, and Ridge fills Stephanie in on Thomas.
Taylor is surprised to wake up next to Ridge, but Ridge tells her it’s not what it looks like – he just wanted to make sure she was okay. Taylor wishes this whole thing were just a nightmare and wonders how they will protect Thomas.
Rick works out at home and then thinks about the night he and Steffy slept together and how Steffy’s family kidnapped her.
Brooke calls to reinstate Rick’s security 24/7 and then gets a visit from Stephanie. Stephanie taunts her about Ridge being with Taylor, but Brooke won’t let her undermine her faith in Ridge. Brooke thinks Stephanie should be more worried about getting Pam out of jail and Stephanie is shocked Brooke has finally come around. Brooke is just worried about their son and Stephanie tells her Rick tops L.A.’s list of least likeable people in the city. The women engage in another round of verbal battle while trying to figure out who could have attacked Rick, ending with Stephanie saying she won’t let Pam take the fall for something someone else did.
Steffy comes to the living room in the cabin and sees Thomas starting a fire in the fireplace. They discuss how happy they are that their parents are there for each other and Steffy asks what’s going to happen to him. Ridge and Taylor come out and Ridge says they will be there for him and Taylor clarifies that they just fell asleep in their clothes together. Ridge tells Thomas and Steffy that they have to keep Thomas’ guilt their secret. Thomas will do whatever Ridge thinks is best and Taylor confirms it is best for everyone. Ridge asks Steffy if she realizes that too and she asks Thomas to promise her he won’t do anything else to Rick. Thomas nods his head and Ridge says the sooner they go home, the sooner they can fix this.
Katie stops by Jackie’s office looking for Nick to drop off his cell phone. Jackie wonders if Katie is just checking up on Nick, but Katie brushes it off. Jackie thinks Katie is bad news for her son and she won’t let Nick throw his life away on the likes of her. The women banter and Katie reminds Jackie that Nick loves her and still wants to marry her. Jackie just hopes Nick sees her for the woman she is. Katie is done with Jackie and puts her on notice that if she messes with her relationship with Nick, she will have the fight of her life because there’s one thing the Logan girls know how to do and that’s fight for their men.
Steffy comes to Rick’s place and runs into his arms. Rick is thrilled to see her and they make out and then get playfully passionate on the couch. After they have sex, Rick wonders how Steffy escaped the clutches of her parents. They talk about Pam being in jail for attacking him and Steffy gets a weird look on her face. Rick wonders if she knows something he doesn’t and says she can tell him anything. Steffy agrees there shouldn’t be any secrets between them, not now or ever.
Ridge and Brooke are reunited and Brooke shares her doubts over Pam’s guilt. She thinks the person who attacked Rick is still out there and that Rick is still in danger. Brooke gets all worked up worrying about her son, but Ridge assures her there’s no need to worry anymore because Rick is not in danger. Brooke doesn’t understand how he can be so certain and Ridge says he has to do something right now, but he will come back and explain. He instructs her to call off all the security on Rick because there is no need for it.
At home, Thomas wonders what he’s done and thinks about Rick’s car exploding.
Taylor calls James Warwick for help with Thomas, which Thomas overhears and he asks his mother if she thinks he’s crazy. Taylor says no, but his judgment has her concerned. Thomas understands but his concern is that Steffy is still with that ‘scum’ Rick. Taylor tells her son his reaction to Rick can never happen again. Thomas is eager to hear from Ridge because he said he would handle everything. Taylor has complete confidence in Ridge and says they are both committed to protecting their children.
Ridge goes to FC and sees his mother. Stephanie wonders what he’s doing back and Ridge tells her Steffy is no longer in danger because Thomas was the culprit. Stephanie is shocked and Ridge explains he was just trying to protect the family. He needs Stephanie’s help, but tells her Thomas confessing is not an option. Stephanie says he has to go to the police so they will release Pam, but Ridge says Pam needs to stay in jail in order to protect Thomas.

Wednesday, March 25
Stephanie and Ridge debate Thomas vs. Pam, Thomas worries, Steffy and Rick enjoy each other, and Brooke learns the truth.
