Hello all! I'm quite new to this board. I've been reading posts on this site, but this is my first post.
I know this is both Stephanie and Taylor site, but I decided to post here because I guess you are the most suitable persons to answer my question. First of all I have to say, that I'M A FAN OF TAYLOR AND BROOKE, BUT I DON'T LIKE STEPHANIE.
So my questions is, how you guys can like Stephanie? This is not a provocation, I'd just like to understand, why people like Stephanie.
The woman has caused nothing but the misery to the family she claims to love. She has always manipulated her family and other people around. And she always blames Brooke.
Ridge and Bridget had "an affair" - Stephanie said it was Brooke's fault.
Stephanie has done worse things than Brooke. For example:
- Stephanie has tried to kill Brooke at least twice (Big Bear, for example)
- Stephanie has stolen Brooke's children (Rick and Bridget), and ancouraged Taylor to steal Hope and RJ. (Thank god Taylor has class, and hasn't participated to Stephanie's evil plan)
- Stephanie has tried to steal Brooke's invention (Belief)
- Stephanie has enjoyed of Brooke's misery uncountable times (Usually after Ridge has left Brooke)
What kind of woman gets satisfaction of other human beings misery?!
- And the newest, a faked heart attack!

wel, well, well just let me start by saying this:
Brooke deserves the attempted murder's on her, what makes her think that committing incest in an entire family is appropriate?
Steph never stole Brooke's children, she was married to their father and when Brooke ran off chasing her destiny, her kids were left to bascily fend for themsleves, so of course, she acted like any ohter step-mother should and cared for the children when Brooke didn't!
Steph did not try to steal her invention, Brooke was playing games a s usual and Ridge not Steph set her up for the take.
I too would enjoy her misery if she purposely broke up my marriage and had two kids by my husband and then turned around and started screwing my son's and whoever else in between, I didn't see Brookies complaining when she was rubbing all that in Steph's face.
now, the faked heart attack upset me too, but hey! I guess she felt desperation finally and since the men in the family only think with their shaboinka's she felt she had to do something to get Brooke out! Now, I will say it again, I don't agree with the writing here, and Steph IMO would have never stooped that low, but this is soap land and like I said before
If you can love Brooke for screwing in the name of love, we can back Steph for screwing up in the name of love!

Well said realitycheck! I agree 100%.
I love Steph because she's the only person on this show who's seen Brooke for what she is every time she's pulled a stunt on the Forrester clan. Who would love a woman who swoops in and beds every man in the same family "in the name of love"?
Sure, Steph can be caustic. It's her protective instinct kicking in to get the parasite known as Brooke out of her family's life. Brooke's never been "redeemed" as some have said..she's only been forgiven by the men she's duped and her emotionally damaged daughter. She keeps repeating the same mistakes over and over..and they all end up tearing apart some other couple. It doesn't matter who's involved, Brooke's out for Brooke and Steph sees it like it is.
I'm not crazy about this heart-attack fiasco but understand how Steph could have gone there. Last ditch effort by the Queen to get that tramp gone for good and restore the family Steph has worked so hard to keep together.
You've blasted our girl Steph for her misdeeds but can you honestly list the transgressions Brooke's done over the years? I'm better they're sugar coated at best.
To each their own but I'm in Steph's corner all the way.

My reaons to love Stephanie have nothing to do with Brooke or Taylor. Stephanie is the most complex character in the soap imho, at least she was it before BBell decided to ruin her. Stephanie as enormous strengths, is intelligent and clever. The most important reaons I love Stephanie? Susan Flannery! I watched B&B in the beginning, SF was amazing, acting in circles around the rest of the cast (and I like some other actors in the show, I'm not putting them down, it is just that SF is so much more). Stephanies outbursts, the questionable love to her son Ridge, her frustrated sexuality, the moral conflict if she would allow herself an affair with Bill Spencer or Clarke, the all evident fear of losing Eric, no matter what, the relationship with his children, her forgiving everything when it comes to him, SF made and still makes it believable. There is noone like Stephanie and the actress who portrays her. Would you believe that I needed 15 minutes to put that post together? It sucks not to speak the language  . |

It is the fact that she will stop at nothing to protect her family. Stephanie has reached new lows, yes, I can definitely agree with that. But she did it all to get Brooke out of their lives.
Come on now, would you want a woman like Brooke around your husband and children? Wouldn't you be insecure or precautious whenever this woman was around? Like RC said, she only had two children by the woman's husband! She only has slept with all of his sons, even after she slept with him.
Stephanie has definitely hurt herself with her latest scheme. I totally agree with that. However, don't hate Stephanie for hurting your precious Brooke when Brooke is a whore and has wrecked her entire family. In reality, Brooke's butt would have been whooped and she would not still be around!

