Farewell, My Lovely
"I loved every minute!" enthuses Schae Harrison (ex-Darla) about the role she played since early 1989, but came to an end when her character died on July 18. "I loved the comedy with Sally, Saul and Clarke. Then it was so much fun to switch gears and get serious when Darla became involved with the Forrester family. Working on a soap opera has been a dream and I will miss everybody at B&B." And, as you can see below, Harrison will be missed, too.
Bradley Bell (Executive Producer/Head Writer)
"Schae is a fabulous actor. She's incredibly warm and has been a wonderful part of the BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL family for over 18 years and we're all going to miss her. She always had a wonderful team spirit and can evoke emotion so wonderfully. She has so many special qualities." then why did you let her die??
Winsor Harmon (Thorne)
"Schae's the Marilyn Monroe of the 21st century. She is what Paris Hilton is trying to be. Schae has an amazing sense of humor, but there's a level of talent that still has not been tapped. Hopefully, someone will grab her and expose that. I'll really miss her."
Hunter Tylo (Taylor)
"I'm so sad to lose Schae. She and I used to hang out and do a lot of things, so she has been a wonderful friend. She's a great actress, but a lot of people don't know how funny she is. I'm hoping she gets a sitcom of her own soon. She's going to do fine."
Darlene Conley (Sally)
"I can remember how quickly it all came about. Schae came on as a day player and my favorite story about her is an absolutely true one. During one of our first scenes, Sally came stomping through to her office, crabbing about something and dragging poor Bucky with her, and Schae stood up too quickly and knocked a typewriter to the floor and almost hit my foot with it. That was the beginning of Darla. So I looked into the camera and said, 'One of these days, I'm gonna get rid of that dame. She's gonna kill me.' It wasn't scripted and Schae just stood there wringing her hands. It was hilarious and so wonderful. In that one exchange you saw the history between those two women and you knew where it was going.
"Schae and I have been partners in crime on that show for so many years. We always worked beautifully together and she was always my favorite because I didn't have to do anything. She would do all the work in a scene and I just had to look in the camera and raise my eyebrows. If Sally wasn't getting her in trouble, she was getting Sally in trouble and the audience loved it. She was a great actress from Day one. People look at comedy and they think it's easy, but it's harder to play than anything. Schae was a natural. She could do comedy without thinking. Our chemistry was there from the first day and I shall miss her."
Ashley Jones (Bridget)
"I truly hope to continue to see Schae outside of B&B, but around the set, I'll miss her energy, her fun spirit and bugging her about borrowing her dressing room shower — it's an ongoing joke because our dressing rooms are next door to each other. Besides that, she has this unbelievable nurturing side to her that I'll miss. She's an incredible mom to her son."
Daniel McVicar (Clarke)
"Schae Harrison took a day player role and turned it into an imaginative character for over 18 years. And that came from her and no one else. She's a delight, a beauty and a dear friend. What she did as an actress and an artist was create a truly noble character who was underestimated for so long, but was finally appreciated. On the surface, Darla was so simple, but underneath was something to admire. She was very unique to daytime. For me, because I'm not under contract, I don't say, 'Good-bye,' but 'Welcome to my world.' "