Stephanie can’t believe Ridge is asking Pam to take the fall for Thomas. Ridge responds that Pam should probably be in jail anyway for what she did to Donna and Eric. Stephanie scoffs, but Ridge says he will not let Thomas go to jail. Stephanie thinks they should get the best legal representation to defend him, but Ridge still worries Thomas will go to prison for the rest of his life. Stephanie doesn't want the same for Pam, but Ridge says Thomas has the rest of his life ahead of him. Stephanie wonders how they will get Rick out of their lives. Ridge doesn’t know, but he will not let him destroy his daughter. Stephanie asks what Steffy had to say about all this and Ridge replies that she was furious with Thomas and stood by Rick as if they were married and that she couldn’t wait to get back to him. Stephanie wonders if Steffy realizes if she tells Rick the truth she will lose her brother. Stephanie can’t let her sister stay in jail and Ridge says there is only circumstantial evidence against her, so if they get her a great lawyer maybe they can persuade the DA to drop the charges. Stephanie wonders what happens if that doesn’t work, but Ridge doesn’t know. He only knows that no one can find out that Thomas did this.
Thomas tells Taylor Pam shouldn’t be in jail, but Taylor wants him to give Ridge a chance to work it out. Thomas doesn’t think Ridge has a solution other than lying. He reiterates that all he wanted to do was scare Rick and Taylor asks him to let it go. Thomas says he played right into Rick’s hands and now Ridge will have to lie to the cops. He knows Rick will find out and he won’t be satisfied until he destroys them all. Taylor tells her son holding in his anger is what brought upon all this trouble, but Thomas can’t get over thinking about Rick being with Steffy right now. Taylor reassures Thomas she and Ridge will help him and love him, but Thomas worries the trouble he’s caused will hurt them. Taylor assures her son there is nothing he could do that would change the fact that she loves him.
Katie comes to see Brooke who tells her Ridge cancelled the squad car because he thinks Rick is safe, but she doesn't know why. Katie thinks Ridge obviously knows who has been threatening Rick and Brooke agrees. She doesn’t know where he is now, but she’s worried about him because he knows something, but she’s afraid to find out what it is. Katie and Brooke wonder what happened in Big Bear to make Ridge not worry anymore about Steffy. Katie tells Brooke she and Ridge will have to live with the tragedy of Phoebe dying and Rick’s involvement in that. She thinks it would be pretty amazing if Ridge could forgive Rick, but Brooke says there is no other choice if they want to stay together. Katie notes there is a lot to forgive, but Brooke thinks Ridge is working on it every day and believes it will work out.
Still lying wrapped in sheets on the couch, Rick tries to get answers out of Steffy as to how she got away from her parents. Steffy evades, so Rick starts bad mouthing Ridge. Steffy defends her father and when Rick says Pam is the guilty one, Steffy adamantly tells him she’s not. Rick asks her if she knows who is trying to kill him. Rick assumes it’s Ridge, but Steffy insists it’s not him. Rick presses for answers, but Steffy distracts him by kissing him. Rick tells Steffy she is safe with him and that there is nothing they can’t share and nothing he can’t deal with. After some more lovin', Rick badmouths Thomas and Steffy asks him to stop it. Rick didn't know it was such a sensitive subject, but Steffy says he has done some crazy things but he is her brother and she loves him.
Ridge comes home and Brooke hopes he’s right about Rick being safe. Ridge says he would never put Rick in danger. Brooke learns Ridge was with Stephanie and asks him to explain what’s going on. Ridge tells her Pam isn’t the one who has been threatening Rick’s life, but the person who is after him is someone they know and love. Ridge tries to explain how Rick has pushed them all to their limits, but thinks he was never really in danger. Brooke doesn’t agree, but Ridge explains the person was just trying to send a message. Brooke doesn’t buy it saying the person is evil and vicious, but Ridge breaks it to a shocked Brooke that Thomas is the one who attacked Rick.

Thursday, March 26
Brooke promises to keep quiet, Owen flirts with both Bridget and Jackie, and Rick learns Thomas is his attacker.
Brooke can’t believe Thomas was the one who tried to kill Rick, but Ridge explains why Thomas did it. Brooke hopes he and Taylor are getting Thomas the help he needs, but Ridge retorts that he can’t condemn his son because he feels the same way about Rick. They discuss the issue more and Brooke thinks something has to be done. Ridge says he has no intention of letting Pam rot in jail, but makes it clear that Thomas will not confess to the crime. Stunned, Brooke can’t understand Ridge’s reasoning, but Ridge thinks Rick can’t know it was Thomas. Brooke worries how her son will cope with living in fear that the person who was after him is still out there. Ridge promises Thomas won’t do anything to Rick and vows to make things right. Brooke thinks Ridge is keeping promises he can’t keep and Ridge points out Brooke has been making excuses for her son, so she should have compassion for his. Brooke tells Ridge she loves Thomas, but he’s gone off the deep end. Ridge reminds Brooke of all the compromises he’s made for her regarding Storm and Rick and now it’s his turn to ask her to do the same for him. Brooke asks who else knows about this and Ridge tells her Steffy, Taylor and Stephanie. Brooke doesn’t think Stephanie will keep quiet, but Ridge assures her his mother will. Brooke promises to keep the secret as well and Ridge embraces her.