I forgot to mention in the original post, that I also adore Susan Flannery and her acting capabilities. She an outstanding actress, and I'm enjoying to watch her performance. She is one of the characters who make this show.
I like to watch Stephanie in action, but I can't agree with Stephanie's opinions and expecially with her hatred towards Brooke.
If the reason Steph hates Brooke is that she's been with Eric, Ridge and Thorne, why did she hate her before Brooke and Eric married? Nowadays she can say that she tries to save the family from man-hungry Brooke, but to me it seems to be an excuse. That's because she hated Brooke almost from the first moment she saw her with Ridge.
About the stealing the children, Brooke didn't abandon Rick and Bridget and run for her destiny. Brooke had serious mental issues, and she lost her memory.
I admit that Brooke has done something she shouldn't have. The reason I love Brooke is that she's honest and doesn't want to hurt anyone intentionally.

Bravo Steph lovers I cannot add another thing. Awesome posts you guys!!! Btw Brooke Fan 4...Brooke isn't honest, she only fesses up when she's gotten caught. In Brooke's world if no-one finds out...she hasn't done anything wrong.

brooke04, I respect your opinion about Brooke, and you should give the same respect to Steph lovers...
and about Steph hating Brooke before she married Eric is true, Brooke showed up out of nowhere with her momma to cater a party at the Forrester's, Brooke was obsessed with Ridge's life before she even met him, she wanted what Caroline had and she stooped to devious levels to get it, and Steph knew it, so she's always had her card from day one. and please don't say shse hated her because she is Beth's daughter, in that case you can say Brooke hated her mother too, because hse knew how her mother felt about Eric.
about her mental problem, why did it occur?! because she was so called devastated becuase Ridge left her for Taylor again! so it is true when I said she was chasing her destiny, and when she couldn't get him with her newest teddy, she lost it! GO FIGURE!!! luckily there wasn't a man nearby then......
Brooke does not have one honest bone in her body, if she was really honest, she would have told Nick a long time ago to stay way from her while she's in a vulnerable state, if she was honest she wouldn't have been meeting Deacon secretly in her office kissing on him when Budge was right in the hall and then hugging her daughter while staring into Deacon's eyes over her shoulder......

Without reading any of the other replies before I write this, I´d say my reasons for loving Stephanie is... Shes a very interesting character. She is good-hearted and she does love her family more than anything in the world. She only wants what is best for them. And a person that is the daughter of her ex-rival, the person who was involved with Ridge, Eric, Thorne, Deacon & Nick, and stole the company Stephanie´s father paid for to build up... If you had a person like that in your family, I doubt very much you would like her very much. Look away from your love for Brooke, and just look at it from Stephanie´s perspective. Look at how Brooke hated Amber and did her best to get rid of her. And Amber hadn´t done half the things that Brooke has done. But Brooke isn´t the reason why I love Stephanie at all. I loved Stephanie´s character from the moment I first saw her. You can say I hate Brooke because of Stephanie instead, because that is more true. Steph is a very strong woman who also follows what her heart tells her. Just like Brooke. And we all know their hearts never want the same things... ;D I like how strong Stephanie is and I admire that in her. All other women cries most of the time. I am up to here with Brooke-crying. I just want to switch channel whenever she starts with her waterworks. It is just too freakingly annoying!!! So her life hasn´t been easy. Whose life is?? But you don´t have to cry about it all the time. I also like that Steph is smart, has great lines, makes things happen. She´s BOLD. And that is very important on a show called "the BOLD and the beautiful". Yes, Steph can be bitchy. But look at the people she is bitchy too. She isn´t bitchy for the sake of being bitchy when she is bitchy. She is bitchy when she feels something so strong that she just wants to "eliminate" that problem. She doesn´t sit around, moping about everything that is wrong. She does something about it. Every character is a bit extreme on B&B, because it is a soap opera. So if you tone down Stephanie a little bit (take away those extreme things she can do), then you get a very good person. Most B&B characters would be good people if you remove the extreme in them. But Stephanie has some qualities in her that I really do admire. But of course I don´t admire the extreme parts, like faking a heart attack, wanting to kill someone and such things. I tend to look away from the extreme and just look at the qualities in characters and judge from there. I don´t hate Brooke because of her sleeping around in the family. I hate her more because she is weak, she cries all the time, she can´t stand up for herself most of the time, she depends on there being a man in her life.... wow!!!!!! Perfect answer and explanation of the reasons of loving Steph!!! -) I totally agree with you loyalsteph! I adore Steph because she's a fighter, because she's a tiger, because she's rough but she can also be sweet and loyal. I adore her because she's like my mother is! I've always loved her since the first time, I've NEVER CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT HER, AND I WILL NEVER DO THAT! MY LOVE FOR HER IS UNCONDITIONAL! |

