8 questions in 8 minutes with Katherine Kelly Lang
question: If you were Brooke, would you choose Ridge or Nick?
KKl: If I were Brooke?! I am Brooke (laughs)! All of a sudden Brooke thinks Nick is her soul mate, but I'm not sure i believe that. She thought she had figured this out, but that's only because there was no complication at the time with Nick and it's always been so hard with Ridge. Taylor, his mother, Caroline or somebody was always there. But I feel down deep that Ridge was and always will be so much a part of her heart. She can't just get rid of that.
question: Brooke has always had a problem with letting go and moving on. Have you ever experienced the same struggle in your life?
KKL: It's hard to let go of things and move on. I would think it is for everybody, but maybe not. I'm very sentimental. If I have to sell a horse, that's hard for me. Even with something as simple as cleaning out my closet, I have a hard time. I may take a while to make that decision, but once I do, I move on. I just make sure whatever it is goes to a good home.
question: Brooke has been involved with two of her daughter's husbands. As a mother of four, what do you think about Brooke's mothering skills?
KKL: There are other fish in the sea and she should go looking. The thought should never even have crossed her mind, but it happened. I think she means well.
question: Have you ever used your crying ability to get out of speeding ticket?
KKL: I get tickets all the time! I'll be going 50 in a 30 or do "California stops." everyone's like, "Why don't you just cry? To me, that's like lying. Some people talk their way out of it. I can't do any of that to the cops. In fact, I get kind of pissy. I can only bring the tears up to stay true to the work. I have to believe it and do it with the dialogue. I can't use it for a fake reason.
question: You haven't done a side acting gig in years. Does that still interest you?
KKL: I don't think I'm going to go out there and pound the pavement. It's too much to do at this point in my life. I like being more settled down, and this job is great for that. Of course, because I've been here for so long, it would be nice to do something else for a change of pace.
question: You're selling the horse that bucked you off and broke your arm. Were you nervous about riding after that incident?
KKL: I was nervous to ride that horse, but I got back on him and I've been riding. I'm buying another horse to do dressage, which is like ballet on horseback. I'll try a different sport beside endurance for a while, even though endurance is in my blood. I love to be out there in the mountains, going for miles, but I'm going to try something safer that has more discipline. I'm learning every day.
question: What is a perfect Saturday for you?
KKL: Just hanging out with the kids and my husband, doing a family day. We usually do some sports in the morning, go see a movie and then to dinner.
question: Do you and your hubby still have date night?
KKL: We lost that for a while. It's important, because it gives you time to catch up, communicate and be on the same page.
