Information on Jack Wagner
Jack Wagner plays the brash and earthy sea captain Dominick Payne-Marone, whose seemingly uncultivated ways belie his secret wealthy origins, on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.
Wagner majored in Theater Arts in college, attending the University of Missouri and later graduating from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Drama. His theatrical background of singing, dancing and acting would prove to be the true cornerstone in a diversified career.
In 1983, Wagner landed a starring role on the #1 daytime series, General Hospital playing rocker Frisco Jones. He earned the role as an actor and soon learned that he would be required to sing. After recording several songs for the show, Wagner signed a recording deal on Quincy Jones' label, Qwest. Within six months of its release, his first single "All I Need" was #2 on the pop charts and #1 on the adult contemporary charts.
Returning to his theatrical roots in 1987, Wagner toured nationally as Tony in "West Side Story" and as Danny Zuko in "Grease" the following year. He came back to daytime two years later, joining the cast of Santa Barbara where he played the Hemingwayesque writer, Warren Lockridge.
Wagner once again returned to the theater in Neil Simon's "They're Playing Our Song" at the Long Beach Civic Light Opera in 1992. A year later, Wagner made the move to nighttime television, joining the hit series Melrose Place where he spent the next five seasons; both directing and acting.
In 2000, he took over the role of a lifetime moving to Broadway, starring in the title role of "Jekyll and Hyde." The following year, Wagner once again worked with Aaron Spelling and accepted the lead in the primetime series Titans.
Finally in 2003, Wagner made the move to where he now calls home joining the company of THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.
Throughout his career, Wagner has starred in over fifteen made-for-television movies and has appeared in over 40 theatrical productions around the country. He is a scratch golfer and has won six club championships at his home course in Los Angeles, the Bel-Air Country Club.
Last year, Wagner released a CD entitled "Dancing in the Moonlight," his first studio release since his collaborations with producers Quincy Jones and Glen Ballard more than a decade ago. Most of the twelve songs on the CD, including the already released single "Going Back Again," were penned by Wagner and will continue to be featured in episodes of THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. "Dancing in the Moonlight" is available on the B&B official website at www.boldandbeautiful.com, on iTunes, and at the concert venues where Wagner performs. His first single from the album, "Going Back Again," is available as an MP3 download also on the B&B website for just $1.