So, the moral is: if we love and appreciate our moms for everything they do for us (sons & doughters), then we will love, respect and understand Stephanie too!! What amazes me the most is that I've loved Steph since the beginning and I was very young (only 14!!). When you're 14 you love romantic (like Caroline, Taylor...)and superficial (like Brooke!) characters...and not STRONG, COMPLEX AND ROUGH characters like Steph! THIS MEANS THAT STEPH IS ACTUALLY SPECIAL!!  |

I like Stephanie as she is raw and truthful and that normally hurts people. I have a friend like her and we are the best of friends and love each other but about 2 or 3 times a year have a major blow out about the way she comes off, just plain raw. Now Steph isn't as raw as my friend, but she is very truthful and I think that is why most don't like her.
She is B&B, she has always been very nice to Gabby and her family so she doesn't hold them at a lower level you can tell that by how she interacts with them. At first when I was watching it I thought she put Brooke down because of where she came from, but it wasn't that at all.
I do think her and Brooke got off at first on the wrong foot because of Brooke's mother and Eric's relationship. However after that it just got worse.
I did like it when Brooke/Steph acted like they cared about each other, however where is the drama then!
I love how both actresses play their parts, they are great!

I have always loved Stephanie & after yesterday I can say that I love her even more. She didn't buckle when under pressure she stood her ground took her medicine like a true woman. Stephanie calls a spade, a spade, she doesn't care who likes it. That is one more of why I like her, she isn't afraid to face her enemies head on or take them on. She fights for what she thinks is right, she is never wishy washy. She's a mother who wants the best for the family & isn't afraid to fight for it. I could go on & on, but enough has been already said that I agree on.

I love your last post AnnaItaly! It was wonderful! Stephanie is a wonderful character indeed! I'd say she's Bell's greatest creation! She is the life of this show! She is a woman, a wife, a mother, a grand-mother, she is an everyday person, she's so REAL which is why I love her so much. Some Soap characters are too extreme, but Steph is just right.
I agree with you too Dee and Cntrygurl. Steph tells it like it is and I admire that so much. Steph did not deserve any of what Bell did to her, but if Bell comes to his senses from all our e-mails and letters, he'll realise the huge mistake he made with Steph and she'll be on top and Brooke and Jackie will be in the dog house.

Go Steph!! Stay strong. I like Stephanie because she is the greatest character on this show. She is very interesting. Not just one-tracked like Brooke for instance. And Steph is fun to watch also. SF is just fabulous!

I think this week on B&B may be a lot better. Finally! But...I haven't read any spoilers about Taylor forgiving Stephanie.  I know it'll happen...I'm just too impatient. I will never give up on Taylor or Stephanie. They make this show watchable for me. I hope Bell doesn't try to make Taylor a less moral character like he tried to do with Stephanie! |

That's because Brooke is to blame. Brooke stole her husband, and married both her children. Would YOU want a woman in your life who steals your husband and then goes on and marries both your children? I think not. This blonde bimbo has also gotten her claws into the company her father founded. Any human being, any mother, would feel compelled at making this woman disappear from their life, I assure you.

Stephanie has every right to get satisfaction in Brooke's misery after all the stunts Brooke has pulled on her family. After all, wasn't Brooke all smirky when Stephanie's fake heart attack was exposed? She was thrilled.
I love Stephanie also because I adore Susan Flannery. She is such a fantastic actress!!

Agree absolutely with Princess Silvia--SF as Stephanie is wonderful. I like her and the character she plays.
I have watched B&B since the first day some 18 years ago. Stephanie does love her family and without Stephanie, there wouldn't have been a family in the first place! All the men and even some of the women on the show seem to have amnesia about Brooker's deceit, manipulation, right out lies and how she has really taken pleasure in taking people and the business from Stephanie. All we see is Brooker crying when she gets caught and says I'm sorry. She's only sorry she got caught. Stephanie has character and never feels sorry for herself. She has always seen Brooker clearlyf for what she is.g