Thomas thinks he has made some really bad choices and now his life is over. Taylor again tells her son Ridge is handling things, but Thomas thinks maybe jail is where he belongs. Thomas asks for some time alone to get his thoughts together.
Owen comes to Jackie’s office and finds Bridget working. She tries to tell him she’s there for a lunch date, but Owen finds some rough draft drawings on the floor and figures out she’s Madame X. He thinks her stuff is good and playfully asks how secret she wants her secret to stay. She says she doesn’t have any hush money to give him, but he tells her he could use a job. Bridget reminds him she’s not the boss and then Owen leans in for a kiss. He tells her he’s been waiting to do that again, but Bridget tells him she won’t kiss anymore princes to turn into frogs and that she doesn’t want to get involved with anyone who shows interest in her because it proves they can’t be trusted. Jackie comes in and Owen introduces himself. She already knows who he is and learns that Owen knows Bridget is Madame X. Jackie asks if they have room for another body, but Bridget doesn’t think the dogs are finished with the last one yet. Jackie asks, “Then what are we going to do with him?” Owen says he won’t tell anyone that Bridget is Madame X and that he wants a job. Jackie wonders what exactly he does and Bridget leaves. Owen asks, “What do you need me to do?”
Jackie and Owen engage in some playful banter as Jackie asks what kind of position he is looking for. Owen says he will take anything – sitting, standing…lying down. Jackie notes he hasn’t been in the industry long, but Owen explains how connected he feels to fashion and she questions him on the surf line. He thinks it was the right line for the wrong company, but that he worked on all aspects of the line, including modeling. Jackie tells him she has no positions to fill, but seductively tells him she will keep him in mind as opportunities arise. Owen thanks her and leaves.
Rick goes to see Thomas and wonders why he suddenly has a problem with him. Thomas lets him know it’s not so sudden. Rick tells Thomas what happened to Phoebe was an accident, but Thomas just wants Rick to leave. Rick wonders what kind of grudge Thomas is holding against him and Thomas gets riled up explaining how upset he is that Rick went through the women in his family. As he gets more upset, Rick suddenly realizes it was Thomas who set his house on fire and blew up his car. The two argue about their entwined pasts and Rick defends his part in it. He reminds Thomas that both Phoebe and Taylor dumped him, not the other way around. Thomas thinks Ridge was Rick’s real target and he polluted his family in the process. Now, thanks to Rick, Thomas has nothing left to lose. Rick is sick and tired of being everyone’s all-purpose blame receptacle. He says no one’s life is perfect, but they don’t all go around setting houses on fire. Rick threatens to call the cops and Thomas grabs him. Rick goes to throw a punch, but Ridge stops him saying, “Don’t you ever lay a hand on my son!”
Jackie looks at Owen’s book and sees some modeling shots of him and gets a little flustered.

Friday, March 27
Ridge appeals to Rick’s sense of compassion, Jackie and Owen flirt, and Rick makes some demands.
Rick breaks free of Ridge’s grip and lets Ridge know he has learned Thomas is the one who tried to kill him. They argue about it and Rick thinks Thomas is worse than he has ever been. Ridge vows that Thomas won’t do anything to him again, but Rick won’t spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder. Rick wants to call Lt. Baker, but Ridge stops him. Rick can’t believe Ridge wants him to let this slide and lambastes Thomas for what he did. Thomas apologizes and Rick takes it to heart, but he won’t feel safe until Thomas is behind bars. Ridge asks Thomas to leave the two of them alone and Thomas reluctantly complies.
Taylor and Steffy meet up at FC and Steffy assures Taylor she didn’t tell Rick about Thomas. Taylor thinks if Rick finds out the truth there is no telling what he’ll do. Steffy trusts Rick and thinks he would keep the secret for her. Taylor isn’t so sure and thinks telling Rick could be a huge mistake. Steffy asks what about Pam and Taylor tells her Stephanie phoned and informed her that Pam was freed because there wasn't enough evidence to convict her. Steffy worries that Rick will freak out because he thinks Pam is after him, but Thomas comes in and informs them Rick knows it was him. Thomas worries Rick will turn him in, but Steffy thinks she can get through to him. Thomas doesn’t think so because now Rick has a whole new way to torment Ridge and the family.
