BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL Interview
B&B's Storm Warning
Court Advantage: Taylor's (Hunter Tylo) legal woes have brought back a familiar character, Storm Logan, but he has a new face (William de Vry).

Without a doubt, Taylor is in a heap of trouble. She recently confessed to causing Darla's death. Now the disgraced shrink is desperately fighting for her freedom as she goes on trial, facing a host of charges (gross vehicular manslaughter, obstruction of justice and driving under the influence). To beat them, Taylor needs to prove that it was a tragic chain of events and not gross negligence that claimed an innocent person's life. Not surprisingly, she'll need expert counsel and the Forresters think that Stephen "Storm" Logan Jr., who also happens to be Brooke and Donna's big brother, as well as Taylor's ex-boyfriend, fits the bill.
"Since we needed an attorney, why bring in a random guy?" reasons Executive Producer/Head Writer Bradley Bell. "I began to think, 'Why not bring back Storm?' and it just really built from there. I always think it's better to use someone who has some past history."
Ethan Wayne first played Storm in 1987. The role was recast in 1990 with Brian Patrick Clarke (ex-Grant, GENERAL HOSPITAL et al). Wayne was the last actor to reprise the role, for Brooke's wedding in 2003. However, neither actor was contacted for the character's return, and Emmy-nominated William de Vry (ex-Michael, ALL MY CHILDREN) was tapped instead.
"It's been so long since we've seen Storm that I decided I would rather err on the young side," Bell explains. "I really like Wil. I met with him months ago and I had him in the back of my mind since then that if we ever brought back Storm that he would be strongly considered for the role. And here he is."
That's just fine with de Vry. "After I left AMC, B&B was the soap I really, really wanted to be a part of," he explains. "It's such a classy show and I couldn't have asked for a better character to play. Storm is a part of B&B's history, plus he already has these great connections to Brooke, Donna, Taylor and the Forresters. If he can get Taylor off, then how great would it be to have the Forresters beholden to him?"
As Taylor's tricky trial progresses, could she find herself attracted once again to the former beau she dumped years ago for Ridge? And what about the rumors that someone else on the opposing side will catch the eye of the Storm? "I have some ideas of romantic possibilities," Bell teases. "But right now he's just going to be a nuts-and-bolts lawyer who will also check in with his sister Brooke during a tumultuous time in her life."
Bell also notes that there is another Logan family member who could add some drama to the current situation. "I would like to bring back Papa Stephen again," he says. "I haven't talked to Patrick [Duffy, Stephen] lately, but that's something I would love to do at some point."
De Vry seconds the motion. "That would a nice bonus," he smiles. Since Taylor also had sex with Stephen, her list of potential suitors keeps getting longer, especially if the Logan patriarch comes back to L.A. and Thorne forgives her. "The last thing on Taylor's mind right now is romance," chuckles Bell. "She has to get through this trial first. The big question, of course, is will she be declared guilty or will she be acquitted? There's a great twist in the trial that I think the fans will love."
