Information on Rick Hearst

Emmy Award winning actor Rick Hearst joined the cast of General Hospital in November 2002 as the passionate Ric Lansing. For his efforts, he won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama in 2004 and 2007. He was nominated in the same category in 2005.
Mr. Hearst grew up in New York in a tight-knit Italian Family. His mother is originally from Italy, making him a first generation American. Mr. Hearst's fascination for the ocean and sea life would have led him to a career in oceanography but, at the age of twelve, his focus shifted to acting when his mother remarried and they moved to Texas. Mr. Hearst went on to land an acting scholarship at The University of Texas at Austin. He starred in several theatrical productions while at U.T. in summer stock, and met his wife, Donna, in one of the productions. Mr. Hearst soon left Texas and moved to New York, where he quickly landed three agents. He studied at the Circle in the Square conservatory for two years, while auditioning for television and movie roles.
His first television role came in 1989, when he landed a role on Days of Our Lives. He went on to star in several daytime dramas over the next few years, including Guiding Light, The Young And The Restless and The Bold And The Beautiful. Mr. Hearst received the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in 1991 for his work on Guiding Light. He was also nominated three additional times in supporting categories. He has guest-starred in several primetime television series, including Charmed and Beverly Hills, 90210. In addition, Mr. Hearst can be seen in the independent feature film Carpool Guy.
Mr. Hearst and his wife live in the Los Angeles area with their two sons, Nicholas and Cameron. He is a first degree black belt in Karate. In his free time, he enjoys shooting pool and playing the guitar.
