FROM SOW:
The Bold and the Beautiful cashed in on its part of the Lauren Koslow/Joseph Mascolo soap swap, when Koslow, who plays Days of our Lives' Kate, reprised her role as B&B's Margo for a few episodes in 2002.
But will Days of our Lives ever lure Mascolo (now B&B's Massimo) back as Stefano DiMera?
Possibly, says B&B boss Bradley Bell. "We have to resolve that," he admits. "It's not just Ken [Corday, Days' executive producer] and me, though. There are other people involved."
Bell's mom, Lee Phillip Bell, who co-created B&B with her late husband, Bill Bell, will certainly have a say in the matter. "My mother watches the shows before I do," reveals the honcho. "She gets the tapes immediately, weeks before they air, and she gives me feedback." Of course, quips Lee, "He doesn't always take it!"

Thanks for the info. B&B could lend over Joe now. I don´t see Massimo on my screen much these days.

That's true Cecilia, but I'd hate to see B&B lose Massimo forever. I love Massimo!

I have liked Mass, until he turned on Stephanie at that last almost-wedding between Boo ho and Icy. They need to explain what he's been doing in the last few weeks too. His betrayal was out of character. Again, the writers just piled it on Stephanie without making sense.

I totally agree GoStephanie, the writing in this soap isn't coherent at all.

I agree with you angel. I would like to see ErWeak suffer as he watches Mass compete for Stephanie's love and attention with a new, younger, and richer man--like John Hurley, who would play ErWeak's brother. Writers, give us some intelligent dialog and banter, instead of the declasse, repetitive, "you are my real soulmate" and face sucking scenes they keep giving Boo ho to play. Otherwise, I'll have to reach for the No-Doz. After niala passes me the pepto bismol--if there's any left!

Margo is Mark's mother, Clarke is his dad and Margo is his mom. GoStephanie, I think for the coming weeks we're going to need Pepto Bismol, Maalox Max, MyLanta, Tums, Rolaids and probably some valium to top it all off. ;D B&B is seriously lacking in the creativity department. I love the idea of Eric fuming over the male attention Steph would be getting from Massimo and his brother John! It's a wonderful storyline! I think it's horrible how the writers have written off Stephanie's sexuality because of her age. Have these people never seen The Golden Girls? No matter how old women get, they're still vibrant, sensual beings. How is it Eric gets to still be appealing but Stephanie doesn't? Someone please explain that to me.

There is no good explanation for the way men and women are viewed, no matter what their age. Although we criticize Boo ho for her tramphood, I am equally critical of men who have no spine, taste, or will power to resist her. As for the ageism, that has never been fair. Men are always described as distinguished, the gray at their temples is described as silver. Men's wrinkles add "character" to their face. Women just get "old" and they are not "forgiven" for aging or having wrinkles. Life just isn't fair. Maybe women are given the worse end of the bargain because we are the stronger sex--we can take anything that is dished to us. I'm no feminist who believes in burning our bras--I think we need all the support we can get! Seriously, I truly believe there should be equal treatment of men and women, but humans haven't yet evolved to that point yet. Remember that the brain is still the sexist organ. Though I certainly like an attractive man, great conversation lasts longer than a short romp in bed. We should have both! Stephanie should have both, and Tay too. Writers, are you listening? I still think the writers must be predominantl male, if not all male.

I agree with you GoStephanie, the writers are probably mostly male and they think a woman is no longer sexy when she's 50 and over. That's an old stereotype and it needs to be broken. Stephanie is one of the sexiest women on this show, not only because of her outer beauty but because of her inner beauty as well, she can carry on a intelligent conversation and beat Boo Ho into the ground every time they argue. Just because Stephanie can't parade around in skimpy lingerie doesn't mean she's lost every milligram of her sensuality. What the writers have done to Stephanie is unforgiveable, and yet, more proof that these writers are living in the 15th Century. Why can't men and women be held to the same standard? If Stephanie is over the hill, well then by golly, Eric, Jackie, Massimo and Ridge are over the hill too. Taylor is on the list of soon to be over the hill actors/actresses, and so is Brooke. No wonder there's so much phsyical activity going on with Brooke these days, the writers are trying to make up for all the attention she won't get when she hits 50 and is no longer sexy!

You know, niala. I have for a long time now suspected the same. That we see so extremely much of Brooke´s sexuality on-screen these days because soon she will turn 50 and be "over the hill". I think they´re having Brooke act all slutty until she is considered too old, and then she will be another meddling mom.
It´s so sick these standards for women and so different standards for men.
And yes, the writers are mostly men. Bradley, Michael Mulchaney, John F Smith, John Castellanos, William J Bell... B&Bs writers over the years have mostly been men. Never has a woman had a big part in writing. Only as a lesser co-writer. I have always felt as though it´s apparent that men writes B&B. Look at how degrading women behave on B&B. But you have to give credit to one thing on B&B: At least they have main characters over 40-50. Some other (most other) soaps only have 20-30 year olds on frontburner. Joe Mascolo commented on this when he joined B&B. He said that it was apparent on "Days" that the show revolved alot around the younger generations, especially summertimes. But it´s different on B&B and he respects and likes that. Cause just look at the the 40+ characters on B&B: Eric, Stephanie, Ridge, Taylor, Brooke, Massimo, Jackie, Nick, Sally. These are all main characters.

Excellent post Cecilia! That's why Budge was brought back, when Boo Ho retires her lingerie, now we know who's gonna fill her shoes. I think it's horrible that women have not had significant writing posts, but oh boy does it show! And yes, it's very commendable that 40+ characters are still important and put on the frontburner, but how long has it been since Massimo and Sally were part of a storyline? Much too long! B&B needs to learn how to effectively use their characters without alienating any.

Excellent Cntrygurl! Massimo and Stephanie are so similar! I don't know why the writers don't let Stephanie forget about Eric and give Stephimo a chance. Now would be the perfect time!

Steph is still gorgeous and vibrant, she could definitely hook herself up with someone else but Eric! I want to see Jerkie foaming at the mouth in anger over Stephimo!

I would have a hard time seeing Steph w/ anyone other than Eric except maybe James, but I just see her and Mass more as friends then lovers.
Steph isn't one to jump around if she does move onto a new guy he will be the one for a long time!

I totally agree! You can't help who you fall in love with, and I admire and love Steph's loyalty, even if the man is scum. In an unrelated subject, Lauren Koslow (Kate, DOOL) looks amazing for her age! Has she had any work done?
