HOW DID YOUR LIFE CHANGE SINCE 1987?
I realize of all the time that has passed when I look at my daughter Blaise that is now 20, just like BB. She was a child, then a teenager and now she’s a fantastic young woman that is going to live to Australia with her boyfriend. All this while, on the set, I was bringing to life that wonderful tiger-mother that is Mrs. Forrester.
A POLL ON THE INTERNET SEES STEPH THE LAST AMONG THE “IDEAL MOMS”…SHE’S CONSIDERED EVEN WORST THAN BROOKE WHO ‘S NOT AT ALL A SAINT SINCE SHE DESTROYED VARIOUS FAMILIES!
Steph is a woman that founds her whole life on her family, she lives motherhood like a mission and she’s overprotective with her children…..
She looks more like an Italian mom than an American mom!. I’ve never been that protective to Blaise. I sometimes had to be more strict to her, but she’s grown up fine. I taught her independence first of all. She studies Environment Science.
YOU PLAYED LAURA HORTON ….WAS SHE LIKE YOU ARE?
I recognized my self in her strength. I’ve been myself a very free woman: the most precious gift my parents gave me was the chance to follow my way. My dad worked in the cars branch, while my mom was a model. They’ve never forbidden my love for acting.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAV SL?
The homeless story and all the fights with Brooke (AND WHAT ABT ERIC?
)
HAVE YOU EVER FOUGHT LIKE STEPH WITH BROOKE?
I’ve never allowed anybody and anything to stop me. I’ve never had great problems with people though.
My real war was against cancer, diagnosed in 2000. I went into surgery and 3 weeks later I was working on the set. I had chemo and, in the meantime, I worked. It wasn’t heroism. It was the only real way to fight: going on with my life, being busy, planning the future. That’s the only way you can win. And that’s how I wanted my dear friend Darlene Conley could win who unfortunately didn’t have enough time.
AFTER SO MANY YEARS TOGETHER, DO YOU ACTORS FEEL LIKE A FAMILY?
We love each other and we tell each other anything abt our families, we talk abt policy.
But we rarely meet out of the set: there’s another life to live out there. I have a daughter and I also had a fly-license that kept me busy for many hours every month.
WHY HAS BB CONQUERED THE WORLD?
It was the first soap set in LA, a big rich city with beautiful actors. And remember that 20 years ago you only had us to dream abt: in Italy or France there were not your own TV products. (NOT THAT NOW THEY ARE MUCH BETTER
)
STEPH IS A GRANDMA, JUST LIKE BROOKE…WILL YOU ACCEPT TO BECOME GREAT-GRANDMOTHERS AND GREAT-GREAT-GRANDMOTHERS?
[she laughs] … who knows?? BB is a great love romance and a family saga like the old ones! This is what the public likes. We’ll go on until we’ll have stories to tell and coupe de theatre to hit you with!
