i just came accross the post below from Madison on Soaptown's blog. I thought it was worth reposting here and great ideas for Brad B.:
1. Ridge who? The best thing for Brad B. (thank God that RM was the one to make the decision to leave)is that RM is gone and Bell can take this soap in another direction. That role should never be recast either. If RM had not been cast as Ridge in the beginning, then I would now say that they should indeed recast the character. But I really think he just did such a horrible job of acting that he hurt the character for me. If you had an actor such as Jack Wagner playing Ridge for all those years and he suddenly left for what ever the reason, then I would definitely say - lets recast.
I still can't believe that he's actually going to be doing some kind of movie soon. It's probably some really low budget movie. Hello movie execs. THERE ARE WAY BETTER ACTORS OUT THERE...on to #2...
2. Brooke needs to go looking for Ridge, get lost forever or die somewhere looking for him and NEVER COME BACK (get it -- Baby Come Back -Ha, Ha, Ha -- NOT!!). This would be the perfect opportunity for Brad to get rid of her. So instead she took her salary cut, re-signed her contract and Brad has her once again doing the only thing she knows and that's to destroy another family relationship by screwing their man them literally. I've never thought that she is a good actress any way. Look at the current storyline she's involved with. It can't be about helping Bill with the baby while she's (Katie) dealing with post-partum depression -- Oh no, it has to be about her sleeping with Bill. The only thing she's good at is having sex - anyone can do that including Stephanie. I've always believed that Stephanie "hit the head on the nail" every time she would call her "The tramp from the Valley". Think of the endless possibilities of other characters interacting in other SL's -- like at the top of my list would be Taylor with THorne -- if she was GONE FOREVER!!
3. I really like Thomas/Adam Gregory. He has great looks, he's a very decent actor. I also like Caroline/Linsy, too. They both look great as a couple and interact like two young adults in love. There on-screen chemistry is soooooo much more natural than we they have her paired up with Rick/Jacob -- YUCK!! She's a good actress, it's just that when she's with Rick he brings her down and makes her boring. I think their age difference also is a bad thing for the two characters. There is real long lasting (next 25 year potential) in THomas/Caroline romance/relationship. And that would help segway into also Caroline's family too. It's new, it's refreshing for a change. Thomas and Caroline sitting in a tree....
4. Rick - I hate Jacob Young as Rick. Brad B. if you're out there- bring back Kyle Lowder - he is sooooooo much better at playing Rick. And yes - I sincrely don't mean this in a mean way because my family is short - but, Jacob clearly has "Little Man Syndrome". That chin is held so high especially when he stands by McCook, Moss, Gregory etc. that it really looks painfull just to watch. Kyle Lowder did/does look much better up against the same folks. Both acting wise and physically wise.
5. Kimberly Matula - she needs to join mommy on her quest to look for Ridge. AND NEVER COME BACK EITHER!!
6. Liam/Steffy - I really like these two together. JMC is a great actress (Susan's caliber almost -- give her a few years - she really has great potential. And SC is a good actor but he is so much better when he is with JMW. I HATE Liam with Hope/Kimberly - she brings him down.
7. Donna/Jennifer Gareis (Sp?)- GET RID OF HER -- what a waste of everything. The character sucks, the actress sucks, everything sucks. She too can join Brooke and Hope...
8. Pam - Allie Mills - She's a pretty good actress and there is a lot of potential there for story post- Stephanie. They can revamp her going forward by taking the comedic stuff she's done in the past (remember folks - she only acts what she's been given in the script that Brad B., writers, et. al. have WRITTEN)and turn her into a more serious actress/storyline. She can really be pivotal by being the "rock" for the entire FOrrester Family while they grieve for Stephanie and be around like the little sister watching out for big sis Stephanie's family after she's gone. And for herself - the character - she can grow closer to Stephanie's family and not feel like an outsider like she told Stephanie a few weeks ago. She can be the voice of reason both at home and at the office. JUST GET RID OF DONNA - get her out of the way.
9. I'm done venting...Thank you all for my therapy session!!
10. I'm really going to miss SUSAN FLANNERY - what a class act. I rarely have anything nice about Brad B. so here is one of the few compliments I will pay him: Thank you for honoring Susan Flannery the way you have -- from the exit storyline, the B & B party, the mini-videos on Susan's favorite stories, etc.,etc. such a fitting tribute to this fabulous actress and person.