Ridge explains to Rick how Brooke pleaded with him not to turn him in after Phoebe died. Rick again says what happened to Phoebe was a tragic accident and he never meant to hurt her. Ridge maintains he still could have gone to prison, but he didn’t file charges, thereby giving him a second chance. Now it’s Ridge’s turn to ask Rick to give his son a second chance. Rick notes he is holding all the cards now and instructs Ridge to convince him why he should save Thomas. Ridge thinks Rick needs to have some compassion and should look at the situation through Thomas’s eyes and recalls all the things Rick has done. Ridge tells Rick he can make up for the tragedy of Phoebe’s death by not sending Thomas to prison for the best years of his life. Ridge asks Rick in the name of compassion to not throw Thomas’ life away. Rick understands that Thomas never meant to hurt him, but points out that the cops won’t see it that way. Ridge says this is a chance to do the right thing and it will make Steffy happy if he does right by her brother. Rick agrees to keep quiet, but it will come with a high price tag. He doesn’t want money, but he does want a new car and a fresh coat of paint on his beach house. Ridge says, “Done,” but Rick isn’t finished. He wants to have equal footing at FC and to be treated as the rightful heir that he is. He then has one last demand: Steffy. He informs Ridge he must accept his relationship with Steffy - all the ups and downs and ins and outs. He smirks and says there will be a lot of ins and outs, if Ridge knows what he means. Rick then says Ridge will endure everything he has endured from Ridge and Brooke over the years such as him and Steffy in the steam room, him and Steffy behind closed doors at the office, him and Steffy alone at his house and Steffy modeling the latest lingerie line for him. Rick wonders how sick he is making Ridge and calls it justice. He says he is the future of the company and he will take Steffy along with him for the ride and he will give Steffy the ride of her life. He tells Ridge he owns his ‘butt’ and Steffy’s too.
Jackie runs into Owen at the restaurant and joins him at his table. Jackie and Owen engage in flirtatious banter as well as some shoptalk. Owen wishes Rick would have given him a second chance after the surf line failed, but he needed a scapegoat. He hopes someone else gives him a shot to prove himself and Jackie tells him she looked through his portfolio and thinks he has some fine talents. The waiter comes over with Jackie’s carryout order and she buys Owen’s drinks and leaves.

Monday, March 30
Rick calls a meeting to put the issue of his attacker to rest.
Brooke thanks Rick for keeping quiet about Thomas and he tells his mother he’s doing what’s best for himself.
Ridge tells Taylor that Rick will keep quiet about Thomas in exchange for a clear path to Steffy. Thomas and Steffy come to see their parents who are worried about what Rick might do. Steffy defends Rick, but Thomas thinks Rick will use this secret to his advantage when he wants something.
Everyone gathers to hear Rick’s announcement. He tells Eric he can call off the guards because there are no new leads in the case. Bridget thinks Rick knows who attacked him and Eric demands a name. Rick says the person never intended to hurt him and all the issues between them have been rectified. Donna wants Rick to turn the person in and Katie thinks Lt. Baker can continue the investigation without him. Rick doesn't care; all he knows is he and Steffy are safe. Eric pulls Rick aside and urges him to reconsider. Rick tells his father he won't let this matter turn into a circus and then tells everyone he isn’t afraid what will happen to him. He’s optimistic about the future and hopes all of them feel the same.
Eric thinks the danger still exists for Rick, but Brooke tries to convince Eric, Donna, Katie and Bridget that Rick is safe. She says if Rick wants to move on, then they need to follow his lead and do the same.
Rick tells Ridge, Taylor, Steffy and Thomas that he gave everyone what they needed and he should receive some gratitude. Thomas still doesn’t like Rick, but he thanks him for saving his life today. He’s not apologizing, but he owes both Rick and Steffy and is sorry he let his sister down. Thomas and Rick shake hands and Steffy hugs her brother. Thomas leaves and Rick asks Ridge if he will stand in his and Steffy’s way. Rick says Thomas has made some mistakes and he has too but he won’t hold that against him. He doesn't want to make anyone’s life miserable he just wants a truce for Steffy’s sake. He holds out his hand to Ridge and Ridge shakes it thanking him for what he’s done. Steffy asks if Ridge is really ready to accept them as a couple and Ridge says he can do better than that. Someone knocks at the door and delivers a gown. Ridge presents it to Steffy as a wedding gown he’s been working on for years since she was born. Steffy is floored and Ridge says it’s her choice to make; he doesn’t want the distance between them anymore. He has to rely on her best judgment now and Steffy is so excited she doesn't know what to say. Ridge just wants her to think about what and who she wants in her life. Steffy hugs her father and thanks him. Ridge and Taylor leave and Steffy tells Rick this is a miracle and hugs Rick, but he looks skeptical.
In Ridge’s office, Taylor asks Ridge what he was thinking and Ridge says Rick and Steffy getting married is the last thing he wants, but their only hope is their daughter. Ridge thinks they have to rely on Steffy’s good judgment, but Taylor thinks it’s too much of a gamble because she thinks Rick walks on water. Ridge can’t fight Rick because it will bring him and Steffy closer together. He thinks they can only hope she will come to her senses before the wedding takes place.
Steffy tells Rick he is the right man for her and that he will make a great husband. She thinks all the revenge and anger between him and Ridge will end as soon as they get married. Rick wants to live and love life with her and they engage in a steamy kiss.

Tuesday, March 31
Owen takes a job with Jackie, Bridget tells Eric about her new job, Brooke and Ridge enjoy the steam room, and Rick and Steffy spend the day on the beach.
Brooke is thrilled Rick and Steffy are getting married and that Ridge won’t stand in their way. She thinks it's good news for both families and hugs her son, but Rick doesn’t look quite as excited.
Bridget shows Eric her sketches and tells him she is working at Jackie M as Madame X. Eric is dumbfounded and Bridget tries to explain how important it was to prove herself outside of the Forrester world. Eric understands that Bridget needed to do it on her own terms and suggests she come on at FC, the way it should be. Bridget tells him a lot is riding on her designs for Jackie M and she has to see this through. She thinks they will work together some day and Eric admires her guts and courage. It’s exactly the kind of thing he would expect from her and he embraces a teary Bridget.
Owen shows up to Jackie’s office after she requested him for another interview. She says there is always room for the right person at her company, if he’s still interested. Owen wonders what changed her mind, but Jackie tells him she was going to offer him a job as a designer, but she doesn’t think designing is really his forte. After looking at his resume again she realized he had other assets and she needs help with contracts for suppliers and retailers. In return, she will help raise his profile in the fashion world. She asks if he is intrigued and Owen says in more ways than one. Owen thinks they should seal their deal with a glass of bubbly and pulls out a bottle and glasses he brought with him just in case. Jackie laughs at his arrogance and notes he will be working with Bridget. Owen says with them all working together there is no way they can miss.
Brooke calls Ridge to meet her in the steam room. They meet up and share a passionate kiss. Brooke tells Ridge she’s happy he has accepted her son and Ridge tells her he lives for making her happy. Brooke thinks their families finally have a chance to heal because of everything he’s done and if that doesn’t deserve a special reward, what does? She takes off her towel and then his and they get down and dirty.
In the halls of FC, Marcus tries to grab a dress out of Steffy’s hand thinking it’s something Eric needs for alterations. Steffy tells him it’s her wedding gown and Marcus wonders if it’s what she really wants. Rick enters and tells him of course it’s what she wants and says if Ridge can come around then so can he. Rick tells Steffy he has a romantic surprise and thinks ‘Marco’ can hold down the fort while they're gone. Rick and Steffy get on the elevator, leaving Marcus to stew.
Brooke and Ridge come back to the office from their steam and Brooke sees Steffy’s headdress for her wedding gown. Brooke is surprised to hear Ridge gave his daughter a wedding dress and Ridge explains he’s been working on it for some time. Brooke thinks it sounds like he’s rushing them to the altar, but Ridge is just trying to be supportive. Even though he’s dying inside, he wants to let Steffy know he’s not trying to run her life. Ridge also tells Brooke that he hopes Steffy comes to her senses before the wedding takes place. Brooke tells him Rick thought Ridge was finally seeing him differently, but Ridge recounts how Rick was talking about Steffy when he was negotiating a deal regarding Thomas. Brooke knows Rick has flaws, but she doesn’t see him as the devil, the way Ridge chooses to believe. Ridge hopes Steffy will see Rick for who he really is: a blackmailing, deceitful son of a…. Ridge lost a daughter because of Rick, Thomas is in need of mental care because of Rick and if he loses Steffy because of Rick as well, he won't be able to handle it.
Steffy and Rick enjoy the day at the Santa Monica Pier inline skating, riding roller coasters, playing video games and sitting on the dock looking at the ocean. Rick and Steffy then walk under the pier and kiss. Rick pulls out a ring box and opens it revealing a diamond ring. He puts it on her finger and Steffy jumps in his arms.
Bridget comes to Jackie’s office looking to celebrate, but finds Owen there instead. He says Jackie was called away and asks why she’s in such a good mood. Bridget explains she told Eric about her being Madame X and how he’s supportive of her new career path. She hugs Owen and then they kiss. They break it off and Owen apologizes saying he understands it’s too soon for her to get involved and he won’t cross the line again…unless she begs him to.
